Abstract

Jintan hitam (habbatussauda) adalah tanaman yang digunakan di seluruh dunia sebagai tanaman obat untuk pencegahan dan pengobatan penyakit. Biji dan minyak yang berasal dari biji adalah bagian yang sering digunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari komponen produksi dan bahan aktif habatussauda dengan pemberian asam humat dan waktu panen berbeda. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan IPB Pasir Sarongge, Cianjur, Jawa Barat Indonesia pada bulan Mei sampai Desember 2019. Percobaan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok faktorial dengan pemberian asam humat 0, 1.5, 3.0, dan 4.5 ton ha-1 sebagai faktor pertama dan waktu panen berbeda pada 6, 7, 8, dan 9 minggu setelah antesis sebagai faktor kedua. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian asam humat sampai 3 ton ha-1 tidak menunjukkan pengaruh nyata pada produksi kapsul, biji dan produktivitas, namun pemberian asam humat 4.5 ton ha-1 menurunkan produksi kapsul dan biji. Pemberian asam humat dan waktu panen tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kadar dan produksi timokuinon. Waktu panen terbaik adalah 7 sampai 8 minggu setelah antesis pada produksi kapsul dan biji. Abstract

Corn (Zea mays) is a staple food after wheat and is a source of food that can be processed into various product. The distribution of insects on corn can be distinguished by their roles such as herbivores, predators, parasitoids and pollinators. Armyworm (Spodoptera litura) is a pest that attacks corn plants and spreads to various countries. The results of research showed that armyworm attacks on maize between plots in the food estate area of ​​the RI-Timor Leste border area varied. Plot I had the highest damage with the percentage of attacks 66.94% and a damage intensity 33.47% belong to slightly heavy damage and Plot V had damaged with percentage of attack 43.89% and the intensity of damage reached 22.08% belong to slightly heavy damage category. Plots II and III had the lowest attack with attack percentage of 12.50% and a damage intensity 6.25% with a light damage category. The armyworm is a polyphagous pest that has a variety of host plants such as sorghum, carrots, mustard greens, spinach and others. Armyworm is pest that can be minor to major status

Abstract

GLP (good laboratory practices) dapat didefinisikan sebagai standar-standar, aturan-aturan, prosedur-prosedur dan praktek kegiatan di Laboratorium. Penerapan GLP secara umum untuk meminimalkan kesalahan dalam kegiatan praktek, penelitian atau analisis. Status laboratorium pangan yang baru memiliki kekurangan seperti prosedur keamanan yang belum optimal, dan kurangnya panduan yang jelas saat berkegiatan di dalam laboratorium sehingga menyulitakan pengguna dalam berkativitas didalamnya. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini pengguna laboratorium perlu diperkenalkan dengan panduan berlaboratorium yang baik atau GLP sehingga akan meningkatkan keakuratan hasil pengujian, mengurangi resiko kecelakaan kerja, serta meningkatkan efektifitas dan efisiensi kegitan oprasional di laboratorium. Terdapat peningkatan pemahaman pengguna labortaroium mengenai GLP sebesar 44% berdasarkan hasil survei dan pelaksanaan sosialisai GLP dari 43.3% menjadi 87,3% sehingga diharapkan penerapan prinsip GLP di laboratorium dapat berjalan lebih optimal.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to implement the Integrity Zone (ZI) initiative towards establishing a Corruption-Free Zone (WBK) within the Agribusiness Study Program of the Faculty of Agriculture at Samudra University. The primary issue addressed is the absence of ZI implementation, which poses a risk to transparency, accountability, and the quality of governance within the program. The methods employed include preliminary discussions, focus group discussions (FGDs), the provision of complaint boxes and online reporting platforms, seminars/workshops, the installation of informational banners (x-banners), and activity evaluations. The outcomes of the activity indicate a 26% increase in participants’ understanding of integrity values, the establishment of a complaint mechanism, and the formulation of a draft joint commitment to ZI. This initiative has had a positive impact on fostering a culture of integrity and enhancing the quality of public service. The success of the program demonstrates that collaborative and educational approaches are effective in promoting governance reform within higher education institutions.

Abstract

Mangrove planting and coastal clean-up activities at Sukaer Laran Beach, Kenebibi Village, Belu Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, were carried out with the aim of rehabilitating coastal ecosystems and raising public awareness of the importance of environmental conservation. The activity involved lecturers and 25 cadet students from the Military Logistics Vocational Faculty (FVLM), Plantation Crop Cultivation Study Program, in collaboration with KPP Pratama Atambua. The program employed an andragogical approach, incorporating discussion and service learning methods, including a public outreach session on the importance of mangroves and coastal conservation, symbolic distribution of mangrove seedlings, planting activities, and a collective beach clean-up. The results showed increased community participation and successful rehabilitation of the coastal area through mangrove planting and waste reduction. This activity had a positive impact on coastal environmental sustainability and strengthened the role of local communities in preserving coastal ecosystems. Therefore, similar programs should continue to be supported to maintain environmental sustainability in East Nusa Tenggara's coastal regions.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of several non-pathogenic endophytic bacteria isolated from nutmeg plants on the viability of rice seeds. The experimental design used was a non-factorial completely randomized design (CRD) with three replications. The study included 14 endophytic bacterial treatments and one control. The research was conducted at the Biological Control Laboratory, Plant Protection Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh, from August 2023 to September 2023. The results showed that the application of non-pathogenic endophytic bacteria from nutmeg had a highly significant effect on rice seed viability, particularly on growth potential and germination. The highest seed viability was observed in the treatment with the bacterial isolate S - S AG 1 I. Endophytic bacterial isolates from nutmeg plants were proven to enhance the viability of Ciherang rice seeds, especially in terms of growth potential and germination. The isolate S - S AG 1 I produced the best results, with a growth potential of 84.4% and germination rate of 77.8%

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di SMKN 2 Kabupaten Belu, Nusa Tenggara Timur, dengan fokus pada Penerapan Teknologi Mekanisasi pada Tanaman Perkebunan untuk Mendukung Ketahanan Pangan Nasional. Kegiatan melibatkan dosen dan 25 kadet mahasiswa Fakultas Vokasi Logistik Militer (FVLM), Program Studi Budidaya Tanaman Perkebunan. Tujuan utama kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan siswa dalam pemanfaatan teknologi mekanisasi perkebunan guna meningkatkan efisiensi budidaya, produktivitas, dan keberlanjutan sektor pertanian. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pendekatan andragogi, diskusi interaktif, serta service learning, sehingga peserta tidak hanya memperoleh pengetahuan teoritis, tetapi juga pengalaman praktis di lapangan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta mengenai pentingnya mekanisasi perkebunan serta keterampilan dalam mengoperasikan alat dan teknologi sederhana yang relevan dengan kebutuhan lokal. Kegiatan ini memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam memperkuat ketahanan pangan nasional melalui peningkatan kapasitas SDM di bidang perkebunan.
