Abstract

This study aims to describe the management of science learning based on information technology at State Junior High School 1 Bengkulu Selatan. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method with purposive selection of subjects, including science teachers, the principal, the vice principals for curriculum and facilities, and students. Research data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analysed through data reduction, presentation, verification, and conclusion drawing. The urgency of this study lies in the demand for adaptive learning management in the digital era. At the same time, many schools still face infrastructure limitations, low digital literacy, and inadequate human resources. The subjects were chosen purposively because of their direct involvement in the planning and implementation of science learning, ensuring diverse perspectives and comprehensive findings. The results showed that the management of science learning based on information technology at State Junior High School 1 Bengkulu Selatan has been applied gradually in line with curriculum demands. The school demonstrated a commitment to integrating technology into planning, implementation, and evaluation, although several challenges remain, particularly related to facilities, teacher competencies, and policy support. Various strategies and collaborations have been pursued to create a more inclusive and contextually relevant learning ecosystem. This study recommends further research to develop sustainable and scalable models of technology-based learning management and to evaluate the effectiveness of digital infrastructure policies at the junior high school level.

Abstract

This study evaluates the principal’s managerial role in optimizing teachers’ duties within the Pancasila Student Profile Reinforcement Project (P5) at State Senior High School 6 South Bengkulu using the CIPP evaluation model (Context, Input, Process, Product). The study is urgent as effective school leadership is essential to ensure P5 as a strategic program for character development in Indonesian education. Using a qualitative case study approach, purposive sampling was applied to select the principal, project coordinator, teachers, and students. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed thematically. Findings show that the principal’s role is aligned with school needs and national policies (context), facilitates module preparation and manages resources (input), establishes teams and supervises implementation (process), and enhances teacher performance, student engagement, and character development (product). Key challenges include limited funding, low student motivation, and difficulties in developing relevant project themes. The study recommends strengthening leadership and teacher capacity, improving financial and institutional support, and promoting adaptive policies to sustain P5 implementation.

Abstract

Educational funding is increasingly expected to generate measurable instructional impact; however, many schools still struggle to translate available budgets into effective teaching and learning practices. This condition creates an urgent need for research that examines not only how much funding is provided, but how efficiently it is managed at the school level. This study aims to analyze how school budgets can be transformed into instructional impact through efficient financial management using an evaluative perspective. Employing a qualitative case study with a CIPP evaluation framework, the research was conducted at a public junior high school in Central Bengkulu, Indonesia. The population comprised school management and teachers, and participants were selected through purposive sampling to ensure information-rich data. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis using interview guides, observation protocols, and financial document checklists as research instruments. The findings reveal that instructional financial efficiency is achieved when participatory planning, disciplined implementation, reflective evaluation, and systematic follow-up operate coherently. The study offers novelty by applying the CIPP model specifically to instructional financing at the school level and providing empirical evidence linking budgets directly to classroom practices. It is recommended that schools institutionalize teacher participation in budgeting, strengthen evaluation mechanisms tied to instructional outcomes, and consistently use evaluation results to refine budgets.
