Abstract

Mamar Desa Beaneno berfungsi untuk menjaga kelestarian sumber mata air, penunjang ekonomi masyarakat serta tempat melakukan seremonial adat Desa Beaneno. Namun, dalam perkembangannya terjadi penurunan produktivitas mamar Desa Beaneno akibat perubahan kondisi biofisiknya seperti usia vegetasi penyusun mamar dan kepadatan kerapatan tajuk. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur dan komposisi serta status regenerasi mamar Desa Beaneno. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik analisis vegetasi dengan peletakan plot secara stratified systematic sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa struktur tegakan pada sistem mamar Desa Beaneno berada dalam kondisi normal/seimbang, dimana proses regenerasi dapat berlangsung karena tersedia permudaan dalam jumlah yang mencukupi, dengan komposisi pada mamar ditemukan sebanyak 14 jenis pada tingkat semai, 5 jenis pada tingkat pancang, 4 jenis pada tingkat tiang dan 12 jenis pada tingkat pohon. Pinang merupakan jenis yang dominan hampir pada setiap tingkatan pertumbuhan. Status regenerasi pada mamar Desa Beaneno menunjukkan bahwa dari 19 jenis memiliki status regenerasi yang berbeda, dimana 1 jenis berstatus ‘baik’, 8 jenis berstatus ‘baru beregenerasi’, 1 jenis berstatus ‘buruk’, 3 jenis berstatus ‘cukup’ dan 6 jenis berstatus ‘tidak beregenerasi’. Mamar berperan sangat penting dimana, mamar sebagai tempat ritual adat, penyembah para leluhur dan adanya mata air yang dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat Desa Beaneno.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine land cover, land cover change and forest cover density in the Tenihawu river basin of Sabu Raijua Regency from 1998, 2008 and 2018. To find out what forest land cover is, you can use the Object method (OBIS / Object Based Image Segmentation)) and NDVI (Nomal Different Vegetation Index) to determine the density of forest land cover and tested using an error matrix. The data collected is primary data and secondary data. Primary data, namely Landsat-5 image material in 1999 and 2009, Landsat-8 image material in 2018 can be accessed via USG Glovis and secondary data from various library sources, documentation and from the publication of relevant agencies The results showed that the forest cover in the Tenihawu river basin amounted to 1101.02 Ha (36%) in 1.999, 862.77 Ha (28%) in 2009 and 683.78 Ha (22%) in 2018. Changes in forest cover in the Tenihawu basin will decrease from 1999 to 2009 by 238.25 Ha and from 2009 to 2018 by 178.99 Ha. The use of land in each village in the Tenihawu watershed are influenced by physiographic conditions and landforms, as it has a terrain structure and can have an impact on land use. False land use patterns can lead to critical land. The rapid development has led to changes in land use patterns, which space is increasingly dominated and nature spaces are being forced to change functions such as the conversion of land into paddy fields, plantations and settlements. The intrusion into the forest also leads to the loss of waste and humus, which can absorb rainwater. These events have a large scale that the behavior of the river are disturbed, while in the rainy season, the flow of the river significantly increases and the dry season, the flow of water is very low. In addition, the population is also a factor in changing land cover from a socio-economic point of view, namely the level of income of people around the forest, the needs and dependence of the population on forest products.

