Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the association of mangrove diversity and bivalve populations in the mangrove walkway of Aimoli Village. The method, used, is divided into two parts. First, mangrove ecosystem data collection, second, bivalve population data collection. Information on the condition of the mangrove ecosystem was used to analyze the Index of Important Value (INP). The results found, 7 mangrove species namely; Rhizopora apiculata, Aegialitis annulata, Rhizophora stylosa, Bruguera ghimnorrhiza, Osbornia octodonta, Aegiceras floridum, Sonneratia alba, with the following calculation results, (a) At the tree level, mangrove species are dominated by Rhizophora stylosa, 18 trees, with Relative Density (KR) = 36. 73%, Relative Frequency (FR) = 28.57%, and Relative Dominance (DR) = 39.67%, with the highest Index of Important Value (INP), namely, 104.98%; (b) diversity index (H') all species obtained 1.3805; (c) diversity index (H') seedlings, of all species, 1.3454. The diversity of mangrove species at the Aimoli Village mangrove walkway tourism site is moderate, the average tree volume is ± 72m3/ha. The availability of bivalves with an average of 139.6 individuals/m2, positively proportional to, tree volume interval 65-80m3/ha, which indicates the fertility of individual plants in a moderate community with a good category, this is real, a significant impact of the contribution of bivalves to the fertility of the mangrove environment.

Abstract

Ternate Island, Alor Regency is an area that has the potential for diving and snorkeling tourism, so it is necessary to study the suitability and carrying capacity of the area. This study aims to determine the potential of coral reef ecosystems and the level of suitability for snorkeling tourism. The method used is the LIT method based on equations (English et al. 1994). The results of the study for snorkeling tours show that there are three suitable stations (S2), namely stations 1, 2, and 3, while station 4 is not in the appropriate category (S3). The carrying capacity of the area for snorkeling tours is obtained by an area of ± 110,915 m2 with a total of 443 people/day with a carrying capacity of ± 44 people/day

Abstract

This Community Service activity aims to change the pattern of understanding of the people who inhabit the coast of Pante Deere Village, who often exploit mangrove plants, which has the potential to result in a decrease in the population of mangrove plants which has an impact on the stability of the life of mangrove association organisms which make mangroves as niche and ecological niches and even legal repercussions for unscrupulous mangrove forest cutters. The process of community service activities is carried out through counseling, lectures, discussions, and question-and-answer sessions with target partners, namely the coastal community of Pante Deree Village, comprising a total of 64 family heads. In general, it is classified into several stages, among others, the Preparation Stage, Implementation Stage, and Evaluation Stage. This community service activity was declared successful, significantly, namely 90%, because there were changes in knowledge and understanding experienced by partners. It is reflected in the ability to understand and be able to apply it after this community service activity is completed.

Abstract

The area of seaweed cultivation in the waters of Aimoli Village is not yet comprehensively known, and this condition affects information related to production volume. This study aims to uncover information related to the area of cultivation and production volume of seaweed (Kappaphycus striatum) in Aimoli Village, Northwest Alor District. If utilized optimally, it can support seaweed productivity in Aimoli Village. In this study, the methods used were weighing the seedlings, measuring the length of the ropes, counting the planting points on each rope, weighing the wet seaweed at harvest, and weighing the dry seaweed ready for sale with the same rope length as when weighed wet. Furthermore, to measure the area of cultivation, the classification of land area that has been utilized and not yet utilized was done using ArcGIS 10.8 software based on historical cultivation processes and visual observations. The results of the study in Aimoli Village indicate that seaweed production in 2024 will be as follows: Number of seaweed farmers: 35 people; Wet seaweed: 169 tons; Dry seaweed: 84 tons. For 2025, in the first cycle (January-March), wet seaweed production is 42 tons, while dry seaweed production is 31 tons. The total seaweed production for 2024-2025 is 115 tons. The area that can be used as seaweed cultivation land in Aimoli Village is 11.11 hectares, but it has only been utilized for seaweed cultivation development. Seaweed cultivation only covers an area of 2.22 hectares or 19.98%.
