Abstract

Abstract. A Wind turbine is a wind energy converters tool into electrical energy. To optimize the electrical energy converted, it needs for further research on wind turbine process. In this research, the analysis part of wind turbine is rotor, which is the contacted part to the wind. Type of wind turbine that will be analyzed in this study is HAWT (Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine) type because this model is the most often used type and can produce great electrical energy. This research construct a model of the air flow field form of wind turbine rotor and solve these problems by using the finite volume method. Model simulation process will be done by using MATLAB and FLUENT software. The analysis was performed with the variation initial velocity level of wind. It is 3 m/s, 5 m/s, and 7 m/s. The simulation results showed that the velocity of rotation wind turbine rotor blade higher when the initial wind velocity increases. Beside that, the result is when the initial wind velocity of 7 m/s and 5 m/s, the velocity of rotation wind turbine rotor blade tend to be more stable. With 5 m/s of wind velocity to wind turbine rotor, The difference between an average direct calculation and a SOR iterative calculation is obtained the value of relative error less than 0.1%. it is 0.079%. So the finite volume method of numerical methods is effective to solve this problem. Key Words : Electrical Energy, Finite Volume Method, Velocity, Wind Turbine,.

Abstract

Abstract. Coffee bean is one of the superior agricultural products in Indonesia. One of the factors that affect the productivity is the cropping pattern of coffee plants. A well organized cropping pattern will make a well organized air circulation which affects the productivity of coffee beans. In this research, a model of air circulation is built based on prism graph for the cropping pattern and solved by using Finite Volume Method (FVM). The model simulation process is done by using MATLAB and FLUENT software. The model is built according to the slope of stem and the temperature of coffee plantation. The temporary result of the research shows that prism graph cropping pattern results good air circulation and also gives good effect to the air circulation around the coffee plantation. The same thing happens to the effect of the slope of stem, the more upright the coffee plant is, the better air circulation and vice versa. Abstract

Abstract. Polya model is one of problem solving model that help the students for solving applicative math problems. Furthermore, Polya defines problem solving as an attempt to find the way out from one difficultness, and reach the unreachable objective that cannot be solved at once. The research aims are (1) how do the Polya problem solve appliment solve the applicative questions, (2) how do the activities of the students as long as Polya problem solve appliment occur to solve the applicative questions, (3) how do the student learn finishment after Polya problem solving appliment occur to solve the applicative question. The results showed improvement of the results of work of students using the Polya Model to solve the problem about applicative questions from first cycle to the next cycle. The research subjects are for analyzing qualitative and quantitative data. The research result shows that category activity in the “rexamine” and “presentation” are the lowest. The learning activity result in the first cycle are 64,1% student complete and not fulfill the classical absorptive power because of ≤ 70%. The second cycle result is increasing of learning result for 79,49% which means has reached classical complement. So, the research has fulfilled the research aims. Abstract

Abstract. The air flow velocity is one of many factor which should be considered in building a skyscraper. This is because the air flow velocity can affect the comfort of house room. The method which is used to solve the air flow analysis is a finite volume withusing Quadratic Upwind Interpolation Convective Kinematics (QUICK) discretization technique. Finite volume method is used to obtain a mathematical model of air flow velocity and QUICK is used to discretize it such that it will yield a linier equation system in a matrix of size (mn)×(mn). To simulate the air flow analysis is used Matlab and Fluent softwares. The result show that if the barrier is higher the air flow velocity will be decreased and if the distance of barrier is longerthe air flow velocity will be increased. It can be conclude that this analysis can be applied to have a comfort house room. Key Words : air flow velocity,mathematic model, finite volume method,QUICK

Abstract

Abstract. The problem based learning model or known as Problem Based Instruction (PBI) always presents problems in real life context. This learning model has brought the students to get involved in the process of finding and investigating. The steps in this learning model were directing the students to the problems, organizing the students to learn, helping independent and group investigation, developing and presenting artifact and exhibits, and also analyzing and evaluating of problem solving. This research applied two cycles covering planning, action, observing, and reflection. The Approach used in this research was qualitative approach. This research was a Class room Action Research Design (CAR). This research design was adopted from Hopkin’s, which each cycle has four phases or steps, those are planning, action, observing, and reflection, and then continued to the following cycle. Data collection method used in this research was test, observation, documentation, and interview. Acording to the observation, the students individual activity from the first up to the fourth meeting is 69,87%, 72,22%, 74,3% and 79,72%, and the students group activity from the first up to the fourth meeting is 75,27%, 76,13%, 80,83% and 91,1%. The percentage of the students who achieved the target was 82.5%, with 7 students were failed in the first cycle. In the second cycle, the percentage of the students who achieved the target was 95% with 2 students were failed. Key Words : Problem Based Instruction, Achievements

