Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to improve the public speaking skills of PC Pemudi Persatuan Islam Rancaekek members. The training is designed to build confidence in public speaking, deliver messages clearly, and enhance communication skills within the organization. With strong speaking abilities, members are expected to be more confident in delivering dakwah and actively participating in organizational activities. The program uses the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach, which actively involves participants in the learning process. They are introduced to public speaking techniques, trained in effective speech delivery, and given opportunities to practice their skills in various situations. The training is conducted interactively to ensure participants can develop their abilities directly. The results show an improvement in participants' public speaking skills, both in message delivery and audience interaction. Additionally, the training helps create a more communicative organizational environment. Evaluations are conducted to ensure the program continues to develop and provide lasting benefits for members of women's dakwah organizations.

Abstract

In the current era, information can be easily spread widely, this is due to advances in information technology, namely new media. This study analyzes the communication style in accordance with the Communicator Style Measure (CSM) theory, on a a doctor in a YouTube video that discusses bullying and depression. The method used is Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis, which is a method to find out the denotative and connotative signs in a video show. The purpose of this study is to find out the communication style used by a doctor in a video that educates about depression caused by bullying. The results indicate that at the denotation level, bullying is not only physical violence but also verbal, such as teasing that is often taken as a joke. At the connotation level, the term "bullying" reflects domination, social power, and emotional trauma. The doctor adopts a relaxed, informal and expressive communication style to connect with the audience, especially teenagers. The video also exposes the myth that verbal bullying is not serious and that mental health education can only be done by professionals such as psychologists or psychiatrists. With a casual and inclusive approach, doctors are able to deliver educational messages effectively, while challenging the stigma associated with bullying and mental health in society. This research emphasizes the importance of social media as a relevant and adaptive health education tool in the digital age

Abstract

Kebebasan berpendapat dan berekspresi menjadi hak setiap orang di media sosial. Namun Hal ini menjadi berlebihan manakala tidak diimbangi dengan etika dalam bermedia sosial. Kegiatan ini berupa Penyuluhan atau edukasi terkait Etika bermedia sosial di mana Siswa dan siswi diberikan edukasi dan pemahaman etika media sosial, edukasi  pencegahan dan melawan  perundungan di media sosial dan edukasi mencegah pelecehan seksual di media sosial kepada siswa SMP dan SMA AL biruni. Populasi dalam kegiatan PKM ini adalah siswa dan siswi SMP dan SMA Al-Biruni  Bandung berjumlah 100(seratus) orang. Kegiatan ini dilakukan secara Daring dan Luring dengan menggunakan metode Ceramah, tutorial dan diskusi atau tanya jawab. kegiatan ini sejalan dengan program dan visi misi sekolah, sehingga dalam pelaksanaan berjalan lancar. Pemahaman Etika di media sosial pun  mengalami peningkatan dari sebelum test dan sesudah test. Dari rata-rata pemahaman 55, 22 meningkat menjadi 59,5. Mitra mengharapkan adanya kegiatan rutin yang masih berhubungan dengan tema pengmas kali ini sehingga adanya keberlanjutan kegiatan dan hasilnya bisa lebih terlihat. Selnjutnya,  penambahan jumlah mitra menjadi pertimbangan kegiatan selanjutnya, seperti keterlibatan Diskominfo, JAPELIDI (jaringan Pegiat literasi digital) atau yang sejenis agar lebih menambawah wawasan. penyebaran luasan poster pun harus lebih di perluas agar daya jangkaunya merata baik di setiap ruang sekolah atau informasi di media sosial instantsi terkait. The Ethics of Social Media in Middle and High School Student Environments in the City of Bandung as an Effort to Understand Digital Literacy Freedom of opinion and expression is everyone's right on social media. However, this becomes excessive when it is not balanced with ethics in social media. This activity is in the form of counseling or education related to social media ethics where students are given education and understanding of social media ethics, education on prevention and against bullying on social media and education on preventing sexual harassment on social media for AL Biruni Middle School and High School students. The population in this PKM activity was 100 (one hundred) students of SMP and SMA Al-Biruni Bandung. This activity is carried out online and offline using lecture, tutorial and discussion or question and answer methods. This activity is in line with the school's program, vision and mission, so that the implementation runs smoothly. Understanding of ethics on social media has also increased from before the test and after the test. From an average understanding of 55, 22 increased to 59.5. Partners hope that there will be routine activities that are still related to the theme of the Community Service this time so that the continuity of activities and results can be more visible. Furthermore, increasing the number of partners is a consideration for further activities, such as the involvement of Diskominfo, JAPELIDI (digital literacy activist network) or the like in order to gain more insight. The distribution of the poster area must also be expanded so that the reach is evenly distributed both in every school room or information on the social media of related institutions.

