Abstract

Abstract

In the scriptures it is clear that Mary was chosen by God to conceive and give birth to Jesus, the Son of God. This special role is both a gift and a task that Mary received in the complete obedience of faith. She listens to the word of God and carries it out with the spirituality of the servant and disciple. Many studies on Mary highlight aspect of motherhood and servant spirituality. Meanwhile, the dimension of Mary's discipleship has received less attention. So this research explores the spirit of Mary’s discipleship in the texts of the scriptures. The aspect of Mary's discipleship is then reviewed for its relevance to today’s followers of Christ (disciples). The bibliography method was used in this research process to find and formulate a synthesis of Mary's discipleship as an inspiration for Church discipleship. The results of the research show that Mary was not only a mother of Jesus and a spiritual mother for Christ’s followers, but also a true disciple, and a role model of discipleship for Church in all ages.

Abstract

The way of life of the early Church written in Acts 2:41-47 is a model of Christian life for the Church throughout the ages. The spirit that underlies this way of life is a communitarian-eucharistic spirit, namely a communion centered on Christ that is present in the eucharistic meal. The fundamental question regarding this is how this spirit was lived by the early congregation and inspired the Church today. To answer this question, this research was conducted using the literature study method. The research results are discussed using a descriptive analysis approach to provide an overview of the communitarian-eucharistic spirit lived by the early congregation and draw out its relevance for the Church today. In this way, this communitarian-eucharistic spirit can animate the life of the Church today in its liturgical duties, preaching, communion, service and witness of faith in contextual society.

The Atoin Meto community communally has a philosophy of life that serves as the foundation of their lives, which is known as nekaf mese asnaof mese. The philosophy of life is oriented towards the facilitation of cultural exchange and the consolidation of collective identity. Therefore, the objective of this study is to examine the manner in which the life philosophy of nekaf mese ansaof mese is employed to enhance cultural relations and the identity of the Atoin Meto in the Sacato-Wini region. This study used a qualitative method with a literature approach and in-depth interviews. The results indicated that the value of nekaf mese ansaof mese is internalized through social practices such as gotong royong (hena loak), customary deliberation (nifuni), and cultural rituals (el'ana, ela'naek, pah banu). These practices foster solidarity, peaceful conflict resolution, and reconciliation among diverse identities. Furthermore, this value serves to reinforce the spiritual connection that exists between humans, nature, and the Transcendent. Consequently, Nekaf Mese Ansaof Mese is instrumental in fostering inclusive intercultural relations and fortifying local and national identities in the context of globalization and the challenges posed by modernity.

Abstract

The background of this article is the awareness of the importance of the law of love as a special language of religion (Christianity) for universal human civilization. The author realizes that conventional legal languages, both civil and moral, are not enough to provide a solid normative basis for the transnational cohesion project fought for in cosmopolitanism. The Christian law of love written by Paul in the text of Romans 12:9-21 can be an alternative answer amidst the flow of cosmopolitanism's search for a religious legal language in supporting world peace. The method used is library research with a comparative descriptive analysis approach. On the one hand, there is a description of the law of love from Paul's perspective, and on the other hand, there is a comparison of ideas with cosmopolitanism that is developing today. So this article aims to describe the law of love according to Paul in the text of Romans 12:9-21 and its theoretical and practical relevance in the discourse of cosmopolitanism. The expected result is a new perspective on cosmopolitanism based on the law of love formulated by Paul in the text of Romans 12:9-13.

Abstract

The expression salt and light of the world in the text of Matthew 5:13-16 is interpreted allegorically as the value of the gospel that is lived throughout life. This value is lived by carrying out the three tasks of Christ as priest, prophet and king in the general priesthood based on the sacrament of baptism. This means that the mission to become salt and light of the world is also carried out by the laity. This ideal insight still has a gap in practice. This happens because of the lack of literacy of the laity about the duties of the general priesthood as priest, prophet and king received based on the sacrament of baptism. This article discusses this problem by examining the text of Matthew 5:13-16 about salt and light of the world. The research method used is the literature review method with descriptive analysis of the allegorical meaning of salt and light of the world, and its inspiration for the mission of the laity in the world order. The result is a growing understanding among the laity to realize their mission in the perspective of becoming salt and light of the world. This understanding will lead to a missionary praxis that is increasingly evident.

Abstract

The apostolic task of preaching the gospel is God's own call and choice. Paul realized this and admitted that his choice as an apostle was not his efforts and merits, but was God's loving kindness. Therefore, in carrying out his apostolic duties, Paul truly carried them out with the spirituality of a servant of Jesus Christ. This research aims to describe Paul's apostleship in Romans 1:1-7. Researchers use text studies and literature studies as research methodologies. This article explains the explanation of Paul who was called, singled out and given the position of apostle, as well as how Paul carried out his apostleship. The final result of this research is that the author presents his theological ideas and reflections as an entry point for the Church to live its apostolate today.
