Abstract

Abstract

The transformation of digital payment systems in public transportation has encouraged MRT Jakarta to implement Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology through the ALLRIDE Charm product. However, the adoption of this technology may generate user resistance. This study aims to analyze the effects of switching costs, switching benefits, and perceived value on user resistance toward the use of the RFID-based payment system ALLRIDE Charm in MRT Jakarta. This research employs a quantitative approach with a causal associative research design. Data were collected from 306 MRT Jakarta users through an online questionnaire using purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the assistance of SmartPLS software. The results indicate that switching costs and perceived value have a significant effect on user resistance, while switching benefits do not show a significant effect. These findings suggest that users’ perceptions of switching costs and perceived value are the primary factors influencing resistance to the adoption of RFID-based payment systems. In addition, this study develops an RFID reader application prototype as a practical contribution to support the implementation of ALLRIDE Charm. This research provides theoretical contributions to technology adoption studies in the context of public transportation and practical implications for MRT Jakarta in enhancing user acceptance of RFID-based payment systems.

Abstract

The growth of social commerce has encouraged the adoption of the Online-to-Offline (O2O) transaction model, particularly through TikTok, which is widely used by Generation Z in Indonesia. O2O vouchers enable consumers to purchase vouchers online and redeem them directly at offline merchant outlets. Despite their high market potential, the actual purchase intention toward O2O vouchers on TikTok remains relatively limited. This study aims to examine the effects of price sensitivity, ease of use, perceived usefulness, and perceived risk on purchase intention toward O2O vouchers among Generation Z TikTok users in Jakarta. This study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method with 180 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected via an online questionnaire using a seven-point Likert scale and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) with SmartPLS 4. The results indicate that ease of use and perceived usefulness have a positive and significant effect on purchase intention, with perceived usefulness identified as the most dominant variable. In contrast, price sensitivity and perceived risk do not have a significant effect on purchase intention. These findings suggest that Generation Z’s purchase intention toward O2O vouchers is primarily driven by system convenience and perceived functional benefits rather than by price considerations or perceived risk. Therefore, O2O voucher strategies on TikTok should prioritize transaction simplicity and clear value propositions to enhance sustainable purchase intention.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how technological factors through flow experience generated by the algorithm, personal factors in the form of escapism driven by scrolling design, and social factors that shape usage habits through the streak feature contribute to social media addiction among TikTok users. Data were collected through an online survey using Google Forms. Participants in this study were active TikTok users residing in the Jakarta area, aged 18 to 28 years, who use TikTok daily and have consistently utilized the streak feature. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares with SmartPLS 4.0, involving a total of 160 respondents. The results indicate that flow experience has a positive and significant effect on social media addiction, escapism shows a positive but non-significant effect on social media addiction, and habit is proven to have a positive and significant effect on social media addiction. These findings suggest that deep engagement shaped by the For You Page (FYP) algorithm immerses users in continuous use without conscious interruption; the internal drive for emotional escape through TikTok’s infinite scrolling design is not strong enough to form addiction when not reinforced by other mechanisms; and usage patterns formed through streak gamification operate at an automatic and repetitive level, thereby strengthening users’ attachment to the platform.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of variables within the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and the Technology Threat Avoidance Theory (TTAT), integrated through an IS Dual Factor approach, on Generative AI usage intention among users in the Jabodetabek region, addressing a gap in prior research that has tended to examine enabling and inhibiting factors along separate trajectories despite users experiencing these dual pulls simultaneously in practice, and thereby demonstrating the relevance of the IS Dual Factor framework, which treats the two sets of determinants as distinct yet concurrently operating constructs. A quantitative survey method was employed involving 200 respondents domiciled in Jabodetabek who possess knowledge of and/or experience using Generative AI technology, with data collected through an online questionnaire from September 2025 to April 2026 and analyzed using Covariance-Based Structural Equation Modeling (CB-SEM) via IBM AMOS, encompassing Confirmatory Factor Analysis and structural model testing. The results indicate that all six hypotheses were supported, with Performance Expectancy (β = 0.564) and Facilitating Conditions (β = 0.566) emerging as the strongest predictors, followed by Effort Expectancy (β = 0.379) and Social Influence (β = 0.243), which also exerted significant positive effects, while on the inhibiting side Perceived Threats (β = −0.277) significantly reduced usage intention and Perceived Avoidability (β = 0.287) functioned as a buffer attenuating this negative effect, collectively demonstrating that integrating UTAUT and TTAT within an IS Dual Factor framework yields a more comprehensive predictive model than unidimensional approaches for explaining Generative AI usage intention among Indonesia's urban population.
