Abstract

Background: Sexual transmission of HIV among men who have sex with men (MSM) continues to increase. There are several factors that affect the occurrence of HIV infection in Male Sex Addiction. In this study, we will discuss three factors, namely condom use, anal bleeding and sex group ownership. This study aims to analyze and estimate the strength of the relationship between the incidence of HIV infection and condom use, anal bleeding, and sex group ownership.Subjects and Method: A systematic review and meta-analysis study was conducted using the PICO model. Population: male sex male. Intervention: not using condoms, anal bleeding after sex, and having sex groups. Comparison: using a condom, no anal bleeding after sex, and no sex group. Outcome: HIV infection. The basic data used includes Google Scholar, Proquest, Scopus, PubMed, Zendy, ScienceDirect, BMC, Elsivier, and Springer Link. The inclusion criteria are full-text articles with a cross-sectional study design using multivariate and attaching aOR values and published 1996-2023. The Data analysis using the Review Manager 5.3 application. Results: This meta-analysis was carried out on seven cross-sectional studies originating from China, Tanzania, and Brazil. Total sample size=13,188 people. The risk of HIV infection in men who have sex with men increased with the use of no condoms (aOR= 1.35; CI 95%= 1.10 to 1.65; p= 0.004), there was anal bleeding after sex (aOR= 1.89; CI 95%= 1.53 to 2.34; p<0.001), and group sex (aOR= 2.30; CI 95%= 1.62 to 3.25); p<0.001).Conclusion: The risk of HIV infection in men who have sex with men increases by not using condoms, having anal bleeding after sex, and having group sex.

Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a priority disease that not only requires control efforts but is also important for prevention efforts. Complications that occur in type II DM patients can be prevented with tertiary preventive behavior. This tertiary preventive behavior can be done by applying the Information Motivation Behavior (IMB) skill model. The purpose of this study is to explore the influence of the application based on the IMB model on tertiary prevention behavior in type II DM patients. Subjects and Method: This study is cross sectional from April-May 2024. The sample used was 200 type 2 DM patients aged >18 years and selected by random sampling technique at the Blora Health Center, Central Java. The dependent variable was the tertiary preventive behavior of type 2 DM patients. The independent variables were information, motivation and behavioral skills. Data collection using questionnaires and data analysis using path analysis with Stata 13. Results: Tertiary preventive behavior of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus was directly influenced by behavioral skills (b= 5.80; CI 95%= 4.73 to 6.87; p <0.001), information (b= 1.25; CI 95%= 0.01 to 2.50; p= 0.047) and gender (b= -1.60; CI 95%= -0.60 to -2.59; p= 0.002). Tertiary preventive behavior of type 2 DM patients through behavioral skills is indirectly influenced by information, motivation, age and education. Information is indirectly influenced by motivation and education. There was no significant effect on gender on behavioral skills. Conclusion: Tertiary preventive behavior is directly influenced by behavioral skills, information and gender. Tertiary preventive behavior is indirectly influenced by information, motivation, age, and education through behavioral skills. Tertiary preventive behavior is indirectly influenced by gender and education through information.

Abstract

Abstract

High total cholesterol levels cause various diseases, especially those related to the heart  and blood vessels. Total cholesterol test uses serum as a sample and must be analyzed within one hour after sampling. However, in the field sometimes there are inspection delays. Some studies have proven that serum stored for one week at a temperature of 4-8°C has different results in total cholesterol examination. For this reason, this study aims to determine the validity of total cholesterol examination using the CHOD-PAP method of serum samples stored for one week at a temperature of 4o-8oC. Validation test based on eight parameters, there are precision, accuracy, linearity, reportable range, limit detection, quantitation limit,  recovery, and interference. Only the recovery test was not accepted from eight parameters. Based on the Kruskal Wallis test, the sig value is 0.172 <0.05, it can be stated that there is no difference in serum storage time for one week at a temperature of 4-8℃ on total cholesterol levels using CHOD-PAP method.
