Abstract

Kajian terhadap landasan ideologis penciptaan sangat penting dilakukan untuk memberikan panduan langkah penciptaan karya yang kohesif antara gagasan dan garapan. Penelitian ini mendalami ideologi di balik karya seni tari Mina Maha Manu yang mencerminkan kompleksitas pesan lingkungan dan harmoni antara manusia dan alam. Untuk itu, dilakukan analisis terhadap bagaimana ideologi karya seni dirumuskan oleh koreografer dan bagaimana implementasinya ke dalam elemen artistik. Dalam konteks seni tari sebagai medium ekspresi, karya ini menggabungkan tradisi dan inovasi untuk mengangkat isu lingkungan yang mendesak. Pendekatan fenomenologi digunakan untuk menganalisis landasan ideologis yang merumuskan pesan-pesan koreografer dalam elemen-elemen artistik karya. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa world view koreografer terhadap laut, dipandang sebagai sumber inspirasi bagi simbolisme, makna artistik dan spiritual dalam karya seni Mina Maha Manu. Secara epistemologis, koreografer mengakui bahwa pengalaman sebelumnya dalam menciptakan karya tari memainkan peran penting dalam pendekatan mereka untuk menciptakan karya baru. Untuk itu koreografer menggunakan pendekatan kontemporer untuk mengekspresikan gagasan mereka dalam karya Mina Maha Manu. Penelitian ini memiliki dampak dua dimensi: (1) mengungkap peran seni tari dalam menyampaikan pesan ideologis dan (2) menerjemahkan tradisi ke dalam isu kontemporer sekaligus memberikan wawasan baru tentang keterhubungan manusia dan lingkungan. Kendati fokus pada satu karya seni tari, penelitian ini memberikan wawasan mendalam tentang konstruksi ideologi dalam kreativitas karya seni dan relevansinya dalam pemaknaan kekaryaan seni secara kekinian.

Abstract

Integrating character education into the early childhood curriculum is becoming increasingly important in the modern era, mainly to ensure the balanced development of children physically, emotionally, and intellectually. At Dharma Putra Denpasar Kindergarten, dance is used as a medium to teach character values, but the effectiveness of this approach has yet to be widely studied. This research aims to determine the efficacy of integrating character education through dance at Dharma Putra Denpasar Kindergarten in supporting holistic child development. Data was collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews with teachers, and analytical documentation related to learning plans and student projects. The validity and reliability of research results are maintained through data triangulation and member checks. The data obtained were explained inductively using open, axial, and frequency coding techniques. The research results show that using dance as a medium for character education at the Dharma Putra Denpasar Kindergarten effectively balances children's physical, emotional, and intellectual development. These findings are essential in maintaining a balance between technological progress and preserving local wisdom in education, as well as providing a reference for future curriculum development that emphasizes cultural identity and character formation from an early age.

Abstract

Bedawang Nala, dalam kosmologi Hindu Bali, melambangkan kekuatan kosmis yang menopang keseimbangan alam semesta. Dalam konteks masyarakat Bali yang berada di jalur tektonik aktif, mitos Bedawang Nala memainkan peran penting sebagai simbol kesadaran lingkungan dan harmoni kosmik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji simbolisme Bedawang Nala sebagai refleksi kesadaran ekologis masyarakat Bali serta mengeksplorasi relevansinya dalam pelestarian lingkungan. Menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam dengan tokoh agama, seniman, dan pakar budaya, serta observasi lapangan di situs-situs yang menampilkan simbol Bedawang Nala. Studi literatur juga dilakukan untuk mendalami makna filosofis dan kosmologis simbol ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Bedawang Nala dan tiga naga kosmik (Ananta, Basuki, dan Taksaka) yang mewakili elemen tanah, air, dan udara bukan hanya ornamen sakral, tetapi juga instrumen penyadaran ekologi. Dalam konteks krisis ekologi global, Bedawang Nala menawarkan perspektif etika lingkungan yang dapat diimplementasikan dalam pendidikan dan pelestarian budaya. Kesimpulannya, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kearifan lokal seperti mitos Bedawang Nala memiliki potensi besar dalam mendukung upaya pelestarian lingkungan melalui seni, arsitektur, dan praktik budaya berbasis nilai ekologis.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji representasi suara sunari sebagai sumber penciptaan Tari Rejang Swara Sunari, sebuah inovasi dalam seni tari Bali yang mengintegrasikan suara tradisional Bali, yaitu sunari, ke dalam gerakan tari. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami peran dan makna suara sunari dalam membentuk koreografi dan ekspresi spiritual dalam tarian tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif-analitis, melibatkan studi pustaka, observasi partisipatif, dan wawancara untuk mengumpulkan data tentang hubungan antara suara sunari, gerakan tari, dan dimensi spiritual dalam tarian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suara sunari, dengan karakteristik lembut dan mendayu, tidak hanya menjadi pengiring musik, tetapi juga sebagai elemen utama yang menentukan pola gerak dan ekspresi emosional penari. Kolaborasi antara koreografer, penari, dan musisi dalam menciptakan gerakan yang responsif terhadap suara sunari menghasilkan harmoni antara tubuh dan suara, yang memperkaya pengalaman emosional dan spiritual dalam pertunjukan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa Tari Rejang Swara Sunari menciptakan pengalaman seni yang holistik dengan menghubungkan dimensi material dan spiritual, serta memperkuat dialog antara tubuh, suara, dan spiritualitas dalam tradisi Bali.

