Abstract

This research aimed to observe the growth and production response of the Inpari 32 hybrid rice variety to the application of aloe vera liquid organic fertilizer and inorganic P fertilizer compared to the absence of the combination of these two fertilizers. The research method used was comparative, comparing rice field plots treated with a combination of inorganic P fertilizer (Phonsgreen) at a dose of 150 kg/ha and aloe vera liquid organic fertilizer (P1) at a dose of 6 liters/ha with rice field plots without the combination of the two fertilizers (P0). Parameters observed included plant height, number of tillers, number of productive tillers, panicle length, number of grains per panicle, grain weight per clump, and weight of 1000 grains. The results showed that aloe vera liquid organic fertilizer and inorganic P fertilizer could increase milled dry grain production by up to 29.9%.

Abstract

Program pengabdian masyarakat yang dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Merjosari RW 06 bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan air cucian beras sebagai Pupuk Organik Cair (POC). Masalah yang dihadapi dalam industri rumah tangga lontong dari air cucian beras adalah minimnya pemanfaatan limbah  ini, yang sering dianggap tidak berguna dan dibuang, sehingga berkontribusi pada peningkatan volume limbah yang tidak dikelola dengan baik dan mengancam lingkungan. Kegiatan ini mencakup sosialisasi dan pelatihan bagi ibu rumah tangga tentang cara membuat POC dari limbah tersebut. Metode yang diterapkan meliputi presentasi dan praktik langsung, yang berhasil menarik minat peserta untuk mengurangi penggunaan pupuk kimia. Hasilnya menunjukkan tingkat antusiasme masyarakat yang tinggi serta pemahaman mereka terhadap manfaat POC dalam pertanian organik. Tingkat pencapaian target kegiatan ini cukup baik, terlihat dari banyaknya peserta yang aktif berpartisipasi dan kesesuaian antara metode yang digunakan dengan tantangan yang ada. Dampak positif dari kegiatan ini tidak hanya meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang pengelolaan limbah tetapi juga meningkatkan kesadaran akan pentingnya untuk selalu menggunakan pupuk organik yang lebih ramah lingkungan. Rekomendasi untuk kegiatan selanjutnya adalah melanjutkan program ini dengan pendekatan terintegrasi serta kolaborasi antara pemerintah, masyarakat, dan perguruan tinggi untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pelaksanaan serta keberlanjutan pengelolaan limbah organik di masyarakat.

Abstract

Kabupaten Bojonegoro, Jawa Timur, memiliki potensi besar di sektor pertanian yang didukung oleh hasil produksi tanaman pangan seperti padi, jagung, dan kedelai. Namun, alih fungsi lahan akibat aktivitas industri, seperti Blok Cepu yang dikelola Exxon Mobil, telah memberikan dampak negatif pada kondisi sosial ekonomi petani. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat produksi dan produktivitas sektor pertanian di Bojonegoro serta mengevaluasi komoditas pertanian strategis menggunakan data sekunder dari BPS Bojonegoro tahun 2022. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sembilan indikator komoditas unggulan, yang dikelompokkan menjadi tiga komponen utama: (1) produktivitas jagung dan realisasi pupuk (NPK, Petroganik, Urea); (2) ternak ayam, sapi potong, dan kambing potong; (3) produktivitas padi, tebu, dan realisasi pupuk Petroganik. Temuan ini menyoroti pentingnya pengelolaan pupuk yang optimal dan dukungan terhadap komoditas strategis untuk mendorong keberlanjutan sektor pertanian di Bojonegoro. Strategi pengembangan yang holistik diperlukan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dan mengurangi dampak alih fungsi lahan.

Abstract

Management of water resources in watersheds requires an in-depth understanding of the factors that influence the runoff coefficient. This study aimed to analyze the influence of land cover, slope, and soil physical properties on the runoff coefficient in the Upper Brantas Sub-watershed and develop a prediction model using multiple linear regression. The research was conducted in Pesanggrahan Village, Batu City, using nine observation plots consisting of three types of land cover (dense canopy, moderate canopy, and sparse canopy) with three slope classes (15%, 25%, and 35%). Surface runoff measurements were conducted using 150 m² plots during the rainy season. Pearson correlation analysis showed that the runoff coefficient was significantly negatively correlated with land cover percentage (r = -0.551; p<0.001) and Dry Microaggregate Ratio (DMR) index (r = -0.439; p<0.001), and significantly positively correlated with slope (r = 0.265; p<0.001) and sand content (r = 0.410; p<0.001). The selected regression model (C = -0.031 - 0.074X1 + 0.015X2 - 0.001X4 + 0.110X6) showed land cover/X1 had the strongest influence (? = -0.074, p<0.0001), followed by slope class/X2 (? = 0.015, p<0.0001), bulk density/X4 (? = 0.110, p<0.001), and silt content/X6 (? = -0.001, p<0.036). The model performed well with a validation R² of 46.3% and a Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of 0.0331. This research presents a practical model for estimating runoff coefficients, supporting soil and water conservation planning in mountainous areas.

