Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of online and offline advertising media on decision making to purchase Lam-Lam brand bottled drinking water among the people of Bima City. The research population was all buyers of Lam-Lama mineral drinking water in Bima City, and 53 consumers were used as research samples. The research instrument was a questionnaire using a Likert scale, and the data was analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The research results show that the use of online advertising media has a positive and significant influence on the decision of buyers of the Lam-Lam brand of mineral water in Bima City. The use of offline advertising media has a positive and significant effect on the decision of buyers of the Lam-Lam brand of mineral water. The use of online and offline advertising media has a simultaneous and significant influence on the decisions of buyers of Lam-Lam mineral water. The implication of this research is that companies can continuously carry out marketing activities online and offline in a balanced manner so that the product image is increasingly trusted by consumers.

Abstract

Student-centered learning has an influence on improving critical thinking skills and learning motivation of students. Science learning, with the complexity and dynamics of the material taught, provides a good opportunity for the development of critical thinking skills. This study aims to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model on the motivation and critical thinking skills of students in the subject of science for grade V. This study is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design model. The subjects in this study were 46 students of grade V. The instrument in this study used a questionnaire for the motivation variable and a test for students' critical thinking skills. The data analysis method through data analysis prerequisites with data distribution normality tests and data homogeneity tests, then hypothesis testing using the t-test (independent sample t-test). The results of this study indicate that the problem-based learning model has a significant effect on the learning motivation of grade V students in the subject of science at MI Terpadu Bina Putra Cendikia Ponorogo. The problem-based learning model has a significant effect on the critical thinking skills of grade V students in the subject of science at MI Terpadu Bina Putra Cendikia Ponorogo. This is proven by hypothesis testing that there is a significant difference between the critical thinking abilities of students in the experimental class and the control class.

Abstract

Academic writing skills are essential competencies for students to support academic success and scholarly publication; however, many students still struggle to produce publishable academic writing. This study aims to explore the use of an authentic learning approach as a strategy to help students complete academic writing assignments effectively. This study employs a descriptive-analytical approach, using systematic observation of variables. Thirty students who enrolled in the academic writing course of Universitas Terbuka (UT) were involved as respondents in this present study. The participants had to follow the systematic online learning sessions of the academic writing course. After completing the academic writing course, participants must be able to write a proper academic article for a related journal. The academic writing online course was designed and developed with the following nine principles of authentic learning: authentic context, authentic tasks and activities, access to expert performances, multiple roles and perspectives, supporting collaborative construction of knowledge, promoting reflection and articulation, providing coaching and scaffolding, and assessing the students' writing assignment. The results of the study indicated that students' scores increased after completing the authentic learning-based academic writing courses. The study recommends that an authentic learning approach is essential in an academic writing course, as it provides real learning experiences that help students complete the academic writing assignments.

Abstract

This article will elaborate on the possibility of implementing constructivism learning theories in designing an online learning tutorial program that will support and facilitate distance learning students to build better knowledge and skills. Universitas Terbuka (UT), an Indonesian state university that implements a distance learning system, conducts an online learning program to support the students’ learning process. The use of digital and network technology has significant effects on the human learning process. It changes the paradigm of learning and instruction. Recently, by using digital and network technology, students can learn without facing the restriction of time and place. In addition, the students can use various learning resources and materials to support their efforts in gaining knowledge and skills. The use of constructivism theory in online learning is expected to enable students to widen their knowledge and sharpen their skills while learning. This study uses a research and development approach to create a constructivist online learning program that can facilitate distance learning students' achieving their learning objectives.