Abstract

The background of this study lies in the partner's need for additional dance materials to diversify tourist performances and enrich the artistic offerings of their community-run studio. The objective is to analyze the collaborative process between the choreographer (researcher) and the local art studio, Sanggar Sekar Segara Madu, in developing an original dance performance. This research aims to empower the art community in Tanjung Benoa Village through the collaborative creation of the Kamala Madya dance. A qualitative method was employed, using reflective narrative techniques and in-depth interviews with dancers and facilitators to gather data. The results show that the collaboration successfully produced the Kamala Madya dance, which is artistically valuable and culturally grounded in Hindu philosophical principles. The choreographer and composer translated creative concepts into choreography and music, while the partners contributed by designing costumes and mobilizing local dancer talent. This collaborative effort has positively impacted the local community by fostering cultural expression, strengthening local identity, and enhancing the studio’s repertoire. In conclusion, this study demonstrates how participatory choreography can be a powerful tool for community empowerment, with implications for sustaining local cultural industries and encouraging further research into collaborative arts practices and their role in preserving cultural heritage.

Abstract

This research explores the philosophical and symbolic value of Bedawang Nala in Balinese architectural art and the development of its narrative in fiction films based on Hindu mythology. Bedawang Nala, depicted as a giant fire-haired turtle with dragons Anantabhoga and Basuki, reflects cosmic balance and natural harmony in Tri Hita Karana. This qualitative research uses an interdisciplinary perspective involving the views of cultural studies and the creativity of film art creation. Data was obtained through in-depth interviews to explore the meaning and connection of the Bedawang Nala concept with environmental themes, audiovisual observations of traditional Balinese architecture, and literature studies on Bedawang Nala and ecological issues. Data were analyzed using interview transcript interpretation techniques to identify main themes related to the philosophical and symbolic values of Bedawang Nala, audiovisual analysis, and literature synthesis that connects findings from interviews and observations with current discussions about ecological education. The findings show that the Bedawang Nala mythology is not just an aesthetic ornament but has an educational value relevant to contemporary environmental issues. The development of this mythology-based film narrative can be an effective academic and cultural reflection tool, strengthening ecological awareness in society. This research suggests making and evaluating films based on Bedawang Nala and exploring other local mythologies to increase the educational impact and environmental awareness through film media.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the educational values embedded in the performance of the drama gong Sampik Engtay by students of the ISI Denpasar Performing Arts Education Study Program. The research focuses on the moral, social, cultural, and character-building values that emerge through the performance. The study employs a qualitative method with a symbolic interactionism approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, in-depth interviews, and literature reviews. The analysis is conducted using Erving Goffman’s Dramaturgy Theory and George Herbert Mead’s Self-Concept, which explore identity formation, role-playing, and social interaction within the context of performing arts. The findings indicate that Sampik Engtay conveys significant educational values, including moral integrity, perseverance, and cultural appreciation. These values are reflected in the depiction of identity conflicts, personal sacrifices, and the struggle of individuals in adhering to social norms. Additionally, the performance serves as a medium for reinforcing students' understanding of ethical principles, social responsibility, and the importance of preserving cultural heritage. The research highlights the role of traditional drama gong as an effective tool for education, fostering cultural appreciation, and strengthening the character of students. Furthermore, this study provides valuable insights for educators, performing arts practitioners, and policymakers in integrating performing arts into the educational curriculum and preserving Balinese traditional performances for future generations.

