Abstract

Gulon Asri Waste Bank is a place used to collect waste that has been sorted first. The selected waste is then collected and made crafts. Garbage Bank with good potential to be able to increase people's income. Making packaging at the Gulon Asri Waste Bank is a form of support for the creativity of the community that makes interesting works from waste. This program aims to help the Gulon Asri Waste Bank by utilizing leftover fabrics to be developed as packaging so as to increase the commercial value of the product. The public can create economical value packaging with attractive packaging. Then, the waste bank community can also increase environmental and community awareness by empowering existing resources, increasing motivation, and community creativity. The community can also develop creativity in making sustainable and environmentally friendly packaging so that the products created by the waste bank have attractive packaging by utilizing cloth waste as well and have high selling power.

Abstract

Pengabdian pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam pemanfaatan limbah kayu di Desa Wisata SidowayahKlaten ini sebagai salah satu upaya mewujudkan konsep Penataan Kawasan Wisata TerpaduSidowayah, sebagai Pusat Pemerintahan dan Pendidikan, Kawasan Wisata, Kawasan Agro Komplek,Kawasan Perdagangan dan Jasa, Industri Kreatif, Kawasan Penyangga Konservasi Area, danKawasan Komersil. Upaya pemanfaatan limbah kayu yang ada di Desa Wisata Sidowayah bertujuanmengatasi masalah lingkungan serta pemanfaataannya sebagai produk kreatif untuk menunjangTamanOasse,yangpadaakhirnyadapatmenggerakkansektorekonomi.Salahsatuupayapemanfaatan limbah kayu menjadi produk kreatif dengan jalan mengolah limbah kayu tersebutmenjadi alat permainan edukasi bagi anak-anak. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan dengan beberapatahap, diawali dengan diskusi terbatas, pelatihan pengembangan desain dan pelatihan produksipermainan edukasi berbahan limbah kayu, diujung kegiatan pengabdian diakhiri dengan evaluasikegiatan. Dampak yang dirasakan langsung oleh peserta kegiatan adalah peningkatan pengetahuanpemanfaatan limbah kayu dan tambahan wawasan produksi permainan edukasi. Kegiatan pengabdianmemberi dampak positif bagi pengelolaan Taman Oasse, harapan untuk dilakukan kegiatan sejenisyang dinantikan.Kata Kunci :permainan edukasi, Desa Wisata Sidowayah, limbah kayu, Taman Oasse

Abstract

Basically, the cloth is indispensable in the interior design sector, especially in the manufacture of interior accessories products made from textiles or upholstery. The problem of fabric waste that is abundant and difficult to decompose should be a solution for interior design products. Interior Design can utilize patchwork waste into products that have beauty, function, and economic value. Therefore, this community service activity at the Gulon Asri Waste Bank focuses on processing patchwork into interior accessory products, such as blankets, carpets, pillows, and others. Then the product is packaged and marketed online.

Abstract

The trend of thrifting has exacerbated the problem of fabric waste in Indonesia. Therefore, sustainable efforts are needed, such as activating fabric waste processing activities in the community. The Gulon Asri Jebres waste bank is a place for community service activities carried out by the UNS interior design study program to develop interior products that have more value for fabric waste materials. This community service activity emphasizes the development of interior product designs made from fabric waste. Development activities are accompanied by lecturers and interior design students from the start of making sketches until later they become ready-to-sell products using a design thinking approach. The products produced include chairs, laundry baskets, curtains, cushions, and plant hangings.

Abstract

The focuses of this research are the visual style reconstruction of cigarette advertisements published in magazines during the colonial era of the Dutch East Indies and the expressions of lifestyle recorded in them. This study examines the visualization and visual style of cigarette advertisements published in magazines in Indonesia from 1925 to 2000. This study also aims to reconstruct the lifestyle in the visual representation of cigarette advertisements as a reflection of the process of social change in Indonesian society during the colonial to the post-colonial period (1925 - 2000). This research employed descriptive analytical methodology, with the main theory of the social history of Art and David Chaney’s lifestyle theory. The visual style of Oriental Modern Eclecticism captures the Indies’ hybrid lifestyle expression, namely: a pseudo-modernity lifestyle as a result of the integration among the colonized communities which were spread across the Dutch East Indies (1925-1942). The cigarette advertisements of that era presented an imaginary world that depicted the harmonious social interactions of various social layers which is contrary to the social reality of the segregated colonial life.

Abstract

The service activity is a continuation of the previous service activity, which is almost entering the final stage of efforts to commercialize Gulon Asri waste bank products. This service activity consists of material delivery activities and product making workshop activities along with recording video tutorials of the products being worked on. At this stage, waste bank women are taught to make video tutorials which can be used as a means of education about recycling fabric waste as well as a promotional medium for the products produced by the waste bank.

Abstract

Learning in Vocational Schools is a pioneer for the industry to develop. DKV students with the development of the times also need to know the development of technology. So, knowledge of illustrations in digital form is important in learning. The problem at SMK N 9 Surakarta majoring in DKV based on a questionnaire of 55.8% shows that illustration material is difficult to understand. This study aims to develop teaching materials in the form of interactive android-based media for vocational school students is expected to help students learn it easily and can be accessed anywhere. The research method uses research and development research with the stages of problem identification, analysis, design, and development. The results of the study are in the form of a mobile learning UI design with teaching material content packaged in an application with visualization of color elements, typography, and illustrations. The Wireframe design of the illustration material application is made with a storyboard containing the initial display, material competencies, works, questions, and references. The visual elements in the application use blue, Tw Cen MT and Futura fonts. The illustrations used are cartoons, caricatures, and comics. The prototype splash screen is blue and consists of various types of illustration materials. The benefits generated from the application are that students learn it with an easily UI display.

Abstract

Al Ahdhar Mosque is a modern mosque that has a different shape than other mosques. This results in various public perceptions of the shape of the mosque, both positive and negative. To find out the meaning behind these forms, a study was conducted to determine the factual meaning of the visible icons in the architecture and interior of the Al Ahdhar Mosque. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with Erwin Panofsky's iconographic approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observations, and literature studies. Based on the research that has been done, the results showed that there is a meaning behind the icons in the architecture and interior of the mosque related to the green concept and Islamic teachings.  In mosque architecture, the asymmetrical shape is an analogy of prostration in prayer, while the large opening in the interior is a manifestation of the implementation of an open concept.  Based on the presentation of the mosque's visuals and the meaning behind it, the Al Ahdhar Mosque uses a contemporary modern style.
