Abstract

This study aimed to measure the English proficiency of hotel management students and to analyze the factors that influence these abilities. The research method used was qualitative. The sample for this research was hotel management students from Horison Hotel School. Data was collected through English proficiency tests, observations, and interviews. The research results showed that many students had adequate English proficiency, although there are still several areas that need improvement, especially in speaking and writing skills. Factors that influence English proficiency include learning resources and access, learning motivation, and time in practicing English skills. The implication of this research was the need to develop learning strategies that are more effective and relevant to the needs of hotel management students, as well as increasing support and resources to improve their English proficiency. This study made an important contribution to the development of higher education and the hotel industry in preparing students to face global challenges.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine Generation Z’s level of resilience in facing challenges in the workplace. Generation Z is known to have unique characteristics as digital natives, but they are also susceptible to stress, anxiety, and burnout. Resilience is an important aspect in supporting their productivity and psychological well-being. This study used a quantitative approach with a descriptive survey method. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as mean, median, mode, and standard deviation. The results showed that the average resilience score was above 3.5 for all indicators, with the majority of respondents showing a fairly good level of resilience. The mode and median were consistent at a score of 4 (agree), and the low standard deviation indicated a stable distribution of answers. These findings indicated that although Generation Z had good resilience potential, there was still room for strengthening, especially in the aspects of stress management and tolerance to discomfort.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to overcome learning problems in grade 5 SD Islami Daarunnadwah, especially those related to learning the basic science of water recycling. The type of this research is Classroom Action Research where the research subjects are fifth-grade students of SD Islami Daarunnadwah who found 21 students. The results of the Classroom research showed an increase in learning outcomes which was shown in each cycle 1 and 2, where in cycle 1 the value of learning completeness reached a percentage of 71.43 percent and in cycle 2 it had achieved an achievement with a percentage of 100%. From the observations from observers, it also shows that the application of the quantum learning model to science learning in cycle 1 shows the number 31 which is included in the good category while in cycle 2 shows the number 37 in the good category. In this way, the application of the quantum learning model in science subjects with water cycle material has improved the learning outcomes of 5th grade students of SD Islami Daarunnadwah

Abstract

Abstract

Background In Indonesia, only 58% of principals meet managerial competency standards, fostering a supportive culture is essential to bridge leadership gaps and align with national education goals. Purpose This study explores how organizational culture enhances the performance effectiveness of elementary school principals, focusing on core values like collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity. Design/method/approach A qualitative case study design was employed, with data collected through semi-structured interviews involving principals and teachers from diverse elementary schools. Purposive sampling ensured representation of urban and rural contexts. Thematic analysis identified patterns in cultural practices and their impact on leadership effectiveness. Results Organizational culture, characterized by trust and shared decision-making, plays a crucial role in enhancing principal performance by fostering motivation and minimizing resistance to change. In this context, principals function as “cultural architects,” employing transformational leadership practicessuch as mentoring and participatory meetings to instill and strengthen core values within the school environment. However, contextual challenges, including resource disparities, demand adaptive cultural strategies, particularly in rural schools where emphasizing mutual cooperation becomes essential for sustaining progress and achieving shared goals. Contribution/value The study contributes by highlighting how organizational culture grounded in trust and shared decision-making significantly enhances principal performance through transformational leadership practices.