Abstract

Abstract: In 2013, there were changes of curriculum in Indonesia. The name of new curriculum is 2013 curriculum. The difference of 2013 curriculum is the student book has been provided by The Goverment. Analysis on student book is needed for reviewing the suitability of student book by 2013 curriculum formulation. Analysis was done based on four criteria, that are competence, material, scientific approach and authentic assessment. Research instrument was form of questions that consist of : 11 competence questions, 11 material questions, 10 scientific approach questions, and 8 authentic assessment questions. Analysis result showed the persentage of competence suitability is 80,49% (good categories), for the persentage of material suitability is 81,06% (good categories), for the persentage of scientific approach suitability is 95,83% (very well categories), and the persentage of authentic assessment suitability is 88,80% (very well categories). Abstract

Tanaman Kopi adalah salah satu komoditi ekspor utama Indonesia. Berdasarkan data dari tahun 2013, Indonesia menempati peringkat empat besar sebagai pengekspor biji kopi di dunia setelah Columbia, Vietnam, dan Brasil. Perluasan lahan tanaman kopi telah dilakukan untuk  meningkatkan produktifitas biji kopi, namun masih belum efektif. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi produktifitas biji kopi adalah pola tanam. Pola tanam yang baik akan mengakibatkan sirkulasi udara yang baik dan akhirnya mempengaruhi produktifitas biji kopi. Kami akan menggunakan metode volume hingga untuk menganalisis aliran udara dari penanaman kopi berdasarkan kecepatan awal udara dan pola tanam graf tangga segitiga. Proses simulasi dilakukan menggunakan software MATLAB dan FLUENT. Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa pola tanam graf tangga segitiga mengakibatkan proses sirkulasi udara yang lebih baik pada penanaman kopi.

Abstract

The advance of science and technology increases proportionally to the development of era. Today era tends to the raise to the advance of ICT. One research interest which supports the ICT development is a graph theory. A dominating set theory is one of a graph theory which has a wide range of applications mainly in communication network and space syntax theory. A set $D$ of vertices of a simple graph $G$, that is a graph without loops and multiple edges, is called a dominating set if every vertex $u\in V(G)-D$ is adjacent to some vertex $v\in D$. The domination number of a graph $G$, denoted by $\gamma_{k}{G}$; $k\in{\{1,2\}}$, is the order of a smallest dominating set of $G$. This research aims to find the domination number of some families of special graphs, disc brake graph $Db_{n,m}$, lampion graph $\pounds_{n,m}$, prism graph $D_{n,m}$, and staked ladder graph $Dt_{n,m}$.

Abstract

Kopi adalah minuman yang popular di Indonesia. Kopi merupakan salah satu komoditas unggulan dalam subsektor perkebunan di Indonesia karena memiliki peluang pasar yang baik di dalam negeri maupun luar negeri. Namun demikian ditinjau dari tingkat produktivitas dan mutu hasil belum seperti yang diharapkan, ada banyak hal yang mempengaruhi penurunan produksi kopi. Salah satu diantaranya ialah pola tanam dari tanaman kopi dan sirkulasi udaranya.  Dalam penelitian ini, kami menganalisis sirkulasi udara dan  mensimulasikannya untuk menemukan solusi dari  permasalahan sirkulasi udara pada tanaman kopi dan pola tanamnya. Abstract

The use of technology in learning is essential for developing students' ICT literacy. However, the application of technology as a learning media remains limited. The purpose of this study is to develop a learning media to enhance students' ICT literacy. This research is conducted using a 4-D model, which consists of four stages: defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. This learning media is developed based on ICT literacy indicators. The study participants are 33 of 10th-grade students at one of the public vocational schools in Jember, East Java. Data collection methods consist of validation sheets, tests, questionnaires, interviews, and observations.  The expert validation is used to validate the media, while the students' response questionnaire determines the practicality. The validity result shows that the media can be used to measure ICT literacy. Moreover, the practicality of media also shows that it can be easily applied. Furthermore, the effectiveness of learning media is obtained from the N-Gain average of test and ICT literacy questionnaire. The observation data also support the effectiveness of the media during the implementation. The result shows that the media confirmed to be effective as it can improve the students' ICT literacy. To sum up, the Schoology web-based learning media with GeoGebra is useful to improve ICT literacy on quadratic functions
