Abstract

This study discusses the urgency of teacher pedagogical competence in preventing moral degradation of students at SDN Wanasari 13. With the increasing challenges of negative behavior among students, such as bullying, decreased discipline, and lack of tolerance, the role of teachers as educators becomes very crucial. Pedagogical competence not only includes academic teaching, but also character development and moral values. Through an effective pedagogical approach, teachers can create a learning environment that supports positive values, such as empathy, cooperation, and discipline. This study used a qualitative method with interviews and observations as data collection tools, involving teachers and students. The results show that the implementation of good pedagogical competence can significantly reduce negative behavior and improve student morale. In addition, training and professional development for teachers need to be strengthened to ensure they have the necessary skills. Therefore, strengthening teacher pedagogical competence is very important to form a generation with noble character, improve the quality of education, and prepare students to face social challenges in the future.

Abstract

Burnout characterized by emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and decreased work performance, can negatively impact the quality of learning and student well-being. Because there are teachers who still do not understand how social competence specifically helps reduce the risk of burnout in elementary school teachers. However, other teachers seem to be better able to cope with work pressure and remain enthusiastic about their duties. This difference is thought to be closely related to the level of social competence possessed by each teacher. This study aims to (1) analyze the role of social competence in reducing the risk of teacher burnout, (2) identify the forms of burnout experienced by elementary school teachers. The method used is qualitative research with a case study approach. Research shows that improving teachers’ social competence, particularly in communication, empathy, and collaboration, is crucial for preventing and reducing burnout. Despite significant work pressure, teachers who can built positive relationship with students, colleagues, and parent, have greater emotional resilience and are more enthusiastic about their work.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical problem-solving abilities of lower-grade elementary school students, specifically in the number material taught inClass III at MI Alhuda Rawasapi. The background of this research is theimportance of problem-solving skills in mathematics education as a foundation forlogical, critical, and systematic thinking that supports the understanding andapplication of concepts in real-life contexts. This study employs a descriptivequalitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected throughobservation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that students’problem-solving abilities remain low, marked by various obstacles in the fourstages of Polya’s problem-solving steps: understanding the problem, devising aplan, carrying out the plan, and reviewing the solution. Furthermore, five types oferrors were identified based on Newman’s error analysis and Rico’s transformationtheory, including errors in reading the problem, understanding the problem, transforming into mathematical form, carrying out the process, and writing the finalanswer. Contributing factors include low mathematical literacy, underdevelopedabstract thinking skills, and a lack of habits in evaluating their own work. Thisstudy recommends the use of contextual learning approaches and the cultivationof reflective thinking habits to enhance students’ mathematical problem-solvingskills.
