Abstract

Abstract This community service initiative is motivated by the challenges faced in Indramayu Regency, particularly in Bulak Village, in the areas of education and employment. The average length of schooling for residents in Indramayu is only 6.94 years, the lowest in West Java Province. This situation negatively impacts job opportunities, economic well-being, and increases the risk of human trafficking, especially for female migrant workers (TKW) working abroad. The Community Service Program is carried out using a community empowerment approach through the development of equivalency education and anti-human trafficking (TPPO) education campaigns. The program involves 25 participants, including village officials, PKBM administrators, PKK members, youth groups (Karang Taruna), and MSME actors. Activities are conducted through workshops and discussion forums designed to enhance participants' knowledge and skills. The implementation of this program successfully increased community awareness and skills in education, communication, and economic fields. This success was supported by active community participation and close collaboration with local government and related institutions. Abstract

To remain competitive in the dynamic marketplace, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) must prioritize product aesthetics and branding. A common challenge faced by many MSMEs is the lack of visually appealing products and a weak brand identity, particularly in terms of logos. A compelling and distinctive logo can effectively differentiate a brand from its competitors, cultivate customer trust, and enhance brand recall. The project partner, Roti Bakar Mas Royy, an MSME that leverages e-commerce platforms such as Gojek and Shopee Food, exemplifies these challenges. The business's visual communication issues stem from inadequate e-commerce visuals and the absence of a logo to serve as a corporate identity. To address these shortcomings, the community service team designed product visuals and a logo that align with the MSME's identity.

Abstract

AbstractThe Bridging the Digital Gap program at SKB 33 Jakarta successfully enhanced urban community digital literacy through a participatory approach based on three pillars: digital ethics, anti-hoax competence, and social media literacy. This Participatory Action Research (PAR) involved 45 participants using interactive workshops, hoax verification simulations, digital ethics focus group discussions, and positive content agent role-plays. The results showed significant improvement in: (1) information verification skills (92% of participants mastered reverse image search), (2) privacy management (100% were able to set at least three security settings), and (3) understanding of digital ethics (increased by 73%). Behavioral transformation was evident from an 87% reduction in hoax dissemination and the formation of five independent monitoring groups at the neighborhood level (RT/RW). The program’s success was supported by: (1) the use of local case studies (e.g., Jakarta flood issues), (2) a humanistic approach led by Intan Purnama Dewi emphasizing the real impact of digital interactions, and (3) intergenerational collaboration through the involvement of university students as near-peer educators. Strategic recommendations include replicating the model in 37 other SKB/PKBM centers, integrating the “Bijak Medsos” (Wise Social Media) module into the equivalency education curriculum, and developing the “Jakarta Hoax Detective” app. These findings demonstrate that non-formal education spaces like SKB 33 can effectively serve as digital bridges to cultivate an urban society that is critical, ethical, and resilient in facing the challenges of the digital era.
