Abstract

Abstract. Waste Bank is one of the instruments in community participation-based waste management which is expected to be able to contribute to the process of reducing and handling waste in Indonesia. However, the waste bank (unit) faces many obstacles in the field. To face these challenges, the Government of Indonesia recommends that every Regency/City have a Main Waste Bank. This study discusses the impacts of the Bandung City Induk Waste Bank, the Resik Waste Bank of Bandung City Regional Company (PD), in an effort to reduce and handle waste to support sustainable development through community empowerment. This research was conducted using a qualitative research approach. Methods of collecting data through in-depth interviews and observation. The results of the study indicate that the Resik Waste Bank performs various empowerment roles through facilitative and educational roles and abilities that are carried out which ultimately provide benefits to the community and members of the waste bank unit both in terms of economic, environmental, and social development. These benefits contribute to the social dimensions of sustainable development, namely poverty reduction, participatory development, and consensus building.Keywords: Solid waste management; sustainable development; community development; empowerment; waste bank.Abstrak. Bank Sampah merupakan salah satu instrumen dalam pengelolaan sampah berbasis partisipasi masyarakat yang diharapkan mampu berkontribusi dalam proses pengurangan dan penanganan sampah di Indonesia. Namun, bank sampah (unit) mengalami banyak kendala di lapangan. Untuk menghadapi tantangan tersebut, Pemerintah Indonesia menyarankan agar setiap Kabupaten/Kota memiliki Bank Sampah Induk. Penelitian ini membahas tentang manfaat pemberdayaan yang dilakukan Bank Sampah Induk di Kota Bandung yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui upaya pengurangan dan penanganan sampah untuk mendukung pembangunan berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Bank Sampah Resik melakukan berbagai peran pemberdayaan melalui peran dan kemampuan fasilitatif dan edukasional yang dilakukan yang akhirnya memberikan manfaat kepada masyarakat dan anggota bank sampah unitnya baik manfaat pada perkembangan ekonomi, lingkungan, dan sosial. Manfaat tersebut berkontribusi pada dimensi sosial dalam pembangunan berkelanjutan yakni poverty reduction, participatory development dan consensus building.   Kata kunci: Pengelolaan sampah; pembangunan berkelanjutan; pengembangan masyarakat; pemberdayaan; bank sampah.

Abstract

Competition in the world of work that is getting tougher requires everyone to have good abilities in a certain field, especially in the era of the Asian economic community like now, competition with workers from other countries is inevitable. To answer this challenge, the government through the Ministry of Social Affairs established a Rehabilitation Center which is focused on providing skills training for persons with disabilities. The training conducted specifically for preparing persons with disabilities for the world of work by providing training and social guidance. However, in its implementation, there are various obstacles so that organizations need innovation. These obstacles occur because of limited human resources. That makes the implementation of the role of social workers and instructors to develop and become an important concern. This research examines the stages and processes in service programs at the rehabilitation center. The research approach is qualitative. While the technique of reading interview and observation data, as well as study documentation. The number of informants was 14 people, namely informants from instructors, social workers, and BBRVBD students. This study found that the service stages at BBRVBD were run linearly. However, based on the process, there are various security that cannot be avoided. Constraints occur because of various limitations that come from internal BBRVBD and from organizational organizations. Constraints that occur indirectly have implications for the process at the resocialization stage

