Abstract

Fermented milk is milk that is fermented by lactic acid bacteria (LAB). LAB can improve the immune system in the human body. The amount of LAB can be increased by the addition of prebiotics. Prebiotics can be found in various natural food sources, including beetroot and yellow sweet potato. This study aimed to determine the effect of adding beetroot and yellow sweet potato prebiotics to the amount of LAB in fermented milk. The research design was experimental using Completely Randomized Design (CRD). There were 6 Formulas which was F1 (0% beetroot: 0% yellow sweet potato); F2(10% beetroot:0% yellow sweet potato); F3(0% beetroot:10% yellow sweet potato); F4(5% beetroot: 5% yellow sweet potato); F5 (6% beetroot:4% yellow sweet potato); F6 (4% beetroot:6% yellow sweet potato). Analysis of the amount of LAB of fermented milk using the TPC method. Proximate analysis using SNI and AOAC methods. The analysis of fermented milk selected from the results of the number of LAB and the hedonic test was F6. The results of the study showed that number of LAB 8 x 108 CFU/mL; pH 3,984; water content 81,46%; 0,61% ash content; protein content 2,36%; fat content 3,48%; carbohydrate content 12,09%; Pb contamination 0,01 mg/kg; Hg contamination <0,005 mg/kg; negative Coliform and Salmonella bacteria contamination; and organoleptically preferred by the panelists. In conclusion, fermented milk F6 with the addition of 4% beetroot and 6% yellow sweet potato can increase the amount of LAB.Keywords: fermented milk; lactic acid bacteria; prebiotics; beetroot; yellow sweet potato ABSTRAKFormulasi Susu Fermentasi dengan Prebiotik dari umbi Bit (Beta vulgaris L.) dan Ubi Jalar Kuning (Ipomoea batatas L.) untuk Peningkatan Viabilitas Bakteri Asam Laktat Susu fermentasi merupakan susu yang difermentasikan oleh bakteri asam laktat (BAL). Dalam jumlah yang cukup BAL dapat meningkatkan sistem kekebalan imun pada tubuh manusia. Jumlah BAL dapat meningkat dengan penambahan prebiotik. Prebiotik dapat ditemukan dalam berbagai sumber pangan di alam, salah satunya yaitu umbi bit   dan ubi jalar kuning. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan prebiotik umbi bit  dan ubi jalar kuning terhadap jumlah BAL pada susu fermentasi. Desain penelitian, yaitu eksperimen dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Terdapat 6 Formula yaitu F1 (0% umbi bit: 0% ubi jalar kuning); F2(10% umbi bit:0% ubi jalar kuning); F3(0% umbi bit:10% ubi jalar kuning); F4(5% umbi bit: 5% ubi jalar kuning); F5 (6% umbi bit:4% ubi jalar kuning); F6 (4% umbi bit:6% ubi jalar kuning). Analisis jumlah BAL susu fermentasi menggunakan metode TPC. Analisis proksimat menggunakan metode SNI dan AOAC. Analisis susu fermentasi terpilih dari hasil jumlah BAL dan hasil uji hedonik adalah F6 (umbi bit 4% dan ubi jalar kuning 6%). Hasil penelitian yaitu jumlah BAL 8 x 108 CFU/mL; nilai pH 3,984; kadar air  81,46%; kadar abu 0,61%; kadar protein 2,36%; kadar lemak 3,48%; kadar karbohidrat 12,09%; kadar cemaran Pb 0,01 mg/kg; kadar cemaran Hg <0,005 mg/kg; negatif cemaran bakteri Coliform dan Salmonella; dan secara organoleptik disukai oleh panelis. Kesimpulan, susu fermentasi dengan penambahan umbi bit 4% dan ubi jalar kuning 6% dapat meningkatkan jumlah BAL.Kata kunci: susu fermentasi, bakteri asam laktat, prebiotik, umbi bit, ubi jalar kuning

Abstract

Karies gigi merupakan salah satu penyakit infeksi yang terjadi pada gigi dan dapat merusak struktur gigi. Bakteri yang sering menjadi penyebab karies pada gigi yaitu Streptococcus mutans. Sediaan obat kumur adalah salah satu bentuk sediaan cair untuk merawat gigi yaitu dengan cara berkumur. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menentukan mutu dari sediaan obat kumur kombinasi ekstrak daun jambu biji dan daun pandan wangi. Ekstrak daun jambu biji dan pandan wangi diektraksi dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96%. Sediaan obat kumur dibuat sebanyak 4 formula, dengan perbandingan ekstrak daun jambu dan pandan wangi konsentrasi formula I 35% (17,5:17,5), konsentrasi formula II 37,5% (17,5:20), konsentrasi formula III 40% (17,5:22,5), kontrol positif (obat kumur merk BT) dan kontrol negatif (basis). Pengujian syarat sediaan obat kumur dilakukan dengan pengujian mutu fisik (uji organoleptik, pH, viskositas). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa formula I memenuhui syarat mutu baik organoleptik, pH dan viskositas.

