Abstract

Companies must fulfill their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in conducting business. One of the goals of CSR is to enhance the economy through empowering of MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises). By empowering MSMEs, economic growth will be further enhanced. Some studies discussing "power" place more emphasis on the perspective of the beneficiaries. Meanwhile, the perspective of the service providers, in this case related to the private sector through CSR, has not yet been studied. Therefore, this research aims to examine Pertamina's perspective on the concept of power in the process of empowering MSMEs and Pertamina's efforts in empowering its partner MSMEs. This research uses qualitative descriptive method with a snowball sampling technique. The research results indicate that PT Pertamina views "power" from two perspectives: the pluralist perspective and the elite perspective. As part of its efforts to empower MSMEs, PT Pertamina implements the Small Medium Enterprises Partnership Program (SMEPP), which includes funding for MSMEs, mentoring and coaching through the UMK Academy, as well as the SMEXPO Marketplace and Exhibition.

Abstract

The Bandung City Government encourages participation through the decentralization of waste management. Unfortunately, the TPS 3R Maleer as one of the pilot waste management sites in Bandung City could not promote equal participation in the implementation of decentralized waste management. This study aims to analyse the application of participatory development in the implementation of decentralization waste management in Maleer Village. Based on qualitative approach and a descriptive type, this study explain the stages, mechanisms, and benefits of participatory development. The results showed that the participatory development in decentralized waste management in Maleer Village lack of the community's participation. The participatory development stage from decision-making, implementation, and utilization has been carried done, however we did not see the community involvement in the evaluation stage. Moreover, the participatory development mechanisms have also been carried out through socialization and education, consultation, collaboration, and empowerment of waste management. Unfortunately, this mechanism has not realized sustainable activities due to the low commitment of the community. We found that the lack of community participation in decentralized waste management in Maleer Village is caused by some reasons. Non-formal evaluation did not run regularly and lack coordination in formal evaluation. Then, the low commitment of the community is caused by the lack of public awareness, limited time, limited capacity, and low community intention in sorting waste.

The Family Hope Program (PKH) is a national priority to accelerate poverty reduction. One of the PKH Beneficiary Families' (KPM) obligations to improve this is to attend Family Capacity Building Meetings (P2K2). This study aims to describe the empowerment of KPM PKH through P2K2 in the Karawaci sub-district. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with a descriptive research type. Data collection techniques are through in-depth interviews, observation, and document study. The study results show that empowerment through P2K2 for KPM in the Karawaci sub-district has been going well, but until now, there has been no independent graduation of KPM PKH due to P2K2. PKH assistants obstacles in empowering KPM PKH through P2K2, namely the participation and level of understanding of KPM. For this reason, the ability and number of assistants, P2K2 operational funds, facilities, and P2K2 module materials need attention to maximize self-graduation efforts, especially comprehensive attention related to economic aspects in empowering KPM.

Abstract

Since the independence of Indonesia, many problems have always been discussed. Poverty and inequality are one of those problems that existed and have been solved since almost eight decades ago. The government has been trying to make the country better through development that emphasizes economic improvement. Unfortunately, economic development creates another social problem: the gap between the “haves” and the “have-nots.” Social and economic disparities could cause social disintegration. The main dispute is not merely in the poverty itself, but how the stakeholders respond to poverty. This article examines the problems of poverty from the community integration point of view. We found how communities can become separated from each other due to various factors such a physical, social, and economic barriers. It outlines the challenges faced in addressing social disintegration through the children's learning house program which is based on community-based action research.

Abstract

National Health Insurance (JKN) is one of the policies to support the implementation of social development programs in Indonesia. This is in accordance with the mandate of the 1945 Constitution, where the state provided social protection to achieve social justice. One of the determining factors for the success of the JKN program participation aspect. The SJSN Law of 2004 binds citizens to participate in this program without exception. JKN was first implemented in 2014 with coverage target is 95% of population until 2019. But in its development, up to 2020 the coverage of membership is 82.7%. This study aims to determine the dynamics in JKN program policy planning from the aspect of participation. This research used a qualitative method to analyse the dynamics of policy planning from stakeholders related to JKN in the Bappenas. Researchers conducted in-depth interviews with relevant officials in Bappenas and do some documentation studies. Documentation study data sourced from various planning documents from 2014 to 2019. The results showed that there were very optimistic targets related to participation, this target directly affected the quality of the JKN program, one of which was the current deficit condition. It is necessary to re-calculate the Universal Health Coverage target in Indonesia. Some obstacles that occur include differences in understanding of the program, institutional and funding problems, inconsistencies of participants and data.