Abstract

Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk Penyampaian edukasi,  pencegahan bahaya pornografi dan Pelecehan seksual di Internet dengan literasi digital di Madasah Aliyyah Al-istiqamah. Peserta PKM ini adalah siswa dan siswi MA al-istiqamah Bandung berjumlah 450 siswa/siswi. Kegiatan ini dilakukan secara Daring dengan menggunakan metode Ceramah, tutorial diskusi atau tanya jawab dan Role Play. Kegiatan ini sejalan dengan program dan visi misi sekolah. Di mana bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi mengenai pencegahan  terjadinya kekerasan seksual di internet. Pelaksanaan seminar literasi digital ini terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan siswa/siswi dengan rata-rata skornya sebesar 43.82. saran untuk kegiatan ini adalah keterlibatan mitra lain sebagai pendukung masih perlu ditingkatkan untuk lebih mendalam dalam penyampaian materi dan lebih banyak khazanah keilmuan dari pakarnya seperti keterlibatan   Diskominfo atau JAPELIDI  (jaringan  Pegiat  literasi  digital). Selain itu, Waktu pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian perlu ditambah agar tujuan kegiatan dapat tercapai sepenuhnya. Prevention of Pornography and Sexual Harassment in the Internet for Students of Madrasah Aliyyah Al-Istiqamah  this acitvity (PKM) aims at providing education, prevention of pornography hazards and sexual harassment on the Internet with digital literacy in Madasah Aliyyah Al-istiqamah. The participants of this PKM are students of MA al-istiqamah Bandung with 450 students . This activity is done online using the Lecture method, discussion tutorial or question answer and Role Play. These activities are in line with the school’s program and mission vision. Where the aim is to provide education on the prevention of the occurrence of sexual violence on the Internet., Implementation of this digital literacy seminar there is an increase in the knowledge of students with an average score of 43.82. This activity must be inreased in the involvement of other partners as supporters still need to be enhanced to more deeply in the delivery of materials and more treasures of science from its experts such as the participation of Diskominfo or JAPELIDI  (jaringan  Pegiat  literasi  digital). In addition, the duration of the service activity must be increased so that the purpose of the activity can be fully achieved.

