Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui batasan jumlah perlakuan (campuran limbah sawit dan dedak padi dengan Pleurotus ostreatus) dalam ransum dan pengaruhnya terhadap kualitas internal telur puyuh. Uji biologis penelitian ini menggunakan ternak puyuh sebanyak 200 ekor, umur 20 minggu dengan rataan 60% produksi telur harian. Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan (0, 6, 12, 18, dan 24%) serta 4 ulangan. Hasil analisis ragam penelitian ini menunjukkan pengaruh perlakuan tidak memberikan pengaruh (P>0,05) terhadap berat putih telur dan kuning telur, lemak kuning, dan warna kuning telur, tetapi memberikan pengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap kolesterol kuning telur. Pemberian campuran limbah sawit dan dedak padi fermentasi dengan Pleurotus ostreatus dapat diberikan sampai 24% serta dapat memperbaiki kualitas telur puyuh dengan terjadinya penurunan kolesterol sebesar 21,01% dibandingkan dengan ransum tanpa perlakuan.

Abstract

Manajemen kesehatan ternak memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan produktivitas kambing Peranakan Ettawa (PE), terutama dalam produksi susu dan daging. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak penerapan manajemen kesehatan yang terintegrasi terhadap produktivitas kambing PE di UPT Pembibitan Ternak dan Produksi Pakan, Desa Sumlili, Kupang Barat, Kabupaten Kupang, NTT. Solusi yang diterapkan meliputi pengobatan kambing yang menderita scabies dan mastitis, pemberian pakan konsentrat sesuai kebutuhan nutrisi, serta penerapan manajemen kesehatan yang lebih baik. Faktor penentu keberhasilan mencakup pemberian obat dan vitamin secara teratur, penerapan biosekuriti, dan pengelolaan pakan yang efisien. Kendati demikian, hambatan seperti akses teknologi yang terbatas dan tingginya biaya operasional menjadi tantangan utama bagi peternak dalam mengadopsi sistem ini secara menyeluruh. Untuk mengatasi hal ini, program PKM merekomendasikan peningkatan penyuluhan serta dukungan dari pemerintah dan lembaga terkait. Dengan kolaborasi berbagai pihak, diharapkan penerapan manajemen kesehatan dapat meningkatkan produktivitas kambing PE, mendukung ketahanan pangan, dan memberikan manfaat ekonomi yang signifikan bagi peternak di pedesaan.

Abstract

This study is grounded in the significance of daidzein as a phytoestrogen with potential to enhance livestock reproductive performance, while its availability in conventional feed ingredients remains limited. Alysicarpus vaginalis is a local legume species exhibiting relatively high phenolic and flavonoid compounds, including isoflavones, making this information crucial for developing phytogenic based functional feed. This research aimed to evaluate the effect of varying phosphorus fertilizer doses on daidzein isoflavone content in Alysicarpus vaginalis. An experimental study was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five phosphorus dose treatments (0, 10, 20, 30, and 40 kg P/ha) and three replications. The methodology included: (1) isoflavone extraction via 70% ethanol maceration, (2) extract concentration using a rotary evaporator, and (3) quantitative analysis of daidzein content in phosphorus fertilized Alysicarpus vaginalis using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). Increasing phosphorus doses (0–40 kg P/ha) significantly (P<0.05) elevated daidzein content from 0.0922 g/100 g sample (control, 0 kg P/ha) to 2.9978 g/100 g sample at the highest dose (40 kg P/ha). Statistical analysis revealed a strong positive correlation between phosphorus dosage and daidzein accumulation (R² = 0.985). Phosphorus fertilizer application enhances daidzein production in Alysicarpus vaginalis, implying potential for functional feed development to support livestock health and productivity.

Abstract

Land productivity is significantly influenced by the patterns of land use and management practices employed. The excessive application of chemical composts and pesticides has been shown to degrade soil fertility and pose long-term threats to environmental sustainability. To mitigate these adverse effects, it is essential to introduce the principles of conservation-oriented agriculture from an early age. This community engagement activity was designed to provide elementary students at SD Negeri 13 Taliwang, West Sumbawa Regency, with direct experience in the production and application of organic compost. Moreover, the program aligns with the objectives of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5), particularly through its focus on practical planting activities using potted plants. The implementation methods included an introductory session on the concept and environmental benefits of bokashi, which included a practical session involving direct student participation in the compost making process. Besides introducing eco-friendly technologies, the activity fostered environmental awareness among students. Similar programs should be continued to support early understanding of sustainable agriculture.
