Abstract

Stunting is a serious health issue that impedes optimal child growth, particularly due to inadequate height for age. This study aims to examine the relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and maternal knowledge levels with stunting prevalence in the Cot Seumeureung Public Health Center region, Aceh Barat. Employing a cross-sectional research design, the study involved 95 toddlers selected through proportional random sampling. Data were analyzed using Chi-Square statistical tests to determine associations between the variables under study. Results indicate a significant correlation between exclusive breastfeeding and stunting prevalence (p=0.002), as well as between maternal knowledge and stunting incidence (p=0.001). The findings highlight that exclusive breastfeeding and maternal knowledge are critical factors in stunting prevention, underscoring the importance of enhanced breastfeeding education for mothers as a preventive measure.

Abstract

The prevalence of smoking among school-aged adolescents, specifically those aged 10–18 years, increased according to the 2018 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) report. Youth smoking remains a serious public health issue despite various prevention and reduction efforts implemented in many countries, including Indonesia. The aim of educating sixth-grade students at SDN Peulanteu about the dangers of smoking was to enhance their knowledge regarding the risks of smoking for both active and passive smokers. The method used in this community service activity was health education, which included lectures and discussions. The material was delivered by lecturers and students from Teuku Umar University using media such as PowerPoint presentations and leaflets. Additionally, question-and-answer sessions and ice-breaking activities were conducted to increase interaction with participants. This community service activity successfully improved students' understanding of the health risks associated with smoking. The educational sessions fostered enthusiasm among students in grasping the presented material. It is recommended that health workers and educators continue to conduct regular awareness campaigns on the dangers of smoking to strengthen students' understanding. Furthermore, developing more engaging and interactive educational materials, such as digital media or educational games, is suggested to capture students' attention effectively.

Abstract

Indonesia is the fourth country worldwide regarding smartphone use, reaching 100 million users. The use of cell phones has a negative effect called phone addiction, which can lead to further health problems, both physical and non- physical health problems. This study aimed to model the incidence of phone addiction in students in suburban areas. The population of this study were students of Muhammadiyah University Gresik who were 17 years old, had a smartphone, used a smartphone for> 2 years, and had internet access. Data was collected online from March - April 2020 with 101 respondents. Samples were selected using simple random sampling. The condition of phone addiction was measured using the Smartphone Addiction Scale Short Version (SAS-SV) questionnaire. Analysis was carried out using Pearson chi-square and multiple logistic regression. The results of the bivariable analysis obtained variables associated with the onset of phone addiction, namely age, last education, residence, location of residence, and faculty of origin of respondents. The results of the multivariable analysis that was carried out obtained several significant variables, namely the age of the respondent (0.09; aPR 0.393) and the duration of daily cellphone use (0.05; 1.543). Students are a population with a high risk of developing phone addiction. One of the most critical factors for the onset of phone addiction is the high duration of cell phone use. Preventive measures need to be taken to reduce and prevent the onset of phone addiction in students before it causes further health problems.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is still a significant health problem, with deaths reaching 1.3 million in 2016. Indonesia has a relatively high incidence of TB cases, reaching 391 cases per 100,000 population. One crucial element in handling tuberculosis cases is cooperating with Health Cadres in the community to solve TB problems. Cadres have an essential role in TB, starting from case detection, drug-taking supervision, and community empowerment. Hence, it is necessary to refresh their knowledge regularly and solve obstacles cadres face in the field. With this vital role, it is essential to consistently update the knowledge and skills of cadres in the community. The purpose of this service is to improve the knowledge and skills of cadres as well as to identify problems and constraints of cadres in society. Refreshment activities are carried out using lecture, and discussion techniques, with the media used being PowerPoint and cadre pocketbooks. Implementation evaluation is carried out using structural evaluation, processes, and results. The results of the evaluation conducted showed that the attendance of participants was >80%, and there was a significant increase in knowledge in participants from the results of the T-paired test that had been carried out. The refreshment activities carried out are always very important to maintain knowledge and skills and solve problems faced by cadres in the community and continually motivate cadres to do community empowerment well to create a healthy community and significantly eliminate tuberculosis cases..

Abstract

Abstract

The emergence of online food ordering applications. Currently, it is widely used by various groups of people including students. With the online food ordering application, it provides convenience in mobilization and in ordering food. The negative impact of using online applications is that there will be reduced physical activity used to buy food. Low physical activity will have an impact on increasing the risk of non-communicable disease incidence. Excessive eating patterns, carried out at inappropriate times (night) and lack of physical activity can cause poor metabolism so that it will cause more nutrition. The type of research used is descriptive research, with a cross-sectional research design, using the survey method. The population is students of the faculty of economics at Medan Area University. The sampling technique used is nonprobability sampling with incidental sampling technique, which is a sampling technique based on chance, that is, anyone who by chance or incidentally meets the researcher can be used as a sample, if it is seen that the person who happened to be met is suitable as a data source. The number of samples in this study were 100 respondents. Based on the results of the analysis using the Chi-Square test, it is known that research on the relationship between online food ordering time and physical activity with nutritional status explains that the value of p = 0.004 (physical activity) and p = 0.006 (online ordering time).

Abstract

Diperlukan komitmen dalam memberikan konseling sebelum ARV, melibatkan Pengawas Minum Obat dan tenaga kesehatan untuk memperbaiki pengendalian ARV.Kata kunci: HIV/AIDS, Blitar, ARV, StigmaHIV/AIDS was a significant concern in Blitar District, with a surge in AIDS cases in 2017 (120 cases) compared to 2016 (160 cases). Although HIV experienced a decline, the ARV treatment coverage remained low (33.75% in 2016 and 50% in 2017) due to both treatment fatigue and the perception of recovery. This research utilized a descriptive method with data obtained from Blitar District Health Office (2014-2017) documents and interviews with HIV program managers. Findings revealed other health priorities such as hypertension, diabetes, mental disorders, cervical cancer, tuberculosis, and dengue fever. Dengue fever and HIV/AIDS were identified as the primary concerns based on Urgency, Seriousness, Growth (USG) criteria. Commitment to counseling before ARV treatment is necessary, involving Drug Adherence Supervisors and healthcare professionals to enhance ARV treatment control. Keywords: HIV/AIDS, Blitar, ARV, Stigma
