Abstract

One way to promote local wisdom values ​​is to integrate them into learning in schools, particularly in Lombok where there are some valuable local wisdom which could be integrated into English textbooks. This research aims to integrate Lombok's local wisdom values ​​ into English language teaching, particularly for junior high school level to strengthen students' character and identity to face future challenges. This research employed a Research and Development approach to produce local wisdom-based textbooks with a total population and sample of 72 students who are divided into 12 groups based on the units in each textbook which are developed. Meanwhile, the practicality of the teaching materials was assessed by 2 lecturers who taught the Textbook and Material Development course, while the object of this research was the English teaching materials for junior high school level that would be developed. So far, there has never been any action to develop materials by integrating local wisdom in the form of folk tales, especially on the island of Lombok, into reading material in textbooks. This research reveals that some important characteristics obtained from Lombok's local wisdom values ​​that can be integrated into English language learning, they are religious, tolerant and egalitarian. Religious character becomes the foundation of other characters. These different characters can be integrated into the teaching and learning process. In the teaching process, teachers adjust teaching steps by instilling religiosity, tolerant and egalitarian values, while, materials are equipped with a teacher's book which provides direction to teachers, especially regarding the interpretation of local wisdom values ​​so that they comply with competency standards and basic competencies in the curriculum which is currently being implemented in Indonesia. Abstract

Educators play an important role in the implementation of education in schools to shape student character and achieve educational success. One way that educators need to do this is the ability to manage time effectively. This research aims to identify the factors that cause teacher tardiness at Al-Mubarok Kindergarten and develop strategies to improve time discipline. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method, with data collection techniques through observation and in-depth interviews. Observations were carried out to observe teacher tardiness and its impact on student activities in class. In-depth interviews were conducted with teachers and parents of students to dig deeper into the reasons for tardiness. The research results show that teacher tardiness not only disrupts the learning process, but also influences student behavior, who tend to become restless and lack discipline. Teachers stated that personal responsibilities at home were the main factor in their tardiness. As a solution, schools are advised to enforce stricter time discipline rules and provide time management training for teachers. It is hoped that increasing time discipline can improve the quality of learning and provide a positive role model for students, thereby creating a more conducive learning atmosphere at Al-Mubarok Kindergarten.   Keywords: Strategy, Educator, Discipline, Learning.

Abstract

Science is systematic knowledge obtained through a series of experiments and observations that can be tested further. In early childhood, simple science can foster curiosity, and encourage thoughts and actions such as observing, thinking, and relating concepts or events. Through science learning by conducting simple experiments in early childhood, we can improve aspects of children's development. This research aims to determine the cognitive abilities of young children at TK Negeri Pembina Ampenan through experiments in recognizing various flavors. This research method is classroom action research. The results of the research show that children's cognitive abilities increase from before the action until the action occurs in cycles I and II. Before being given action, it was in the undeveloped category with a value of 38.05%, after taking action in cycle I it developed according to expectations with a percentage of 72.52%, and increased to very well developed in cycle II with a percentage of 90.28%. From the research data, it can be concluded that learning science through simple experiments on recognizing tastes can maximize the cognitive abilities of young children

Abstract

Bahasa Inggris telah menjadi bahasa internasional yang digunakan di berbagai bidang khususnya pendidikan. Ironisnya, perhatian pemerintah Indonesia mengenai kurikulum bahasa Inggris di Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini dirasa masih kurang. Kurangnya perhatian pemerintah Indonesia terhadap kurikulum bahasa Inggris di PAUD merupakan sebuah isu penting yang perlu segera diatasi. Sejatinya, kemampuan berbahasa Inggris menjadi keahlian yang sangat penting untuk dimiliki sejak usia dini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana implementasi metode pengenalan Bahasa Inggris untuk anak usia dini di Lembaga PAUD. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Systematic Literature Review (SLR) menggunakan alur PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systemic reviews and Meta-Analysis) yang dimulai dari identifikasi, penelusuran literatur, dan analisis. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa tidak sedikit lembaga PAUD yang sudah mengimplementasikan pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di PAUD menggunakan berbagai metode yang menyenangkan untuk anak. Adapun beberapa metode pengenalan Bahasa Inggris yang digunakan ialah; Total Physical Respones (TPR), games atau permainan, storytelling atau bercerita, dan arts and crafts atau kegiatan seni. Dengan memberikan pengenalan terhadap Bahasa inggris, maka hal tersebut dapat meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif anak, menumbuhkan rasa percaya diri, dan yang terpenting mempersiapkan anak untuk bersaing secara global.

