Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a crucial role in shaping and enhancing students' spirituality in the midst of modernisation and globalisation. This research aims to explore how PAI can strengthen students' spiritual awareness and identify effective learning strategies in shaping their character. This research uses the library research method by analysing various related literatures. The findings revealed that a learning approach that integrates cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects, supported by Islamic values-based extracurricular activities, can strengthen students' spiritual dimension. In addition, the role of teachers as role models, the habituation of worship, and a supportive educational environment are important factors in building students' religious character. However, in practice, there are still obstacles such as the lack of innovation in teaching methods, which can hinder the effectiveness of PAI. Therefore, more innovative learning strategies are needed, including experiential approaches and the utilisation of technology, so that Islamic religious education is increasingly relevant and has a real impact on the lives of students.

Abstract

This article discusses the relevance of riba and bank interest from the perspective of Wahbah Az-Zuhaili. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach, and the type of research is literature research. This research combines data collection techniques with document studies, so that data in the form of journals and books related to the thought of Wahbah Az-Zuhaili is used as a primary source in this study and refers to the work of Ibn Khaldun. The data used are related to Wahbah Az-Zuhaili's thoughts on the law of riba and the relevance between bank interest and usury. This research shows that, Wahbah Az-Zuhaili argues that bank interest is included in riba nasiah, which is prohibited because it is an addition to financial transactions without clear rewards and is only based on a delay in payment time. Wahbah Az-Zuhaili emphasized that bank interest is the same as jahiliyah usury, both large and small, and has been declared haram based on the Qur'an, Sunnah, and ijma' of the Companions. This practice is considered to be detrimental to borrowers and creates economic injustice.

Abstract

Low student motivation remains a significant challenge in Islamic education, particularly in subjects that are often perceived as theoretical, such as Fiqh. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Quizizz interactive media as an evaluation tool to enhance students’ learning motivation in Fiqh learning. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a quantitative approach involving 60 eighth-grade students from MTs Al-Musyaffa’, divided into an experimental group using Quizizz and a control group using conventional methods. Data were collected using a validated motivation questionnaire and analyzed through independent sample t-tests. The results showed a significant difference in learning motivation between the two groups. The experimental group achieved a higher average motivation score (M = 57.78) compared to the control group (M = 48.28), with a t-value of 5.852 (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that Quizizz is effective in improving students’ motivation by creating a more engaging, interactive, and competitive learning atmosphere. The gamified features of Quizizz, such as real-time feedback, scoring, and leaderboards, encourage students to actively participate in the evaluation process and enhance their enthusiasm for learning. In conclusion, the integration of Quizizz in Fiqh learning evaluation contributes positively to students’ motivation and can serve as an innovative approach to support digital-based Islamic education.