Abstract

Deer is a source of animal wealth in Indonesia, consisting of four endemic species, namely: Muntjak Deer (Muntiacus muntjak), Bawean Deer (Axis kuhlii), Sambar Deer (Cervus unicolor), and Timor Deer (Russa timorensis). Timor deer is a species of tropical deeroriginating from Java, often found in various Indonesian archipelago both in its natural habitat and in captivity, management of Timor deer under the Directorate General of Forestry, Nature Conservation and the Ministry of Forestry, its existence is feared to be extinct by the threat of poaching and habitat destruction (Lelono, 2003). The Timor deer (deer timorensis) is one of the most protected wildlife in Indonesia, based on the regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia number P.106 in 2018 on species of plants and animals Protected, from all forms of hunting, arrest and possession. Field observations are used for two periods, the first period is 06.00 - 10.00 and the second period is 15.00 - 18.00 which is used in data collection for the home range is the Minimum Convex Polygon method and the most commonly used is core utilization or regional data collection, the kernel utilization distribution method. The results showed that the area of deer Timor was scattered in the region, with the area of Timor deer exploration in TWA Menipo Island area of 3425 km2 or 306 hectares (Ha) (12.49% of the total area of TWA Menipo Island) and the core area of 1776 km2 or 170 hectares (Ha) (6.94% of the total area of TWA Menipo Island).

Abstract

Burung merupakan salah satu jenis satwa liar yang banyak dimanfaatkan oleh manusiasebagai bahan makanan, binatang peliharaan, pemenuhan kebutuhan ekonomi, dan estetika(Darmawan 2006). Burung-burung di Rote adalah bagian dari avifauna Timor, dengan banyakkesamaan dengan Semau, sampai saat ini tercatat 157 spesies termasuk sekitar 70 landbirds telahdicatat, dari sebagian burung di pulau Timor belum ditemukan di pulau Rote hal ini karena kurangnyahabitat yang sesuai. Secara keseluruhan endemik burung di Rote sangat tinggi, lebih dari 20 landbirdssekitar 30% dari total spesies burung yang ditemukan merupakan spesies yang masuk dalamrestricted spesies. (verbalen,et,al 2017). SM Harlu merupakan salah satu kawasan konservasi yangditunjuk melalui keputusan menteri kehutanan Nomor :84/kpts-II/1993, tanggal 16 februari 1993dengan luas 2000 ha, dan ditetapkan melalui keputusan menteri kehutanan Nomor :3911/MenhutVII/Kuh/2014 dengan luas 2.262 Ha. Memiliki potensi fauna yang didominasi oleh jenis aves. Olehkarena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui tingkat keanekaragaman jenis burung yang adadalam kawasan SM Harlu. Pengambilan data dengan menggunakan metode MacKinnon, Pengamatandilakukan dengan cara menjelajah dan menghitung setiap individu yang ditemui. Penjelajahandilakukan secara acak. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh menggunakan metode MacKinnon di analisismenggunakan Rumus Indeks keanekaragaman jenis, Indeks kemerataan, Indeks kekayaan jenis.Kelimpahan relatife jenis, kurva Kekayaan Jenis macKinnon, dan Frekuensi Penemuan Jenis. Dalampenelitian ini ditemukan 34 jenis burung dari 21 famili dengan total individu 370 individu, terdapat 1jenis burung endemik Rote dan 6 jenis burung migran dengan Indeks keanekaragaman H sebesar 3,36,indeks kekayaa 5,58 dan indeks kemerataan 0,85 dan Jenis burung isap madu Australia dan kipasandada hitam memiliki presentasi kelimpahan relatif yang tinggi yaitu 7.30 dan Frekuensi penemuanjenis burung yang di tinggi dimiliki oleh jenis burung Decu timor dengan nilai 0,7

Abstract

A forest product not only focuses on the wood potential, but also focuses on the other such as wood output (FPNW). The use of woven fabric dyes is one of the Forest Products Not Wood that used by the Sumba community. This study aims to (1) Identify the availability and distribution of woven dyes in the customary forest area of the Rindi Watershed, especiallynin the Village of Rindi, Sub-District of Rindi, East Sumba District. (2) Know the varieties of plants used for natural dyes in Rindi Village, Rindi Sub-district, East Sumba District. It is conducted from Maret to May 2020 in Rindi Village, Rindi Sub-district, East Sumba District by using the vegetation analysis method, interview and literature studies. This Study shows that there are two successfully identified species of the Rubiceae family, namely Noni (Morinda citrifolia L.) and Indigo in the family of Fabaceae (Indigofera tinctoria L.). The important value index of Mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia L.) is 203.96 amount and high classified in this land, while the IndigoferaTinctoria L. is found 27.5 amount as the medium one. The spread of woven fabrics' dyes on many wild plants has resulted unevenly spreading, where it is found around forests, farmland and thickets. The root of Noni will produce the color of red, while the blue color is produced by the leaves of Indigo plant.

