Abstract

Tujuan  penelitian  ini  adalah  untuk  mengangkat  masalah  tentang  sejarah  serta  dinamika pembaharuan lembaga pendidikan Islam di Indonesia: Surau, Pesantren, dan Madrasah . Islam merupakan komponen terpenting dalam membentuk dan mewarnai corak kehidupan hidup masyarakat. Pendidikan merupakan salah satu yang mendapat dampak signifikan dari penyebaran Islam. Perkembangan pendidikan Islam di Indonesia antara lain ditandai oleh munculnya berbagai lembaga pendidikan secara bertahap, mulai dari yang sangat sederhana, sampai dengan yang sudah terhitung modern dan lengkap. Salah satu tempat pembelajaran pada masa awal kedudukan Islam di Nusatara diantaranya surau, pesantren dan madrasah. Sejarah lembaga pendidikan di Nusantara sangat panjang, sehingga tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan sejarah dan dinamika lembaga pendidikan Islam di Nusantara. Perkembangan lembaga pendidikan Islam merupakan dampak dari perubahan perilaku masyarakat. Penelitian ini  menggunakan  metode  penelitian  kepustakaan  (library  research),  yang  dimaksudkan  untuk memandu  pengumpulan  berbagai  informasi  dan  data  yang  didukung  oleh  berbagai  sumber  yang mencakup  topik-topik  yang  akan  dibahas.  Hasil  penelitian  dapat  disimpulkan  bahwa  surau  bagi masyarakat Minangkabau mempunyai banyak fungsi, tidak hanya sebagai tempat berkumpul, rapat, tempat tidur tetapi juga sebagai sarana pendidikan Islam. Pesantren merupakan lembaga pendidikan Islam yang tumbuh dan berkembang di Pulau Jawa dan hingga saat ini terus eksis dan dalam proses pembaharuan. Dan madrasah telah bertransformasi menjadi sistem pendidikan Islam modern sejak masa  Orde  Baru.  Transformasi  sistem  pendidikan  ini  terjadi  dalam  berbagai  dinamika.  Secara yuridis,  transformasi  madrasah  memposisikan  madrasah  pada  level  yang  sama  dengan  sekolah umum terutama pada aspek kurikulum namun tetap mempertahankan karakteristik sebagai sekolah Islam.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran Madrasah Nizhamiyah dalam penyebaran ajaran ortodoksi Sunni pada masa Dinasti Saljuk. Madrasah ini, yang didirikan oleh Nizham al-Mulk pada abad ke-11, berfungsi tidak hanya sebagai pusat pendidikan agama tetapi juga sebagai alat untuk memperkuat ideologi Sunni di tengah pengaruh Syi'ah yang berkembang. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis sejarah, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Madrasah Nizhamiyah memiliki peran strategis dalam menyebarkan ajaran Sunni melalui kurikulum yang mencakup fiqih Syafi’i, teologi Asy’ariyah, dan ilmu duniawi lainnya. Lulusan madrasah ini berperan penting sebagai ulama, qadhi, dan guru, memperkuat doktrin Sunni di berbagai wilayah Islam. Selain itu, madrasah ini juga menjadi simbol penyebaran ajaran Sunni yang mendukung stabilitas politik Dinasti Saljuk dan turut melawan pengaruh Syi'ah, serta berkontribusi dalam pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan yang memperkaya peradaban Islam pada masa itu.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji sistem pendidikan Islam pada masa Khulafaur Rasyidin serta relevansinya terhadap kebutuhan pendidikan di era modern. Masa pemerintahan Khulafaur Rasyidin yang dipimpin oleh Abu Bakar As-Siddiq, Umar bin Khattab, Utsman bin Affan, dan Ali bin Abi Thalib memberikan landasan penting bagi pendidikan Islam, yang mengintegrasikan pembelajaran agama dengan nilai-nilai moral, sosial, dan keilmuan praktis. Penelitian menggunakan metode library research dengan pendekatan historis-kritis untuk menganalisis literatur primer dan sekunder yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan Islam pada masa tersebut bersifat holistik, mengedepankan pembentukan karakter, keteladanan, dan penyebaran ilmu pengetahuan untuk kemaslahatan umat. Setiap khalifah memberikan kontribusi unik dalam memajukan pendidikan, seperti pelestarian Al-Qur'an oleh Abu Bakar, penyebaran ilmu ke berbagai wilayah oleh Umar, standarisasi mushaf Al-Qur'an oleh Utsman, dan pengembangan logika serta retorika oleh Ali. Pendidikan ini tidak hanya dilakukan secara formal di masjid dan halaqah, tetapi juga melalui keteladanan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Implikasi terhadap pendidikan modern meliputi pentingnya pendidikan berbasis karakter, integrasi nilai-nilai agama dengan pengetahuan umum, dan peran aktif keluarga serta komunitas. Pendidikan masa kini dapat belajar dari pendekatan praktis dan humanis pada masa Khulafaur Rasyidin untuk membangun generasi yang tidak hanya cerdas, tetapi juga bermoral tinggi dan mampu memberikan kontribusi sosial. Temuan ini diharapkan menjadi landasan dalam mengembangkan sistem pendidikan Islam yang relevan dengan tantangan era globalisasi.

