Abstract

Mirah chickens are Indonesian indigenous chickens that originate from Simalungun Regency, North Sumatera Province of Indonesia. The study aimed to determine the genetic characterization of Mirah chicken based on the mitochondrial D-loop region (838 bp). Twenty Mirah cocks from Simalungun Regency of Indonesia were used in the present study. The results showed that fourteen haplotypes were found in the studies of birds based on sixteen mutation sites. Therefore, these haplotype and nucleotide diversities in the partial D-loop region of the Mirah chicken were classified as high. The Median-joining tree revealed that the Mirah chickens were classified in a similar cluster with the Red jungle fowl (Gallus gallus). Ten haplotypes of birds were close to G. g. bankiva, and four haplotypes of birds were close to G. g. gallus. In conclusion, Mirah chickens had the genetic introgression from two sub-species of Red junglefowl, i.e., G.g. gallus and G.g. bankiva. Hence, the pure breeding program for Mirah chickens is important to conserve their genetic resources from extinction.

Abstract

The community service program conducted by Group 3 of KPPM 48 students from Universitas HKBP Nommensen Medan focus on improving educational quality in Parparean II Village through teaching activities and tutoring sessions. This program implemented an interactive learning approach emphasizing discussion and active student participation, involving collaboration between students, SD 173635, and village officials. Activities took place over five days, from February 20, to February 25, 2025, targeting local children. Based on our evaluation, there was 25% increase in participants academic understanding, particularly in Mathematics. Betond academic improvement, the program succesfully fostered learning interest and strengthened social rrelationship between students and the community. This experience not only benefit the children receiving the program but also provided valuable learning for students in understanding educational challenges in rural areas. Active support from the village government and local community was key to the program’s success. It is hoped that this service activity can provide a sustainable impact on improving the quality of human resources in Parparean II Village anda motivating the learning spirit of the local younger generation.

Abstract

This community service activity is related to the role of students in setting an example for society in creating a clean and healthy environment. This activity is a platform that allows students to directly contribute to addressing issues in the community. This activity aims to raise public awareness about a clean and healthy environment. The methods used in this program include discussions and coordination with village officials, field activities such as community service, the creation of bamboo waste banks, and socialization. The result of this activity is that the students gained direct experience with social issues, implemented solutions, and increased the community's awareness of cleanliness and environmental health.

Abstract

Community Service Lecture (KPPM) is an academic program that aims to implement science and technology (IPTEKS) in helping communities overcome existing problems. This activity carries a multidisciplinary approach and begins with observation and mapping of the area to design appropriate solutions. One of the locations for the implementation of KPPM is Parparean I Village, Porsea District, Toba Regency, where the majority of the population works as rice farmers and has abundant banana farming. The main problem found in this village is the lack of community skills in processing bananas into high-value products. So far, bananas have only been consumed directly or processed in simple forms such as fried bananas and kolak. Therefore, KPPM activities are focused on education and training in processing bananas into various innovative products, such as chocolate banana chips, kul-kul ice, and banana curry. The main objective of this program is to improve community skills in diversifying banana-based products in order to open up business opportunities and improve their economic welfare. In addition, this program also provides benefits for students by allowing them to apply the knowledge they have learned in college and improve their problem-solving and collaboration skills with the community. The results of this activity show that the community begins to understand the importance of innovation in banana processing and gain new skills in banana-based food production. With ongoing assistance, it is hoped that the community can develop local products that are competitive in the market and create a better economic impact in the long term. KPPM not only provides benefits to the community but also to students and universities in carrying out the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, especially in the field of community service.

Abstract

Waste is material that is wasted or discarded from natural processes and sources of human activity that has no economic value. Tarhilala Waste Bank is one of the communities in Toba Regency, which means “feels the benefits” of worthless waste, but sorted and deposited in the waste bank becomes quite useful because of the barter system, where waste can be exchanged for basic necessities. Trash bins are infrastructure that is useful for separating waste according to its basic material, so it can indirectly help students to maintain environmental cleanliness and dispose of waste according to its type. The purpose of this activity is to find out what Tarhilala Garbage Bank and KPPM 48 Students of HKBP Nommensen University Medan did to increase the awareness of SD N 173635 Parparean students in disposing of waste according to its type and maintaining environmental cleanliness. Based on this activity, it can be concluded that the socialization of Tarhilala Waste Bank and KPPM 48 Students of HKBP Nommensen Medan University at SD N 173635 Parparean is good, it can be seen from students who dispose of waste according to their type.

