Abstract

Latar belakang: Latar Belakang: Musculoskeletal Disoders (MSDs) merupakan sebuah cedera yang mempengaruhi gerakan system tubuh manusia seperti otot, tendon, Ligament, Saraf, Pembuluh darah dan lainnya. Penyebab gangguan Musculoskeletal Disoders (MSDs) berasal dari faktor eksternal dan internal. Salah satunya Pengetahuan Terapis Gigi dan Mulut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengetahuan terapis gigi dan mulut terhadap risiko terjadinya Musculoskeletal Disoders (MSDs). Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode Observational Analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional terhadap terapis gigi dan mulut. Jumlah Responden 30 orang dan pemberian intervensi Pre-post berupa Poster dan Video Edukasi. Pengolahan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan aplikasi SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) version 20 untuk setiap analisis setelah didapatkan hasilnya kemudian analisis data dilakukan melalui uji pired samples t test. Hasil uji paired samples test nilai p-value 0,000 artinya pengetahuan Terapis Gigi dan Mulut berpengaruh terhadap risiko terjadinya Musculoskeletal Disoders (MSDs). Kesimpulan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pengetahuan Terapis Gigi dan Mulut terhadap risiko terjadinya Musculoskeletal disoders (MSDs) di Kota Kendari. Hal ini dibuktikan dibuktikan secara statistic dan signifikan mendapat p-value adalah 0,000 dan Pengetahuan Terapis Gigi dan Mulut berada pada kategori baik dengan persentase sebanyak 76,6%.

Abstract

Oral health promotion is a preventive effort aimed at increasing awareness and healthy behaviors from an early age. This study was conducted in Bajo Soropia Indah Village to evaluate the effectiveness of oral health promotion in improving children's knowledge and tooth brushing habits. The methods used included health education, demonstration of proper tooth brushing techniques, topical fluoride application, and plaque index examination as an indicator of oral hygiene. The results showed that all child participants (n=6) had poor plaque index scores (100%). Following the implementation of the health promotion program, an increase in knowledge and a shift in behavior regarding oral hygiene are expected. The findings emphasize the importance of educational interventions and routine check-ups in preventing dental and oral diseases among children in remote areas. Community-based health promotion programs have proven to be a relevant approach in improving children's oral health status.

Abstract

Alpinia monopleura is a plant that belongs to the Alpinia genus family which is a large genus of the Zingiberaceae family, which is widespread in many tropical regions including Indonesia. Antimicrobial compounds owned by wundu watu leaves include volatile oils, lignin, saponins, flavonoids, diterpenoids, and phenylpropanoids. The purpose of this study was to determine the inhibition of wundu watu leaves (Alpinia monopleura) against the growth of Streptococcus mutans bacteria. The type of research used is laboratory experimental, namely 5 treatment groups where 3 groups of Wundu watu leaf extracts with concentrations of 20%, 40%, and 60%, and 2 control groups, namely positive control (Amoxillin), and negative control (sterile Aquades). The inhibition test was carried out using the well method against Streptococcus mutans bacteria for 24 hours and then incubated at 37ºC which then measured the inhibition (mm). Measurement of the inhibition test was carried out using a caliper. The results showed that wundu watu leaf extract (Alpinia monopleura) can inhibit the growth of Streptococcus mutans bacteria with a weak category with an average diameter of the inhibition zone for concentrations of 20% which is 00 mm, 40% which is 0.3 mm, 60% which is 1.38 mm, positive control Amoxilllin which is 22.54 mm and negative control sterile distilled water which is 0.0 mm. Based on the Kruskall Wallis test results obtained sig 0,011 (sig < 0.05), it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in the diameter of the inhibition zone at various concentrations.

Abstract

Saat ini, perawatan gigi harus disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan dan kondisi kesehatan gigi, salah satunya adalah pemilihan bentuk sediaan produk gigi. Serbuk gigi memiliki keunggulan seperti membersihkan plak, sisa makanan, mencegah pembentukan karang gigi, dan memberikan nafas segar. Salah satu bahan herbal yang digunakan dalam obat-obatan oral adalah biji pinang (Areca catechu L.). Biji pinang mengandung alkaloid, flavonoid, tanin, saponin, dan polifenol sebagai senyawa antibakteri. Beberapa studi menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol biji pinang dapat menghambat bakteri seperti Staphylococcus aureus dan Streptococcus mutans. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memformulasi serbuk gigi berbasis herbal bubuk pinang, cengkeh, dan kayu manis serta dan kemampuannya untuk menghambat bakteri penyebab plak dan karies gigi. Metode penelitian ialah eksperimental yang dibuat dalam 3 konsentrasi (F1, F2, dan F3). Evaluasi meliputi organoleptik, homogenitas, pH, kadar air, dan cycling test. Aktivitas antibakteri menggunakan metode sumur agar pada bakteri Streptococcus mutans. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bubuk pinang, cengkeh, dan kayu manis dapat dibuat menjadi formula pasta gigi herbal. Hasil evaluasi sediaan menunjukkan pada formula F1, F2, F3 berwarna coklat, rasa agak manis, aroma khas mint dan homogen. Pengujian pH sebesar 6,5 – 6,8. Pengujian kadar air dengan kisaran 4,9 % - 6,1%. Pada uji cycling test menunjukkan formula F1, F2 dan F3 tidak mengalami perubahan selama penyimpanan 6 siklus. Hasil uji antibakteri menunjukkan hanya formula F3 yang memiliki daya hambat yaitu sebesar 3,6 mm sedangkan kontrol positif serbuk gigi “x” sebesar 0 mm. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa serbuk gigi herbal dapat dijadikan alternatif untuk pengobatan plak dan karis gigi