Abstract

This research is descriptive qualitative research that discusses the financial management of beneficiary (KPM) of Program Keluarga Harapan (PKH) organized by the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in Srengseng Sawah Village, Janggakarsa District, South Jakarta. Data collection in this study was conducted through observation and interviews with purposive sampling technique. This study generally aims to see the process of empowering beneficiaries of the Program Keluarga Harapan in the Family Capacity Building Meeting (P2K2) or Family Development Session (FDS) in Srengseng Sawah Village and to determine the role of assistants in implementing P2K2 Financial Management Sessions in Srengseng Sawah Village. The results of the study indicated that in implementing P2K2 Financial Management Sessions, there were several obstacles and problems. From the KPM PKH side, there are problems, such as: (1) not being able to differentiate between needs and wants and (2) unable to regulate expenses that must be prioritized, postponed, reduced, or eliminated. In terms of PKH human resources, there are obstacles in making KPM PKH stay focused during P2K2 because the composition of the Companion versus KPM is not ideal. Through this research also found a positive impact that occurred after the empowerment process in P2K2 Financial Management Sessions. Among them, the knowledge and expertise in making monthly budgets and saving plans have been implemented by most of the KPM PKH, resulting in reduced debt, the ability to better manage household finances which leads to better economic conditions.

Abstract

The involvement of the elderly in religious activities cannot be separated from their volunteer motivation. The purpose of this study is to analyze the Islamic view of volunteer motivation. The research method used in this study is literature review, the type of literature review in this study is an integrative review. The results of the literature review show that volunteering is an action taken by someone because the person feels religiously responsible to volunteer and is morally motivated to carry out volunteer activities. The concept of volunteerism in Islam illustrates how volunteerism in its various forms is an inseparable part of the dimensions of tradition and worship in Islam.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. This paper explains the benefits of benefits of zakat management in productive way implemented by Baitul Mal of Aceh as an effort to overcoming poverty in Aceh Province, Indonesia. We identified the zakat management process in productive way and its problems in managing zakat. We also found the benefits for mustahik from zakat management in Baitul Mal Aceh. This qualitative study used observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies as data collection techniques. As a results, we found several things, that the benefits of zakat which is consideres as Local Government Revenue or PAA (Pendapatan Asli Aceh (Aceh Local Revenue)), encouraging the growth of business run by mustahik, and the transformation from mustahik to muzakki. Based on the research, we recommend to Aceh's Government increase the implementation of productive zakat utilization and its effectiveness. For the Baitul Mal Aceh, we propose clarifying the system and standardisation of zakat management in the Aceh Province. ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini menjelaskan manfaat pengelolaan zakat secara produktif yang dilaksanakan Baitul Mal Aceh sebagai upaya penanganan kemiskinan di Provinsi Aceh, Indonesia. Peneliti mengidentifikasi proses pengelolaan zakat produktif dan permasalahannya dalam mengelola zakat. Peneliti juga menemukan manfaat bagi mustahik dari pengelolaan zakat di Baitul Mal Aceh. Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan teknik pengamatan, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi untuk mendapatkan daya yang relevan. Hasilnya, peneliti menemukan beberapa hal, yaitu manfaat zakat yang dianggap sebagai Pendapatan Asli Daerah atau PAA (Pendapatan Asli Aceh), mendorong pertumbuhan bisnis yang dijalankan oleh mustahik, dan transformasi dari mustahik menjadi muzakki. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kami merekomendasikan kepada Pemerintah Aceh untuk meningkatkan pelaksanaan pendayagunaan zakat produktif dan efektifitasnya. Untuk Baitul Mal Aceh, kami mengusulkan agar memperjelas sistem dan standarisasi pengelolaan zakat di Provinsi Aceh.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. This paper explains the issues in managing productive zakat by Baitul Mal Aceh. The Faith-Based Organization tried to eliminate poverty in Aceh Province, Indonesia. We used a qualitative approach and implemented observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies to collect data. Based on the study, we found some issues related to human resources and the disbursement mechanisms. Based on the research, we propose to Aceh Government increase the quality of human resources in managing productive zakat. For the Baitul Mal Aceh, we also recommend clarifying the recruitment system and its standardization, to have better zakat productive utilization in the Aceh Province. ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini membahas tentang problematika yang dihadapi ketika Baitul Mal Aceh mengelola zakat secara produktif oleh. Organisasi berbasi agama ini mencoba untuk mengatasi kemiskinan di Provinsi Aceh, Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan menerapkan observasi, in-depth interview, serta studi dokumentasi untuk mengumpulkan data. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan bahwa problematika yang dihadapi antara lain keterbatasan sumber daya manusia dan mekanisme pencairan dana. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan, disarankan kepada Pemerintah Aceh untuk meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia dalam mengelola zakat produktif. Kepada Baitul Mal Aceh, disarankan untuk memperjelas sistem rekrutmen dan standarisasinya agar pengelolaan zakat di Provinsi Aceh lebih baik.