Abstract

The taro tuber (Colocasia esculenta) is an important source of carbohydrates for an important energy producer whose portion has a fairly bright and profitable development prospect. Taro is not only used as a food source, it can be used for industrial purposes, for example raw materials of cosmetics and plastic. Taro is very easy to recognize and varied with other preparations because it has a distinctive flavor. Increased production is the only major consideration in taro cultivation. Efforts to increase production are influenced by limiting factors that are often experienced in the community. Such barrier is a pathogen attack both on the ground and post harvest. The purpose of this study is to isolate and identify the types of pathogenic fungi found in taro tubers. The method used is microscopic and macroscopic identifications. The results of identification with the macroscopic and microscopic observations obtained by the genus Aspergillus, Candida, Sclerotium, Fusarium, Mucor, and Rhizopus. Abstract

Penanganan kasus stunting belum efektif disebabkan pendataan yang masih dilakukan secara manual oleh Posyandu setempat atau pemerintah desa. Perlu dilakukan upaya-upaya untuk mengatasi masalah stunting di wilayah dengan melakukan pendataan di daerah-daerah yang terdapat kasus stunting. Posyandu sebagai garda terdepan dalam pendataan status kesehatan balita terutama stunting masih melakukan pendataan secara manual dan belum memanfaatkan teknologi smartphone dalam menginputkan data. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sistem pendataan dan monitoring untuk pencegahan stunting di kota bogor berbasis web. Tahapan penelitian meliputi: Planning, Analysis, Design, Implementation, Testing Integration, dan Maintenance. Hasil penelitian ini berupa sistem pendataan dan monitoring stunting yang memiliki fitur-fitur untuk menampilkan data balita meliputi : fitur tambah data balita, fitur label data, fitur tambah petugas, fitur tambah ahli, dan fitur untuk export data ke excel. Website ini telah diuji menggunakan blackbox testing. Skor hasil pengujian sistem ini adalah 100%, yaitu sistem berjalan sesuai dengan output yang diharapkan

Abstract

Introduction: Taro leaf (Colocasia esculenta (L). Schott) are known to contain flavonoid compounds that have antibacterial activity that causes wound infections. One of the topical dosage forms for the treatment of bacterial infections in wounds is emulgel which can convey the active substance of the drug with hydrophobic properties. Appropriate and effective topical administration is expected to reduce and prevent wound infection. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of taro leaf extract emulgel preparations against Staphylococcus aureus, Proteus mirabilis, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria based on the width of inhibition (LDH) value. Methods: Taro leaf extract emulgel preparations were made as many as 4 formulas with different extract concentrations namely (F1) 5%, (F2) 7.5% and (F3) 10% and (F0) as a negative control containing only emulgel base. Testing of emulgel preparations includes organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, spreadability, and viscosity. Antibacterial testing using disc paper diffusion method with positive control sulfadiazine silver and negative control emulgel base. Results: The results showed that the emulgel preparation was viscous, brownish green in color, and had a distinctive smell of taro leaf extract. The mean pH values were 5.657-5.912, spreadability 5.845-6.258 cm, and viscosity 7830-9780 cps. Statistical test results of antibacterial activity of taro leaf extract emulgel with sig 0.000 <0.05 showed that all concentrations of taro leaf extract emulgel provide inhibition against bacteria. Conclusion: The best antibacterial activity was shown by 10% concentration of taro leaf extract emulgel against Staphylococcus aureus (10.69mm), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (10.50mm), Escherichia coli (10.34mm) and Proteus mirabilis (10.14mm) all with strong inhibition zone category (10-20mm).

Abstract

Cikarawang Village, Dramaga District, Bogor Regency has a Merdesa community which engaged in plantations. This community has become micro/small/medium enterprises (MSMEs) but has not been able to significantly improve the welfare of the community in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The purpose of this activity is to be able to develop the home yards of the Cikarawang Village community to be more useful, the second can increase the community's production sector, and the last is expected to increase the birth of MSMEs in Cikarawang Village. This program is also carried out in collaboration with the Kebun Merdesa Community. Herbs are the community's choice in curing diseases, and some even cultivate herbs as Family Medicinal Plants or commonly referred to as Family Medicinal Plants. The Family Medicinal Plants area around the community's yard area can easily obtain medicinal plants which are then processed into herbal medicine. This program will also involve education units. Promotional media in the form of banners, billboards, and banners will be made and installed in strategic locations towards partners to complement this program which is also a means of information for the village community. This activity involved 2 lecturers and 2 students from Pharmacy Bachelor Program with combined the program of Freedom of Learning Independent Campus which oriented towards community service. The formation of micro-business units in Cikarawang Kebun Merdesa Village, increasing the productivity and creativity of Cikarawang Village’s youth, and also providing added value economically, socially, and culturally were implemented.

Abstract

Health is a very valuable factor in life. One way to improve health or immunity is by consuming herbal drinks. Herbal drinks are believed to have beneficial properties for healing disease. Livelihoods in Pagelaran Village are dominated by laborers, farmers, traders and domestic workers, with educational levels dominated by junior high and high school levels. The problems found in Pagelaran Village are public health problems, so it is necessary to improve welfare, one of which is by consuming healty drinks made from herbal plants. Red ginger is widely used to treat various diseases such as colds, digestive disorders, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory and also analgesic. Compounds of lemongrass that have a good prospects for increasing immune system activity are usually flavonoids, curcumin, limonoids, vitamin C, vitamin E (tocopherol) and catechins. Lemons also contain quercetin which can increase the body's immunity. This PKM activitiy was carried out in Agroeduwisata Lembah Watu, Pagelaran Village, Bogor Regency, took the form of training in making herbal drinks to increase body’s immunity for women of PKK and KWT. The implementation of this PKM activity can increase the knowledge of utilizing, processing and packaging herbal plants into herbal drink products. This PKM activity, it is hoped that people will be able to make and consume health drinks which can be used to increase the body’s immunity so that the quality of life can improves too.