Abstract

This study examines the competence of prospective early childhood education teachers in facilitating English language learning through storytelling. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design, the research involved 20 purposively selected participants from a cohort of 112 students. Data were gathered through video observations of storytelling sessions and analyzed across four dimensions: story preparation, language use, vocabulary introduction, and child engagement. The results indicate that most participants demonstrated adequate competence in selecting age-appropriate stories (80%), using suitable English (70%), and engaging children through expressive techniques (85%). However, notable weaknesses were observed in vocabulary reinforcement (60%) and maintaining consistent tempo and intonation during delivery (70%). These findings highlight the need for targeted pedagogical training in storytelling as a method for early English instruction. The study recommends curriculum enhancements in teacher education programs to better equip future educators with practical strategies for effective, child-centered language learning.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of microteaching based on the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approach in improving the competence of prospective Early Childhood Education (PAUD) students in teaching English. The CLIL approach, which integrates foreign language learning with thematic content, is considered effective for implementation in early childhood education. Meanwhile, microteaching is a training strategy that allows students to practice pedagogical skills on a small and structured scale. The method used is a qualitative descriptive case study with 25 students from Mataram University who were randomly selected from 112 fourth-semester students as participants. Data were collected through structured observations during microteaching sessions and analyzed descriptively and quantitatively using percentages. The results showed that student competence in implementing the CLIL approach was classified as good, with the highest achievements in the cultural aspects (90%) and content (87%), especially in the use of interesting and contextual learning media. However, the communication and evaluation aspects of learning still need improvement, especially in encouraging children to interact actively in English and in designing objectives and assessments that are appropriate for children's development. These findings indicate that integrating CLIL into microteaching can equip students with practical and reflective skills in teaching English to early childhood, while also supporting their professional development as adaptive and competent prospective early childhood teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the competencies of prospective early childhood teachers in integrating Technological Knowledge (TK), Pedagogical Knowledge (PK), Content Knowledge (CK), Technological Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK), Technological Content Knowledge (TCK), Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK), and Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK). This study uses a descriptive method and data is collected through a structured questionnaire. The sample consisted of 20 students from the Early Childhood Teacher Education Study Program, class of 2021. The results of the study show that high performance in TPACK with the "Very Good" category connects strong mastery of Technological Knowledge (TK), Pedagogical Knowledge (PK), and Content Knowledge (CK) which means that the student is not only proficient in using technology but also in teaching and understanding content very effectively. The "Good" category often shows increased pedagogical and content knowledge and the ability to apply technology better. Meanwhile, students with "Average" performance generally have a basic understanding of all components but still have difficulty integrating them effectively. The “Medium” category appears in the components of Pedagogical Knowledge (PK), Content Knowledge (CK), Technological Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK), Technological Content Knowledge (TCK), and Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK). In this case, additional support is needed to improve the skills of prospective teacher students in combining technology, pedagogy, and content.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tentang pengaruh metode multisensori terhadap keterampilan membaca anak kelompok A di TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Tanjung. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif pra eksperimental dengan desain one group pretest posttest. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu observasi, lembar tes, dan dokumentasi. Subyek yang diteliti pada penelitian ini adalah anak kelompok A di TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Tanjung yang berjumlah 16 anak. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik parametrik dengan uji hipotesis menggunakan Uji-t. Hasil analisis pada data penelitian menunjukkan ada perbedaan rata-rata yang diuji. Berdasarkan hasil analisis uji hipotesis uji t paired samples test, diperoleh nilai Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000, yang lebih kecil dari 0.05. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil pretest dan posttest setelah diberikan perlakuan dengan metode multisensori.

Abstract

Dalam konteks perkembangan digital, media audiovisual seperti YouTube menjadi sarana yang berpengaruh dalam proses pembelajaran anak usia dini. Cocomelon, sebagai kanal YouTube yang menyajikan konten edukatif berbahasa Inggris, berpotensi menjadi media alternatif dalam memperkenalkan kosakata bahasa inggris pada anak. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media youtube channel cocomelon terhadap pengenalan kosakata bahasa inggris anak di TKIT Nurul Fikri Selong. Pendekatan Penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen dengan bentuk pre-eksperimental design. Desain Penelitian yang digunakan adalah one group pretest-posttest design (satu kelompok subjek). Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu dengan pemberian perlakuan, observasi dengan instrumen penelitian dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan diantaranya yaitu uji analisis unit, uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis dengan bantuan aplikasi IBM SPSS statistic 19. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh media youtube channel cocomelon terhadap pengenalan kosaka bahasa inggris anak. Hal tersebut didukung dengan hasil uji t (paired sample t test) yang diperoleh yaitu Sig (2 - tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ha diterima atau perlakuan dengan media youtube channel cocomelon berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pengenalan kosakata bahasa inggris anak atau dengan kata lain adanya pengaruh media youtube channel cocomelon terhadap pengenalan kosakata Bahasa inggris anak di kelompok B TKIT Nurul Fikri Selong.

Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif pra eksperimental dengan desain one group pretest posttest. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu observasi dan dokumentasi. Subjek yang diteliti pada penelitian ini adalah anak kelompok B di RA Nurul Huda NW Lembuak yang berjumlah 18 anak. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik parametrik dengan uji hipotesis menggunakan Uji-t. Hasil analisis pada data penelitian menunjukkan ada perbedaan rata-rata yang diuji. Berdasarkan hasil analisis uji hipotesis uji t paired samples test, diperoleh nilai Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000, yang lebih kecil dari 0.05. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil pretest dan posttest setelah diberikan perlakuan dengan penggunaan media kartu alphabet berbasis budaya lokal. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media kartu alphabet berbasis budaya lokal berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kemampuan membaca anak usia dini.