Abstract

Bridle turtles belong to endangered species caused by natural events around the habitat of the delineation, theft of turtle eggs, utilization of turtle body parts by humans or the increase of natural predators. The Area of Bena Plain Labor Park is one of the locations of the conservation of the Lekang Turtle species(Lepidochelys olivaceae)but the state of its habitat is not yet known on the beach. This research was conducted with the aim to be able to know the state of the habitat of the lectory turtles (Lepidochelys olivaceae) that has been conducted in August-September 2020. The types of data collected in the form of primary data are beach slope, beach width, sand grain size, natural predator sand surface temperature, vegetation, nest distance from the highest tide limit, depth and diameter of nests and secondary data in the form of nest count data and number of eggs in September 2015-2019. The data is analyzed descriptively qualitatively and descriptive statistics. The results showed that the time of eviction occurs a lot at 23.18 WITA – 00.12 WITA. As for the slope of the beach is classified as tilted and is a suitable slope, the average width of the beach is 34 m, with a range of medium to rough sand grain size. The surface temperature of natural and semi-natural nests are different, the most natural predators are beach crabs and wild dogs, vegetation that dominates marine firs with moderate uniformity value. The average distance from the highest tide limit is 21.2 m, the depth is 42.8 cm, and the diameter is 17.8 cm. So it can be said that the physical condition of the beach of Bena Plain Labor Park as a place where the abandonment of bridle turtles (Lepidochelys olivacea) is in a fairly good condition although there are still some disturbances or threats but can still be resolved.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the diversity of bird species. This research was conducted at TWA Bipolo, Bipolo Village, Sulamu District, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. This research was held for 1 month, from March to April 2020. This study used the observation method and the Mackinnon method. The data were processed using the Shannon Wiener diversity index (H'), Evenness Index (E), Frequency (F), Margalef Wealth Index (R), and vegetation analysys. The results showed that the birds found in Bipolo TWA were 23 species of birds from 16 families with a total of 219 individuals. The most common bird species found was the Cucak Kutilang (Pynonotus aurigaster) with 29 individuals and the least found was the Delimukan Zamrud (Chalcophaps indica) with 1 individually. The results of the calculation of bird species diversity in Bipolo TWA were calculated using the Shannon Wienner index of 2.85 (H'), TWA Bipolo is moderate (H' 2-3). The evenness index of bird species in TWA Bipolo is moderate with a value (E=0.52). The highest frequency of bird species in the TWA Bipolo area is Cucak Kutilang (Pynonotus aurigaster) with a frequency value of 1.66, relative frequency of 19.03% and the lowest frequency of availability is the Delimukan Zamrud bird (Chalcophaps indica) with a frequency value of 0.09, the relative frequency of 1.03 %. The bird species wealth index in TWA Bipolo of (R = 4.08) is quite high. The plants that dominate in the area guava species with the Important Value Index of 438.988 and are found in all categories.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine Feed Preferences and Their Influence on the Growth of the Rote Snake Neck Turtle (C. mccordi) in Oelsonbai Special Purpose Forest Areas, Fatukoa Sub-district, Maulafa District, Kupang City. This research was conducted from September to November 2021. Data collection on feed preferences and the effect of feed on growth used the observation method. Analysis of feed preference data used the Neu Index criteria calculation formula and growth data analysis used the growth and growth rate calculation formulas. The results showed that the type of feed that consumed the most was skipjack tuna. Through the calculation of feed preferences, the results obtained that the type of feed with the highest preference index was skipjack tuna, followed by tilapia, and the type of feed with the lowest level of preference was kombong fish. The results of the proximate analysis and literature study on the nutrients contained in the feed showed that the nutrients contained in tilapia, skipjack, and kombong needed C. mccordi for growth. Good food for growth and health of C. mccordi is shellfish. Skipjack tuna can be given as the main feed while tilapia and cockroach are given as additional feed. Feeding effect on the growth of C. mccordi. In general, the observation parameters experienced normal growth from the beginning to the end of the study week.