Abstract

Kota Batu memiliki lebih dari 300 sumber mata air, namun debitnya menurun bahkan beberapa sumber mata air hilang setiap tahun akibat perubahan penggunaan lahan. Perubahan penggunaan lahan dari hutan ke pertanian menjadi salah satu penyebab utama menurunnya debit sumber mata air. Penurunan debit dan hilangnya sumber mata air menunjukkan pentingnya konservasi tanah dan air untuk menjaga keberlanjutan sumber mata air. Tingkat Pendidikan, pengetahuan dan sikap petani berperan penting dalam mendukung upaya konservasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan guna menganalisis hubungan antara tingkat pendidikan, pengetahuan dan sikap petani terhadap konservasi sumber mata air di Kota Batu. Penelitian ini memanfaatkan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan data yang diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi, dan angket. Dilaksanakan pada Juli 2024 di Kota Batu, objek penelitian ini adalah petani di sekitar sumber mata air utama (Kasinan, Gemulo, Banyuning dan Terembulok). Jumlah data responden menggunakan rumus Slovin dengan toleransi kesalahan 10% yaitu sebanyak 120 responden. Analisis dilakukan dengan statistik deskriptif dan korelasi Rank Spearman menggunakan SPSS. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar petani berpendidikan rendah (SD), memiliki pengetahuan yang baik mengenai dampak perubahan penggunaan lahan terhadap hilang atau menurunnya sumber mata air dan kurangnya pengetahuan mengenai konservasi sumber mata air. Tingkat pendidikan memiliki hubungan yang kuat dalam menentukan sikap petani. Sebaliknya, pengetahuan tidak berhubungan dengan sikap petani.

Abstract

The development of the agro-industry in Batu City has spurred the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), including those involved in tempeh processing. However, many MSMEs have not conducted comprehensive financial feasibility assessments to ensure business sustainability. This study aimed to analyze the financial feasibility of the tempeh processing business at UMKM Rizky Jaya and test its resilience to cost fluctuations through sensitivity analysis. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document studies. A Feasibility analysis utilized indicators such as Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Payback Period (PP), Break-Even Point (BEP), and Revenue Cost Ratio (R/C). The business generates an annual net profit of IDR 262,645,791 with an NPV of IDR 607,995,760 (at a 10% discount rate), IRR of 90%, PP of 389 days, BEP of 10,395 units, and R/C Ratio of 1.35. The tempeh processing business at UMKM Rizky Jaya is financially viable and shows strong resilience to market fluctuation risks. This study recommends the need for product diversification and technology utilization to enhance long-term competitiveness.

Cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens) is an important horticultural crop in Indonesia; however, its yield remains below optimal despite rising demand. This study intends to (i) assess changes in soil bulk density, particle density, and porosity; (ii) evaluate the effects of irrigation techniques and the application of biochar on chili yields; and (iii) identify the best combination for optimizing resource usage and yield. Eight different treatment combinations, each repeated four times, were used in a nested randomized design study conducted in Tunggulwulung Village, Malang. As the primary factor, the treatments included two main irrigation techniques (conventional and drip), which were further subdivided with different rates of biochar application (0%, 2%, 4%, and 6%). There were 160 pots total, with five plants per treatment acting as experimental units. Rice husks that had been pyrolyzed for three to four hours at 600°C were the source of the biochar. According to the results, adding biochar to conventional irrigation increases fruit weight by 125% and yield by about 130%. Drip irrigation with 4% biochar, on the other hand, is the most successful technique and yields much larger improvements, increasing fruit weight by 764% and fruit yield by 324%. Drip irrigation is more effective and yields better results than conventional irrigation, especially when combined with rice husk biochar. Furthermore, soil porosity and water use efficiency are significantly increased when 4% and 6% doses of biochar are added to drip irrigation systems.

Abstract

Desa Pagersari, Kecamatan Ngantang, Kabupaten Malang memiliki komoditas unggulan kentang yang pada musim panen melimpah dan umumnya dijual mentah sehingga nilai tambah rendah. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan ibu-ibu PKK dalam diversifikasi olahan kentang menjadi brownies kukus kentang. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan partisipatif berbasis praktik langsung (learning by doing) melalui perencanaan aksi bersama, penyampaian materi, praktik pembuatan brownies kukus kentang, serta evaluasi menggunakan pretest dan posttest. Kegiatan diikuti 20 peserta. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan peserta, dengan rata-rata nilai pretest 55 meningkat menjadi 97,75 pada posttest (selisih 42,75). Uji paired samples t-test menunjukkan p = 0,000 (p < 0,05), sehingga pelatihan efektif meningkatkan pemahaman peserta. Program ini menghasilkan produk brownies kukus kentang sebagai bentuk pemanfaatan komoditas lokal bernilai tambah.

Abstract

The potential of former C-excavation mining land differs significantly from agricultural soil in terms of productivity and nutrient availability. Ecosystem restoration and soil productivity enhancement in marginal lands are necessary to improve crop productivity. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of biochar-coated humate (Bicomat) and Tithonia compost fertilizer on the growth and yield of bok choi (Brassica rapa L.) in two different soil types. The research was conducted from October to December 2024 The study employed a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with a non-factorial approach, consisting of three replications and eight treatments Observation of growth parameters included plant height (4 Weeks after transplanting/WAP), root length (4 WAP), number of leaves (1-4 WAP), at the time of harvest wet weight and dry weight were observed. The data that has been obtained from the observation results then will be tested using the analysis of variance (ANOVA) further test of Tuckey HSD with 5% significance. Result showed the addition of Bicomat and Tithonia Compost showed differences in plant height 4 MST, number of leaves 4 MST, fresh -dry weight of bok choi plants. The S2T2B2 (Soil 2 + 300 g Tithonia Compost + Bicomat 20 t/ha) treatments more optimal in increasing plant height 4 MST, number of leaves 4 MST, dry weight of mustard plants on post C-excavation mining land. The S1T1B2 (Soil 1 + 200 g Tithonia Compost + Bicomat 20 t/ha) treatment was optimal in increasing plant height 4 MST, number of leaves 4 MST, dry weight of mustard plants on agricultural land.
