Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of using an interactive e-module to reduce students’ misconceptions on salt hydrolysis material at grade XI in senior high school. This study implemented a pre-experiment with one group pretest-posttest research design, which utilized one class as the experimental class. Samples were selected by using purposive sampling technique, and it was obtained one class as the experimental class, namely class XI in State Madrasah Aliyah 1 Pekanbaru, Riau, Indonesia. Before giving the treatment, the sample was administered a pretest and after the treatment, they were given a posttest. The pretest and posttest questions occupied three-tier multiple choice questions. The reduction of misconceptions on Salt Hydrolysis material after using the interactive e-module was 16.21%. The study found that interactive e-modules effective to reduce misconceptions on salt hydrolysis material was significant.

Abstract

Abstrak Telah dipelajari efisiensi dan mekanisme inhibisi korosi karboksimetil kitosan (KMK) pada permukaan baja lunak dalam larutanH2SO4.Efisiensi inhibisi korosi ditentukan dengan menggunakan metode pengukuran berat hilang (Weight Loss Method), sedangkan mekanisme inhibisi korosi dipelajari berdasarkan hasil analisis karakterisasi Scanning Electron Microscope- Energy Dispersive X-ray(SEM-EDX). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efisiensi inhibisi korosi KMK dalam H2SO4 mencapai 65.12%. Hasil analisis karakterisasi memperlihatkan mekanisme inhibisi KMK pada permukaan baja lunak melalui peristiwa adsorpsi kimia membentuk lapisan pasif berupa senyawa Fe-khelatmelalui unsur O dari gugus –OH dan N dari gugus –NH2 dari molekul KMK Kata kunci : Efisiensi inhibisi korosi, karboksimetil kitosan, mekanisme inhibisi   Abstract The corrosion inhibition efficiencyandmechanism ofcarboxymethylchitosan(CMC) on the surface ofmild steel in H2SO4 solution has studied. Determination of the corrosion inhibition efficiency measurement used Weight Loss Method (WLM), whereas the mechanism of corrosion inhibition studied based on the analysis characterizing Scanning Electron Microscope-Energy Dispersive X-ray (SEM-EDX). The results showed that the corrosion inhibition efficiency of CMC reaches 65.12%. Characterization analysis results showed inhibition mechanism CMC on mild steel surface through chemical adsorption events form a passive layer of Fe-chelate compounds through O elementof -OH group and N element of -NH2 group of molecules KMK. Abstract

This research was conducted from February - April 2019 using the survey method. Samples of undergrowth, litter and palm oil were taken from palm oil plantations on peatlands in Berumbung Baru Village, Dayun District, Siak Regency of Riau Province. Sample analysis was carried out at the Marine Chemistry Laboratory of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Riau University and calculated using the ICRAFF formula and using the allometry equation. The results showed the highest average total carbon content in the undergrowth was found in plot III (0.47 tons / ha). The highest average total carbon content in litter is found in plot II (0.47 tons / ha). The highest average total carbon content in palm oil is found in plot III (68 tons / ha). The total carbon content in plot I was 24.91 tons / ha, the total carbon content in plot II was 44.22 tons / ha and the total carbon content in plot III (68.86 tons / ha). The value of carbon benefits at the study site is Rp. 18,904,630. Overall, the total carbon content in palm oil plantations on peatlands in Berumbung Baru Village, Dayun District, Siak Regency of Riau Province is influenced by the age of palm oil plants. The higher the age of palm oil plants, the higher the carbon content.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mempelajari efektifitas kitosan sebagai pelapis (coating) korosi pada logam Zn, Fe dan Al dalam media HCl dan H2SO4. Efisiensi inhibisi korosi ditentukan dengan menggunakan metode pengukuran berat hilang (Weight Loss Method). Efektifitas inhibisi korosi larutan kitosan optimum terjadi pada logam Fe dalam media HCl 2M dengan waktu perendaman 3 hari yaitu sebesar 70, 83%. Sedangkan efektifitas inhibisi korosi optimum dalam media H2SO4 terjadi pada logam Al yaitu mencapai 57,57% dengan waktu perendaman 2 hari dan konsentrasi H2SO4 2M. Hasil foto optik memperlihatkan terjadi perubahan warna permukaan logam Zn dan Fe jika dilapisi dengan larutan kitosan, kecuali pada logam Al tidak terjadi perubahan warna. Efisiensi inhibisi korosi pada logam dipengaruhi oleh mobilitas ion dari lingkungan logam.

Abstract

Bahan ajar kimia berbasis exe-learning pada materi ikatan kimia dirancang sesuai dengan standar kompetensi pada Kurikulum 2013. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implement and Evaluate). Penelitian dilakukan hanya sampai pada tahap Development (Pengembangan), karena tujuan penelitian ini hanya sebatas mengembangkan dan menghasilkan bahan ajar kimia berbasis exe-learning pada materi ikatan kimia yang valid untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran berdasarkan penilaian validator.  Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi ahli materi dan lembar validasi ahli media yang meliputi aspek perancangan, aspek pedagogik, aspek isi dan aspek kemudahan penggunaan  yang diberikan kepada 4  orang validator yakni, 1 orang ahli media dan 3 orang ahli materi serta angket tanggapan peserta didik dengan jumlah responden 30 orang. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah analisis statistik deskriptif, yaitu dengan cara menghitung persentase nilai validasi. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil validasi yang dilakukan diakhir kegiatan validasi memperoleh persentase rata-rata penilaian sebesar 89,14%  dengan kategori valid dan persentase tanggapan peserta didik sebesar 94,81% dengan kategori baik. Berdasarkan kriteria kelayakan analisis persentase dapat disimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar kimia berbasis exe-learning pada materi ikatan kimia yang dikembangkan sudah valid sehingga dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran kimia kelas X Sekolah Menegah Atas (SMA)/derajat.