Abstract

This article discusses the implementation of the microfinance program in one of the zakat institutions in Indonesia, Pos Keadilan Peduli Umat (PKPU) as Faith-Based Organization (FBO). Utilization of zakat through microfinance requires the community workers to be able to be adaptive to the dynamics of the existing system within himself, organization, community and the organization environment. The dynamic of the social system in the process of microfinance will provide its challenges, both for change agents and service recipients. Based on a qualitative approach, this study describes the organizing skills that Community workers needed to have in implementing microfinance program. The data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and literature study. This study illustrates organizing skills --that could help community workers to be more adaptive to organizational and environmental dynamics in the process of microfinance-- are organizational restructuring based on environmental needs and changes, flexible direction to develop a supportive organizational climate, and the development of organizing skills down to the grassroots.

Abstract

This study discusses the practice of changing local organizations to become global at Pos Keadilan Peduli Ummat Human Initiative, which is located in Depok, West Java. Contingency theory is used as the basis for research, where the organization is an open system whose internal structure adapts to changes in the external environment and technology so that its effectiveness can continue to be sustainable. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research——informant selection technique in this study, using purposive sampling. The data collection used in-depth interviews with several informants consisting of the founders of the organization, the structural ranks of the board of directors at the time of the research, senior workers and retired workers. The study results indicate that changing local organizations to global ones from the Justice Center Peduli Ummat Human Initiative occurs due to adjusting the internal structure to the demands of changes in the external environment and technology. The dynamics of the leadership dynamics evidence. This change in evidence ranks at the director's level and below him, the use of technology and information under the times and the strengthening of the capacity of its human resources. The need to change turned out to cause internal impacts such as egalitarian attitudes to become formal, the inconvenience of old workers and the need to be technology literate.

Abstract

Kampung Bayam has been included in the development of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) area, which has had social and economic impacts on the community. PT Jakarta Propertindo, the area manager, has a social responsibility to implement a Resettlement Action Plan (RAP). This research aims to describe the advocacy dynamics of the Kampung Bayam community in the RAP program, as well as community empowerment in the same program. The research used a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data collection involved in-depth interviews with 18 informants using purposive sampling techniques. The research findings reveal that advocacy for the RAP program was carried out through contextual principles that included information delivery, negotiation, and consensus building. There were plans for community participation through FGD and mentoring activities. Community empowerment in the RAP program was achieved through enabling, empowering, and protecting processes. The community formed organizations such as cooperatives and opened business stalls to promote empowerment. Efforts were also made to increase the capacity of the Kampung Bayam community.

Abstract

This research analyzed the crucial management dimensions or key elements oforganizations that have been managed as Islamic almsgiving institutions (zakahfunds) in Indonesia. Zakah funds are traditionally managed for a limited number ofbeneficiaries. Zakah funds are now collected and managed by professional Islamicor faith-based organizations and institutions at the national or regional level toachieve a wider range of beneficiaries. This article examines how two Islamicor faith-based organizations, herein named CV (commanditaire vennootschap)“X” and “Y” Foundation, manage small enterprise programs based on zakah toreach a wider range of beneficiaries. Using qualitative methods, the researchidentifies crucial dimensions in the management of organizational dynamics ofthese Islamic or faith-based organizations, i.e., organizational systems, humanresources, and organizational climate. Those elements are used to manageeconomic empowerment activities with faith as a supra structure or contextualunderlying factor. Field findings also demonstrated the usefulness of religiousvalues in managing sustainable community-empowerment practices in smallenterprise programs.
