Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic requires physical activity to reduce its spread. Physical restrictions have a direct impact on the closure of school activities. Distance learning is an alternative for school activities that do not require direct learning communication in one room. However, distance learning can have an impact on students' mental health. This study aims to determine the impact of distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic on students' mental health.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of gadget use on the psychological development of elementary school-aged children at Cibuntu Elementary School, Cibungur Village, Parungponteng District. The research method used is a qualitative approach using observation, questionnaires and interviews as data collection techniques. The research results show that the use of gadgets has both positive and negative impacts on children's psychological development. Positive impacts include improved cognitive skills and access to information, while negative impacts include the risk of addiction and behavioral disorders. The role of parents and schools in supervising and directing gadget use is very important to minimize negative impacts. This research provides a comprehensive picture of the complexity of the interaction between technology and child development.

Abstract

This research illustrates the importance of introducing the concept of income and expenditure at an early age by presenting simple, relevant examples. The introduction of income, such as a weekly allowance from parents, helps children understand the meaning of effort in earning money, develops financial decision-making skills, and builds discipline. Positive impacts include a better understanding of financial concepts and growing financial independence, despite potential wasteful habits and dependence on parents. On the other hand, the introduction of expenses, such as buying snacks or toys, helps children learn to choose between different options, understand the value of money, and be responsible for their spending. It also strengthens financial decision-making skills and awareness of financial priorities, although it can lead to wasteful habits and lack of awareness about saving for the future. In conclusion, early financial literacy education has a key role in shaping children's understanding of finance, financial values, and wise financial management practices, which will help them face future financial challenges and build a more stable financial foundation, while creating a strong foundation for healthy financial understanding within the family.

Abstract

This study explores the application of ethnomathematics in mathematics education within the context of Bintuni Bay Regency. Ethnomathematics is the approach of linking mathematical concepts with local cultural practices, aiming to make learning more relevant and engaging for students. The research focuses on how this approach enhances students' understanding and motivation by integrating elements of local culture, such as traditional textile patterns, food-sharing customs, and handicrafts, into the mathematics curriculum. A qualitative case study method was used, involving classroom observations, interviews with teachers and students, and document analysis across three primary schools in Bintuni Bay. The findings indicate that students responded positively to the ethnomathematical approach, showing increased engagement and improved comprehension of mathematical concepts when taught in a culturally relevant context. Teachers also observed higher levels of participation, although they faced challenges related to limited resources and inadequate training. Despite these obstacles, ethnomathematics proved to be a valuable tool for deepening students' critical thinking and creativity, as well as fostering a connection between academic learning and their cultural heritage. The study concludes that ethnomathematics has significant potential to improve the quality of mathematics education, especially in culturally diverse regions like Indonesia. However, to optimize its implementation, further support is needed, including teacher training and the development of culturally appropriate teaching materials. This research contributes to a growing body of literature advocating for the integration of local culture into the educational process, offering recommendations for policymakers and educators to develop more responsive and inclusive curricula
