Abstract

Learning elements in the Basic Fashion Skills Phase E requires contextual and visual digital media. This study aims to test the feasibility of flipbook media as an alternative to interactive learning in the Industrial World and Fashion Development of SMK Negeri 6 Semarang through a quantitative descriptive method. Validation is carried out by material experts and media experts using instruments that have been tested for validity which include aspects of material, language, graphics, and the presentation of material in the media. The results of the analysis with the percentage descriptive analysis technique showed that the feasibility score of material experts was 88.75% and media experts 91.22%, both of which met  the criteria of being very feasible This Flipbook has the potential to be optimal as a supporting medium for vocational learning in fashion after revision, although its effectiveness on student motivation and learning outcomes requires further field trials.

Abstract

Mastery of fashion pattern engineering competencies is a fundamental requirement for success in applied fashion production learning. This study aims to examine the relationship between learning outcomes in the Fashion Pattern Engineering course and the Women’s Fashion Production course among students of the Fashion Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Semarang, class of 2024. A quantitative ex post facto design was employed, involving 85 students selected through saturated sampling. Data were obtained from official academic records and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including the Shapiro–Wilk test, Levene’s test, and Spearman rank correlation. The results indicated that the data were not normally distributed but homogeneous. A positive and significant correlation was found (r = 0.447; p < 0.001), categorized as moderate. These findings suggest that pattern engineering competence contributes to student achievement in fashion production. Therefore, strengthening instructional integration and supporting learning factors is necessary to improve learning outcomes.

Abstract

Community service focused on product creation and development, exceptionally functional leather craft products such as shoes, wallets, and bags, holds great promise. Integrating eco-print motif creation within these leather crafts is strategically significant. It enhances the production of these crafts and contributes positively to the economy of Faro Leather Craft artisans in the Bumirejo Mungkid Magelang foster village. One of the main challenges the artisans face is the lack of potential for creating new, varied, and dynamic motifs, especially considering their beginner level of expertise in leather craft creation. Therefore, there is a need for innovations that are easy to implement. The solution proposed through this community service involves mass production of leather crafts using eco-print techniques, thereby increasing production. This approach also involves applying and utilizing science and technology for the benefit of Magelang village, positioning it as a foster partner of Unnes. It aims to provide new insights into creating motifs with environmentally friendly innovative tools. Additionally, this innovation is targeted at artisans, including the younger generation, to foster a love for batik while focusing on the regeneration and development of batik in the Bumirejo Mungkid Magelang village. To achieve these goals, the community service project involves creating eco prints on leather craft products for use by artisans, artists, and new entrepreneurs. The initiative includes both new and existing artisans interested in participating as tenants. The project activities encompass execution, material exploration, form experimentation, and motif understanding. This includes the creation and motif development process using eco-print techniques, data analysis, motif creation, copyright registration, and report compilation. The outputs of this community service include products from training sessions, scientific articles, copyrights, and reports. Additional outputs involve consumer feasibility testing, exhibitions, and mandatory outputs such as scientific articles, highlight videos, copyrights, and reports.

Abstract

This Study aimed to create the Rona Senandhika kebaya by applying floral beading details to Chantilly lace material and to determine the feasibility level of the resulting product. The study employed a practice-based research approach, which positions the creative practice as an integral part of the research process. The research stages included concept development, design planning, pattern making, fabric cutting, sewing, the application of floral beading details, and the final finishing process. Product feasibility testing was conducted using an assessment sheet involving 21 panelists, consisting of 3 expert panelists and 18 students of Fashion Education who had completed the Haute Couture and Women's Garment Production courses. The data were analyzed using descriptive percentage analysis. The results showed that the Rona Senandhika kebaya was successfully created in accordance with the designed concept through the combination of Chantilly lace material and floral beading details, resulting in a feminine, graceful, and elegant appearance. The feasibility test results indicated that the design aspect achieved a score of 94.7%, the size aspect 96.7%, the aesthetic aspect 96.7%, the sewing technique aspect 96.5%, and the uniqueness aspect 94.6%. All aspects were categorized as Highly Feasible. Therefore, the application of floral beading details to Chantilly lace material was considered effective in enhancing the aesthetic value and producing a kebaya that is feasible and possesses a strong design character.          Keywords: kebaya, floral beading, Chantilly lace, feasibility assessment, fashion design.