Abstract

ABSTRACT            Aloe Vera and Citrus Limon are herbal plants that have various properties as antibacterial and antimicrobial. The active ingredients in aloe vera are anthraquinones, saponins, tannins, flavonoids, alkaloids and phenolics from phytochemical tests that act as antimicrobials and antibacterials. The substance that has many antibacterial properties in lemons is citric acid which is the main organic acid contained in lemon juice. Streptococcus sp is a bacterium commonly found after tooth extraction.                     This study aims to determine the effectiveness of aloe vera and citrus limon extracts as antibacterials with Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) against Streptococcus sp. Using Quasy Experiment pretest-posttest with control group design. Sampling was done by identifying tooth extraction tools exposed to Streptococcus sp media Nutrient Agar (NA). Bacterial testing using spectrophotometry is a fast way to count the number of bacteria in a solution using the liquid dilution method. Subjects were the concentration intervention group, namely 50%, 45%, 35%, 20%, 15%, 10%, 5%. This research uses a pharmaceutical chemistry laboratory and a microbiology laboratory. The results showed that the 5% concentration had effective bacterial inhibition against Streptococcus sp as evidenced by a large absorption value. The conclusion shows the combination of Aloe Vera and Citrus Limon extracts had a greater inhibitory power against Streptococcus sp.

Abstract

latarbelakang: flour merupakan unsur kimia yang paling mempengaruhi presentase karie gigi. flour bekerja untuk menghentikan metabolisme bakteri plak,  yang memiliki kemampuan untuk memfermentasikan karbohidrat melalui konservasi hidroksiapatid pada email menjadi flourapatit. Flour apatit menghasilkan email yang tahan terhadap pelatutan asam, yang menghambat demineralisasi dan mendorong remineralisasi yang merangsang perbaikan dan penghentian karies. Karies gigi merupakan penyakit pada jaringan karies gigi yaitu email, dentin dan cement yang disebabkan oleh aktivitas karbohidtar yang dapat beragi. Karies gigi merupakan infeksi rongga mulut yang paling banyak ditemukan pada anak usia dini hingga usia lanjut. Tujuan penelitian : ini adalah uneuk mengetahui hubungan kandungan kadar fluor air minum dengan karies gigi pada masyarakat pesisir di desa telaga biru kecamatan soropia. Jenis penelitian Obsevasional Analitik menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah 79 orang yang termasuk kriteria insklusif dengan teknik pengambilan sampel adalah teknik porposiv sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan kadar flour air minum dengan karies gigi pada masyarakat pesisir di desa telaga biru kecamatan soropia. Kesimpulan kadar fluor air minum masyarakat pesisir desa telaga biri kecamatan soropia termasuk dengan kriteria rendah dengan jumlah 52 orang (66%) dan karies gigi gigi masyarakat pesisir desa telaga biri kecamatan soropia termasuk dengan kriteria sangat tinggi dengan jumlah 32 orang( 41%).

Abstract

Introduction: Dental caries remains a prevalent global oral health problem primarily associated with Streptococcus mutans colonization and dental plaque accumulation. Increasing concerns about the prolonged use of synthetic antibacterial agents have prompted the exploration of plant-based alternatives. Alpinia monopleura, an endemic plant from Southeast Sulawesi, contains bioactive phytochemicals with reported antimicrobial activity. This study aimed to evaluate the antibacterial activity and antiplaque effectiveness of herbal toothpaste containing A. monopleura extract against S. mutans. Research Methodology: A quasi-experimental, randomized pre-test and post-test design was conducted involving 64 participants, allocated into two groups: F1 (20% A. monopleura extract) and F2 (30% A. monopleura extract). Antibacterial activity was assessed in vitro using the agar diffusion method against Streptococcus mutans (ATCC 25175). Clinical effectiveness was evaluated by measuring the plaque index before and after a 7-day intervention. Data were analyzed using paired and independent t-tests, followed by multivariate linear regression at α = 0.05. Results: The 30% formulation demonstrated stronger antibacterial activity with a mean inhibition zone of 14.92 mm compared to 6.87 mm in the 20% group. Both formulations significantly reduced plaque index scores. In F1, the mean plaque index decreased from 2.19 ± 0.69 to 1.34 ± 0.48 (p < 0.001), while in F2 it decreased from 2.50 ± 0.51 to 1.84 ± 0.37 (p < 0.001). Multivariate analysis confirmed extract concentration as a significant predictor of plaque reduction. Conclusion: Alpinia monopleura-based herbal toothpaste exhibits significant antibacterial activity against S. mutans and effectively reduces dental plaque. The 30% concentration shows superior antimicrobial potency, supporting its potential development as a natural dentifrice alternative for caries prevention.