Abstract

Stunting merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan yang serius di Indonesia, terutama di daerah pedesaan. Kondisi ini dapat mempengaruhi perkembangan fisik dan kognitif anak-anak, yang berdampak pada kualitas sumber daya manusia di masa depan. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi efektivitas program edukasi pranikah yang diselenggarakan di SMPN 2 Pacet dalam membangun kesadaran dan pengetahuan siswa tentang pentingnya pencegahan stunting. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini menggunakan pendekatan participatory rural appraisal (PRA). Hasil pengabdian masyarakat menunjukkan bahwa edukasi pranikah yang diberikan berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman siswa mengenai stunting. Penyuluhan ini tidak hanya meningkatkan pengetahuan, tetapi juga mempengaruhi sikap remaja terhadap pernikahan dini. Meskipun seminar penyuluhan ini belum sepenuhnya efektif dalam mengubah perilaku, setidaknya terjadi peningkatan dalam pengetahuan peserta. Temuan ini menekankan pentingnya peran pendidikan kesehatan reproduksi sejak usia remaja untuk menciptakan generasi bebas stunting di masa depan. Program ini juga direkomendasikan untuk diimplementasikan secara luas di sekolah-sekolah lain sebagai upaya pencegahan dini. Selain itu, perlu dilakukan kerjasama multi sektoral antara pemerintah desa, petugas kesehatan, dan masyarakat dalam mencegah meningkatnya prevalensi stunting.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konstruksi makna simbol visual dalam film Kabut karya Edwin dengan menggunakan pendekatan semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce. Film ini dipilih karena menampilkan gaya visual eksperimental yang minim dialog, namun sarat akan simbolisme yang menyentuh isu-isu sosial- politik, seperti sensor informasi, identitas yang terhapus, serta trauma kolektif akibat kekuasaan represif. Pendekatan semiotika Peirce digunakan untuk mengurai tanda menjadi tiga elemen utama: representamen (bentuk fisik tanda), object (hal yang dirujuk), dan interpretant (makna yang terbentuk).Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa simbol koran dalam plastik merepresentasikan kebenaran yang disensor, tubuh para korban menggambarkan hilangnya identitas dan kekuasaan atas tubuh, kabut dan duri melambangkan ketidakjelasan serta rintangan dalam pencarian kebenaran, sedangkan batang pohon menjulang menjadi metafora dari tubuh-tubuh manusia yang kehilangan ruh dan hak-haknya. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa Kabut Berduri tidak hanya menawarkan estetika visual yang kontemplatif, tetapi juga menjadi media kritik budaya terhadap pengaburan sejarah dan pembungkaman suara korban.Penelitian ini menerapkan teori semiotika Peirce secara mendalam, serta memperluas pemahaman tentang bagaimana simbol visual dapat menjadi alat refleksi sosial dan pencarian identitas dalam sinema kontemporer.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has significantly impacted various aspects of society, including health, economy, and education. This paper focuses on the challenges faced in the field of education, particularly in the implementation of online learning. Insufficient network coverage and limited internet access in certain areas have hindered the effectiveness of online learning. Additionally, students have faced additional stressors such as the depletion of internet packages, overwhelming homework assignments, and piled-up school tasks, leading to academic stress. In response to these challenges, there is a need to provide education related to the prevention and treatment of Covid-19 to students. To address these issues and prepare for future face-to-face learning, a community service program was implemented through four stages. The preparatory stage involved the formation of community service groups, surveying and analyzing potential locations for community service, coordination with schools and other supporting parties, and program socialization. The implementation stage focused on providing educational and outreach programs to high school students in West Java and Lampung, including the deployment of community service teams, provision of necessary facilities and infrastructure, and the execution of community service activities.

Abstract

The rapid growth of digital content, driven by the increasing penetration of the Internet of Things (IoT), has accelerated access to information through the internet. This phenomenon, coupled with the crucial role of social media, has transformed the function of social media from mere social networking platforms into essential tools in various fields, including Islamic preaching (Dakwah). This community service is carried out and organized by Faculty of Social science Bhakti Kencana University in PC. Pemudi Persatuan Islam (Persis) Rancaekek and PC. Persistri Rancaekek in Bandung Regency, as women's preaching organizations actively using social media as a means of disseminating Islamic messages. The training implementation method involves active community participation in problem-solving with a practical learning approach. Through a regional situation analysis, this training is conducted in stages: preparation, face-to-face implementation, and evaluation of community engagement. The implementation, Community service uses Canva application as a practical platform for creating preaching content. Results and discussions cover the application of preaching content creation practices using Canva. The evaluation of community engagement involves pre-tests and post-tests as measures of training success. The results show that it is quite effective in improving participants’ understanding and skills in using Canva for preaching

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how visitors’ experiences shape the positioning of Al-Jabbar Grand Mosque as a modern religious destination that supports mental health. The research focuses on emotional experiences, perceptions of the physical environment, social interactions, and the meanings constructed by visitors during their time in the mosque area. A qualitative approach with a phenomenological design was used, as this study seeks to understand the subjective meanings of visitors’ experiences in depth. The informants consisted of 22 participants 9 male and 13 female visitors selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using processes of data reduction, thematic categorization, and meaning interpretation. The results show that visitors experience a strong sense of tranquility, comfort, and psychological restoration, including a “being away” sensation from the pressures of daily routines. The mosque’s architecture, lakeside landscape, and open-space ambience contribute significantly to calming spiritual and psychological experiences. Social interactions between visitors and mosque staff further reinforce positive perceptions of the mosque environment. These findings indicate that the positioning of Al-Jabbar Mosque naturally emerges through visitors’ authentic experiences rather than through formal promotional strategies. This study is expected to serve as a reference for mosque administrators in developing modern religious spaces that support the emotional well-being of the community.
