Abstract

This study examines the influence of Emotional Quotient (EQ) on students' learning motivation among 12th-grade students at SMA N 1 Lubuk Alung. Employing a quantitative correlational research design, the study involved 175 students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using the Emotional Intelligence Scale by Suryati (2024) and the Learning Motivation Scale by Iqbal (2023). The analysis revealed a significant positive relationship between emotional intelligence and learning motivation (p < 0.001, R = 0.610). Findings suggest that higher emotional intelligence is associated with greater learning motivation. The study emphasizes the importance of emotional intelligence in enhancing academic motivation, with practical recommendations for educators and policymakers to integrate emotional intelligence development into educational practices.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak kecanduan gadget terhadap emosi dan kepribadian remaja. Metode yang digunakan adalah systematic literature review dengan menganalisis 22 artikel ilmiah dari jurnal nasional dalam rentang waktu 2014-2024. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kecanduan gadget berdampak signifikan pada ketidakstabilan emosional, seperti kecemasan dan depresi, serta memengaruhi interaksi sosial dan perkembangan kepribadian remaja. Penggunaan gadget secara berlebihan mengurangi kemampuan sosial, seperti empati dan adaptasi, yang berpotensi menyebabkan isolasi sosial. Namun, gadget juga memberikan dampak positif, seperti akses informasi dan peluang ekspresi diri, jika digunakan secara bijak. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya peran orang tua dan institusi pendidikan dalam memberikan pengawasan dan panduan penggunaan gadget untuk mencegah dampak negatif serta mendukung perkembangan remaja secara optimal.

Abstract

Children with intellectual disabilities often experience challenges in social interaction due to limited emotional regulation skills. This study aims to explore the role of emotion regulation in shaping the social interactions of children with intellectual disabilities. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and a case study method, the research focuses on a single student at SLB Amanah Padang. The findings reveal that the subject has difficulty recognizing, managing, and expressing emotions appropriately. Emotional regulation difficulties are closely linked to impulsive behavior, limited peer relationships, and emotional withdrawal. The unsupportive family environment further hinders emotional development, as the subject’s parents also have intellectual disabilities. Nevertheless, teacher support plays a crucial role in developing the child’s emotional and social skills through individualized approaches and positive reinforcement. This study underscores the importance of emotional intervention strategies in special education settings to improve both emotional regulation and social competence in children with intellectual disabilities.