Abstract

Information gained from lecturers of organic chemistry study program in chemical education Riau University, student activities and learning outcomes are still relatively low. The researchers believe that contructivism -based students’ worksheet as a new learning method is needed to overcome the problem. The study was conducted using the application of contructivism-based students worksheet in organic chemistry  II  subject to increase students activities and their learning outcomes.The data were collected by observation and test. Statistics descriptive qualitative and quantitative were used to analyze the data. The data of learning outcomes were analyzed by Shapiro- Wilks normality, Wilcoxon hypothesis test and paired samples test. The result showed that average values of student activity for each subject namely aldehyde-ketones, carboxylic acids, amines and free radicals were at 37%, 37%, 30%, 36%. The result from wilcoxon and paired samples test, with significant test 0,000 < 0,05 showed that student learning outcomes on organic chemistry II subject by constructivism-based students’ worksheet was improved, It can be seen from average value of the pre-test and post-test were at 19.77; 72.15, respectively.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effectiveness of the KAPRA learning model (associate, experience, think, negotiate, and apply) students' critical thinking skills on buffer solutions. The subjects of this research are students of class XI MIPA 3 as the experimental and class XI MIPA 4 as the control class at SMAN 10 Pekanbaru. The method uses experimental research with a randomized control group pretest-posttest research design. The data obtained were analyzed using normality test, homogeneity test, hypothesis testing and N-Gain test. The results showed that the KAPRA learning model effectively increased students' critical thinking skills. Based on the hypothesis test, tcount > ttable (5.89 > 1.66) with the N-Gain value in the moderate category of 0.52.

Abstract

Penelitian tentang penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah (PBL) dan inkuiri telah dilakukan untuk melihat model pembelajaran yang lebih efektif terhadap karakter komunikatif peserta didik pada pokok bahasan termokimia di kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Bandar Seikijang, Pelalawan. Bentuk penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian kuasi-eksperimen dengan desain non equivalen control posttest design. Waktu pengambilan data mulai dari bulan september-oktober 2018 sebanyak 4 kali pertemuan. Sampel merupakan dua kelas yang dipilih dari empat kelas yang ada, yaitu kelas XI MIPA 1 berjumlah 25 peserta didik dan XI MIPA 2 berjumlah 21 peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu tes dan kuisioner (angket), tes dilakukan dengan soal sebanyak 30 butir dan angket sebanyak 18 butir pernyataan.  Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu dengan menghitung skor rata-rata untuk soal tes dan menghitung persentase karakter komunikatif untuk soal non tes. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, pengolahan data akhir diperoleh persentase hasil belajar pada kelas PBL sebesar 78,85% dan pada kelas inkuiri sebesar 81,98 %. Selain itu, persentase karakter komunikatif peserta didik yang diajar dengan model PBL sebesar 78,15% dan kelas inkuiri sebesar 83,75%, artinya penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri lebih efektif digunakan dalam membangun karakter komunikatif peserta didik pada materi termokimia di kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Bandar Seikijang, Pelalawan.

Abstract

This research is an innovation in the development of teaching materials that adapt 21st century learning, which focuses on the implementation of the development of science and technology. Therefore can be use to integrate of science technology based learning to improve the quality of individual competencies in accordance with the 2013 curriculum. The purpose is to produce integrated STEM E-modul on Acid Base Material. The research instruments were validation sheets and user response questionnaires. Validation has been assessed by the validator team with aspects of content, language, presentation, STEM and graphics. The trial was conducted at four high schools in Pekanbaru. The results percentage of the validation data considered as very valid. While the percentage of graphic aspects and software utilization considered as very valid. Then the percentage of the teacher response questionnaire considered as very good. The research results from the development of an integrated acid-base STEM e-module with 3D Pageflip Professional show that the e-module developed is feasible and valid to increase the involvement of students active roles, especially to train students scientific attitudes, interests and motivation.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada materi termokimia dalam penerapan strategi pembelajaran Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) di kelas XI MIA SMA Negeri 8 Pekanbaru. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian One Group Pretest Posttest Design yang dilakukan di SMA Negeri 8 Pekanbaru Tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Objek penelitian ini adalah kelas XI MIA 1 yang terdiri dari 32 peserta didik. Pengumpulan data peserta didik menggunakan teknik tes berupa pretest dan posttest. Keberhasilan pembelajaran dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik ditunjukkan dengan peningkatan kriteria berpikir kritis dari hasil pretest dan posttest yang dianalisis dengan cara menghitung skor persentase berpikir kritis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Peserta didik mengalami peningkatan dari kategori berpikir kritis sangat rendah menjadi kategori sangat tinggi sebesar 15,625 %, peningkatan dari kategori rendah menjadi kategori sangat tinggi sebesar 40,625 %, peningkatan dari kategori rata-rata menjadi kategori sangat tinggi sebesar 9,375 %, peningkatan dari kategori berpikir kritis sangat rendah menjadi kategori tinggi sebesar 12,5 %, dan peningkatan dari kategori berpikir kritis rendah menjadi kategori tinggi sebesar 21,875 %. Berdasarkan analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan strategi pembelajaran Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada materi termokimia di SMA Negeri 8 Pekanbaru.