Abstract

Islamization emerged because of the concerns of Muslim intellectuals who saw that Muslims were in crisis due to the application of secular-based Western science. The secular concept of science is not suitable for Muslims because it separates religion from science. So far, Islam is believed to have a very important role in coloring the building of science. However, in reality, Muslim society seems to be forced to implement secular teachings in life because of the rapid flow of secularization. This condition is a concern for Islamic thinkers, because it could endanger Islamic faith. Thus, a critical opinion emerged from a Muslim scholar who came up with the idea of ​​the Islamization of science, namely Ismail Raji Al-Faruqi and Syad Naquib Al-Attas. Both of them saw that the phenomenon of scientific development had deviated from Islamic teachings. So that it has the impact of someone becoming secular. This research aims to discuss the Islamization of science according to the thoughts of Ismail Raji Al-Faruqi and Syad Naquib Al-Attas. The method used in this research is a research library, by collecting previous articles and sources. The results of this research reveal that Al-Faruqi and Al-Attas have similarities in their thinking, namely that they both think that the main problem of the Muslim crisis is science developed by the West.

Abstract

The Umayyad period marked an important phase in the history of Islamic education, where there were significant developments in educational institutions, curricula, and the teaching of various religious and worldly sciences. The discussion about the Umayyad dynasty uses the method used is library research, namely by collecting data by understanding and studying theories from various literature. The results of educational policy during the Umayyad Daulah era were heavily influenced by political interests, which caused education to be concentrated among the elite. However, there were also positive developments, such as the formation of early madrasas and the widespread teaching of Islamic sciences, such as the Koran, hadith, fiqh, and Arabic language sciences. Caliphs and scholars played an important role in spreading education and establishing intellectual traditions that would later influence Islam's subsequent glory days, such as under the Abbasid Daula. Islamic education during the Umayyad period played a strategic role in the development of knowledge and the spread of Islamic teachings, even though it was colored by political and social dynamics.

Abstract

Education is a very important thing in life. A person can be said to be human if he has knowledge. The phenomenon that occurs in education today, especially in Indonesian Education, can still be said to be less effective, because there are still many shortcomings that result in unemployment, conflict, and crime that occurs everywhere (loss of adab). So this article was written with the aim of exploring knowledge about Education that had previously been successful in its time which was able to form the best generation of civilization which could change the lives of sinful people into responsible high officials and make poor people into great scholars who are famous until now. The concept of education is Ahlu Suffah which was founded by the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Ahlu Suffah is one proof of how education should be applied in everyday life. so that the knowledge gained can become sweet fruit for yourself  for others.

Abstract

Surau Tinggi Calau is one of the relics of Islamic history that has a major contribution in the spread of Islam in Minangkabau, especially in Muaro Sijunjung nagari and its teachings are still being studied and practiced by the local community and people outside Sijunjung. This article aims to discuss three main aspects: the history of the establishment of Surau Tinggi Calau, the architectural form of Surau Tinggi Calau and the function of Surau Tinggi Calau in the development of Islamic education in Minangkabau. The method used in this research is a historical research method written in an analytical descriptive manner with steps or stages, namely: 1) Heuristics, 2) Source Criticism, 3) Interpretation, 4) Historiography. The results of this study indicate that Surau Tinggi Calau is one of the cultural heritages and Islamic history that has an important role in the development of education in Minangkabau, especially in Muaro Sijunjung nagari. The establishment of Surau Tinggi Calau is inseparable from the struggle of a great scholar named Sheikh Abdul Wahab around the 17th century. He taught Islam which was guided by the Syafi'i school of thought with the syattariyah tarekat school. Surau Tinggi Calau has a distinctive shape, at first glance this surau does not look like a house of worship in general, but this surau is in the form of a gadang house with a six-pitched roof, reflecting aesthetic values and local wisdom. This surau functions not only as a place of worship, but also as an Islamic educational institution and teaching center for the Syattariah order.