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the level of diversity and community perception of the existence of mangrove vegetation in Tiwatobi village, East Flores regency, East Nusa Tenggara province. This research is survey research. Based on the data collection techniques, this study employed observation techniques on 13 Mangrove plots measuring 2m x 2m, 5m x 5m, and 10m x 10m to determine the diversity of mangrove vegetation. Furthermore, the interview technique and the distribution of the questionnaire to 82 respondents based on the Slovin formula were carried out to specify community perceptions of mangrove vegetation. The results revealed five types of mangroves grouped into three families. The most elevated relative density at the tree level was RhyzophotaMucronata (29.94), and the lowest was Bruguiera Parviflora which was 11.98. Based on the pile and stake levels, the highest relative density values were occupied by Bruguiera Parviflora (42.59), Munto (26.03). RhyzophoraStylosa (0.0) and Bruguiera parviflora (13.01) had the lowest relative density values. Bruguiera Parviflora is the species with the highest density of all levels, with a density value of 42.59. Meanwhile, RhyzophoraStylose has the lowest relative density value of 0.0. The outcomes of this study also confirmed that the vegetation of the mangrove ecosystem in Tiwatobi village, the index of importance, diversity, and richness of mangrove vegetation with the classification of 'medium' value caused by the environmental circumstances of mangroves that grow on muddy substrates and only a few species that can grow. In addition, community activities on the coast also vandalize the mangrove ecosystem, especially for the mooring land construction to meet the family's economy. Furthermore, the community's perception of mangrove vegetation existence has a critical role in the viewpoints of physical, ecological, and economic, as evidenced by the positive response to the existence, function, and preservation of mangrove forests in Tiwatobi village.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the types of medicinal plants, and how to process the medicinal plants whice used by the community around the Koa Forets, Linamnutu Village, South of Amanuban Districts, South Central Timor Regency. This research was conducted from November 2019 to October 2019. This research was conducted with qualitative descriptive data collection techiques, with primary data in the form of interview, observations and documentation. The data processing stage is carnied out by compiling, identification, classification and data analysis the parts of the plant used, presentation of parts used, how to concoch and how to use. The result of the study and the result of interview with respondents showed that there were is thypes of medicinal plants used by community around the Koa Forest, Linamnutu Village, South of Amanuban Districts, South Central Timor Regency.Thypes of medicinal plants consist of Bunga Putih/Sufmuti (chromolaena odorata L. ), Mahoni ( Swietenia mahagoni ), Kesambi/ Usapi(schleicheraoleosa), JambuBiji ( Psidium guajava L.), Atta/ Srikaya (Annona Squamosa), PariaHutan(Momordica balsamina), Sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata), Marungga/Kelor (Moringa oleifera), Flolo/ Faloak ( Sterculia quadrifida) Alang-Alang (Impereta cylindrical), Kayu Merah (Pinus Sylvestris), Delima(Punica granatum), Kiu/ Asam (Tamarindus indica), Feu / Kemiri (Aleurites moluccana), and Damar (Agathis dammara). Medicinal plants parts whice used were Leaf, Fruits, Seed, Outher shell, Sap, and Root and the highest usage presentation is on the leaf of plant that is 32% and the lowest presentation was in the sap part that is 4 %. The process of making medicine is still using a simple method, that is : pound or grind and boil with water. While the method of using the medicinal plans is to be smeared or sprinkled on the part that hurts, Or drink and consumed directly.