Abstract

RINGKASANTari di Bali bukan hanya sekedar pertunjukan pariwisata namun menjadi budaya, karena dilakukan hampir pada setiap rangkaian kehidupan masyarakat Bali. Melalui budaya terbentuk cara hidup yang berkembang dan dimiliki oleh seseorang atau sekelompok orang dan diwariskan dari generasi ke generasi. Berbagai seni timbul karena kemampuan manusia untuk menggali pandangan yang tajam dari pengalaman hidupnya. Proses kreatif tersebut merupakan suatu tangkapan inderawi, perasaan apa yang dirasakan, eksplorasi pengamatan dan perasaan, hubungan imajinatif dari pengalaman yang tersimpan, yang akhirnya kemudian membentuk suatu kebudayaan yang melekat pada keseharian masyarakatnya. Tari Rejang Dewa merupakan tari wali yang hingga sekarang terus diwariskan pada generasi muda. Keberadaaan tari ini tidak pernah lekang oleh waktu, dan terus dipelajari oleh semua kalangan, sehingga tari Rejang Dewa dapat dikatakan sebagai tari monumental.ABSTRACT Dance in Bali is not just a tourism show but becomes a local culture, because it is performed in almost every series of Balinese people's lives. Through culture, a way of life is formed that develops and is owned by a person or group of people and is passed down from generation to generation. Various arts arise because of the ability of humans to explore the sharp insights of their life experiences. The creative process is a sensory capture, a feeling of what is felt, an exploration of observations and feelings, an imaginative relationship of stored experiences, which ultimately thenforms a culture that is attached to the daily life of its people. Rejang Dewa dance is a guardian dance which until now continues to be passed down to the younger generation. The existence of this dance has never been timeless, and continues to be studied by all groups. So that Rejang Dewa dance can be said to be a Monumentalism dance.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan memperbaiki disharmonisasi manajemen pertunjukan yang terjadi dalam Komunitas Polah SMANSE di SMA Negeri 1 Selemadeg, Kabupaten Tabanan yang bergerak khususnya dalam bidang seni tari. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi dan jenis penelitian field research. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini meliputi observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan studi kepustakaan. Analisis data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Adapun analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana sistem manajemen pertunjukan yang baik dilihat dari suatu organisasi seni berskala kecil hingga berpengaruh kepada manajemen seni pertunjukan secara luas. Serta memahami beberapa aspek yang menjadi penyebab kurang efektifnya sistem manajemen pada Komunitas Polah. Temuan dalam penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa kurangnya budaya manajerial pada Komunitas Polah SMANSE yang menyebabkan disharmonisasi dalam perencanaan, pengorganisasian, penggerakan, dan pengawasan pada konteks manajemen pertunjukan. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, peneliti menyarankan dapat menerapkan teori manajemen POAC (planning, organization, actuating, controlling) menurut George R. Terry (1975) guna menekan disharmonisasi manajemen pertunjukan melalui kegiatan workshop manajemen pertunjukan. Upaya ini dilakukan untuk dapat memperbaiki sistem pengorganisasian manajemen pertunjukan pada Komunitas Polah SMANSE, serta menunjukan pentingnya sistem manajemen pertunjukan dalam setiap komunitas baik di ruang lingkup kecil maupun besar agar dapat berkembang dengan optimal. Sehingga manajemen pertunjukan ini dapat menjadi acuan pada pengelolaan sistem manajemen seni pertunjukan dan membangun kerjasama tim agar berjalan lebih harmonis.

Abstract

Dance arts related to the great dance are the most popular. This beautiful dance is performed in all regions now. Even in the educational environment, which is the epicenter or center of trends, there is a proliferation of essential dances. One of the dances that marked the beginning of the creation of great dance was the Shiva Nata Raja dance at Institut Seni Indonesia, Denpasar. The Shiva Nata Raja dance still exists today and is a form of transmission or inheritance that is still running well. The question that generally arises in dance development is how to teach it. Ideally, the transition process does not reduce the foremost essence of the dance. A person's understanding of the intricacies of dance can be obscured by the assumption that dance is simple. Therefore, another way is needed so that the main parts of the dance are not lost. Every part of the movement is crucial to learn. The method used to conduct this research is a qualitative descriptive analysis method, which reveals the aesthetics and inheritance of the Shiva Nata Raja dance style. This inheritance process has been going on for approximately 34 years, so the Shiva Nata Raja dance still survives today and can be classified as a monumental dance.
