Abstract

Preeclampsia is a condition identified as diastolic blood pressure ≥ 90 mmHg at ≥ 20 weeks of gestation. Preeclampsia is a risky condition for pregnant women, is one of the causes of maternal death in Indonesia, and causes fetal growth to be hampered. Games that can help you understand more easily are puzzles, containing word games. One of the puzzle games is the Spelling Puzzle Game. This activity aims to independently detect preeclampsia in pregnant women using the Spelling Puzzle Game. The method used in community service is health education outreach using the Spelling Puzzle Game media. The targets for this activity were pregnant women, women of childbearing age (WUS), and cadres in the RW 07 Kapasan Village area, Simokerto District, totaling 21 respondents. The results of the activity showed that the level of knowledge about preeclampsia was in the good category of 100% (21 respondents). Respondents should be able to carry out early detection of preeclampsia independently to help reduce or control blood pressure

Abstract

Introduction & Aim: The Emergency Department (ED) is one of the spearheads of hospital health services aimed at providing first aid for patients. Providing emergency services to reduce morbidity and mortality rates it requires the ability of nurses to sort out patients who need help first, this sorting is called Triage. This community service aims to provide education on the implementation of triage on the level of knowledge of the patient's family in the ED. Method of Activity: Implementation of community service at the ED of Adi Husada Kapasari Hospital, January 2023, the target is the patient's family. The method of providing education on the implementation of triage to the patient's family is with lectures and media leaflets. The first stage collects the patient's family and gives a questionnaire sheet. The second stage is the delivery of material and discussion of questions and answers about the implementation of triage, as well as giving questionnaires. Results: A total of 10 representatives of the patient's family members participated. Characteristics based on age showed that half (50%) were aged 36-45 years, based on gender the majority (60%) were female, and based on education the majority (80%) had high school/vocational high school education. Knowledge of the patient's family before being given triage education showed that most (60%) had less knowledge, whereas after being given triage education most (60%) had good knowledge about triage. Discussion: Providing education on the implementation of triage to the patient's family is very useful, and has proven to be able to provide information as well as understanding regarding health service procedures in the ED, families better understand the actions given to their family members while in the ED, and can change the behavior and perceptions of the patient's family towards the procedure given by ED health workers.

Abstract

Introduction & Aim: While the issue of malnutrition hasn't been completely overcome, the issue of overweight and obesity seems to be becoming worse. Obesity is a phenomenon similar to an iceberg that appears straightforward on the surface. If not treated right once, it would endanger the sustainability of future generations. Families and their members will have more access to complete health care. The aim of this activity is to carry out extensive community service projects that educate about the risks of obesity using a family-centered approach. Method of Activity: Educational Activities "RETAS" or Risk of Obesity is one of the health promotion activities with a family approach. The educational activity "RETAS" was carried out in Gubeng District, Surabaya, in December 2022. The implementation of community service activities included filling out pre-tests, giving materials, filling out food diaries, food diary, demonstration of physical activity, and post-tests. Activity. The "RETAS" activity was filled with the provision of comprehensive education, including obesity prevention, a community movement program for healthy living, balanced nutrition guidelines followed by filling out a food diary according to WHO guidelines, demonstration of physical activity, also distribution of media leaflets and booklets. Results: Participants' understanding increased by 72% after delivering education and materials. Discussion: Leaflets and booklets have been proven to increase participants' knowledge of the risk of obesity in families. Prevention of the risk of obesity with a comprehensive family approach through "RETAS" Education is hoped to be adopted as one of the health promotion efforts in urban and rural areas.

Abstract

Introduction & Aim: Hypertension was one of the most common degenerative diseases among the elderly and could reduce their quality of life if not properly managed. This community service aimed to improve the multidimensional wellness of elderly with hypertension through the SENIKEL (Healthy, Energetic, Comfortable, Inspirational) program in RW 07 Gading Karya, Gading Sub-district, Tambaksari District, Surabaya City. Method of Activity: The method used health education, participatory discussion, and relaxation practice involving 35 elderly people with the criteria of having good cognitive abilities, being cooperative, and willing to participate in the activities until completion, which were carried out on December 27, 2024. Results: The results showed an increase in multidimensional wellness after the intervention. Before education, elderly in the good category of wellness were only 40.0%, increasing to 62.9% after the intervention. Meanwhile, the fair category decreased from 45.7% to 28.6%, and the poor category decreased from 14.3% to 8.6%. Discussion: This activity proved that community-based educational programs were effective in improving the holistic quality of life of elderly with hypertension. It was recommended that similar programs be carried out continuously with the support of health cadres and families to maintain the sustainability of the outcomes.