Abstract

The Student Service Practice Lecture (KPPM) activity aims to increase student empathy and concern for others. Each service group team is required to carry out a work program that benefits the village. Making trash cans is one of the work programs carried out by KPPM students. The purpose of this work program activity is to increase the awareness of the Parparean IV village community of the importance of protecting the environment and provide education to the village community not to litter and know the negative effects and dangers of waste on health, through the making of pilot bamboo bins and waste decomposition educational media boards. In addition, the purpose of this activity is to optimize public awareness to dispose of waste in the bins provided, and it is hoped that the community can also take advantage of existing natural resources to make their bins. The method of activities carried out consists of 3 stages, namely the planning stage in the form of licensing, the implementation stage in the form of making bins and educational media boards, and the final stage in the form of distributing bins. After the pilot bins were completed, the service team conducted limited socialization in several residents' homes, without holding formal events or large meetings. This socialization was carried out informally while interacting with residents, to convey information about the importance of cleanliness and waste management.

Abstract

The purpose of this service is to create a successful marketing strategy to increase the marketing results of student numbers at State Elementary School (SDN) No. 173634 Porsea. This has led to a decline in student numbers in recent years. Education marketing is essential to build a positive image of the school and stimulate community interest. This service activity was carried out using interviews and observations. Interviews were conducted to obtain more in-depth information. Observations were made to obtain more accurate and detailed information, by observing activities carried out by students of Public Elementary School No. 173634 Porsea, such as teaching and learning activities, extracurricular activities, and other activities. The results showed that effective marketing strategies include improving the quality of education, expanding collaboration networks with parents and communities, and promoting social media. Although the number of students decreased, the efforts proved to increase positive results. The school has made several efforts to improve its image and the quality of education which has started to get positive attention from the community. The smaller decrease shows that the efforts made to attract students are starting to show results, indicating that steps have been taken by the school to improve the quality of education and improve the school's image in the eyes of the community. Schools can promote in any way that emphasizes the importance of marketing in building a positive image and increasing community interest.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan bernyanyi siswa kelas VI di Sekolah Dasar Negeri 173632 melalui lagu nasional "Indonesia Raya". penerapan teknik vokal. Pengabdian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan metode pengabdian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan dalam beberapa siklus, meliputi tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan teknik vokal secara sistematis mampu meningkatkan kualitas bernyanyi siswa. Latihan pernapasan diafragma membantu siswa mengontrol suara dengan lebih stabil, teknik artikulasi membuat lirik lagu lebih jelas, latihan intonasi meningkatkan ketepatan nada, serta teknik ekspresi membantu siswa menyampaikan emosi dalam lagu dengan lebih baik. Analisis data menunjukkan adanya peningkatan rata-rata keterampilan bernyanyi siswa dari kategori cukup menjadi baik setelah diberikan tindakan. Selain itu, hasil observasi menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas siswa merasa lebih percaya diri dan menikmati pembelajaran bernyanyi dengan pendekatan teknik vokal. Dengan demikian, pengabdian ini dapat membantu meningkatkan keterampilan vokal siswa begitu juga pengetahuan bagi siswa dan guru begitu juga bagi pembaca.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas sosialisasi narkoba terhadap peningkatan pemahaman remaja di SDN 173632 Porsea, Kabupaten Toba. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuisioner sebelum dan sesudah sosialisasi, yang mencakup berbagai aspek pemahaman tentang narkoba. Hasil Pengabdian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam ketepatan menjawab setelah sosialisasi. Sebelum sosialisasi, rata-rata ketepatan menjawab hanya 74,4%, sementara setelah sosialisasi meningkat menjadi 99,5%. Peningkatan paling mencolok terlihat pada pemahaman tentang jenis narkoba, yang awalnya hanya 12,3% menjadi 100%. Selain itu, pemahaman mengenai efek narkoba juga meningkat dari 68% menjadi 100%. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa sosialisasi berperan penting dalam meningkatkan kesadaran dan pengetahuan remaja mengenai bahaya narkoba.Oleh karena itu, sosialisasi narkoba terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman remaja, sehingga dapat membantu para pembaca terkhusus nya guru dan siswa dalam memahami pencegahan penyalahgunaan narkoba di kalangan pelajar.

Abstract

Program hidup sehat dan kebersihan merupakan bagian penting dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas hidup masyarakat. Salah satu implementasi program ini adalah melalui sosialisasi cuci tangan yang baik dan benar di Desa Parparean I. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas sosialisasi mencuci tangan dalam meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap kebersihan dan kesehatan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi penyuluhan, demonstrasi langsung, pembagian fasilitas cuci tangan, serta kampanye melalui media sosial dan alat peraga. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kesadaran dan perilaku hidup bersih di kalangan masyarakat, terutama dalam menurunkan angka kejadian penyakit menular. Dengan demikian, program ini dapat dijadikan sebagai model dalam penerapan pola hidup sehat di wilayah pedesaan.
