Abstract

The Effect of Guided Discovery Learning on the Mathematics Learning Outcomes of Class IV Students of SD Inpres Bontomanai, Makassar City. Thesis. Department of Elementary School Teacher Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Muhammadiyah Makassar. Supervised by Muhammad Muzaini and Wahyuddin. This study aims to describe the effect of guided discovery learning on the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth grade students at SD Inpres Bontomanai, Makassar City. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design research that aims to determine the effect of applying the guided discovery learning model to the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth grade students at SD Inpres Bontomanai, Makassar City. The sample in this study were 24 students from the experimental class and 27 students from the control class. Data collection techniques were carried out using learning outcomes tests in the form of pretest and posttest. Data analysis techniques in this study are descriptive data analysis techniques and inferential data analysis. The results showed that there was an increase in the learning outcomes of fourth grade students at SD Inpres Bontomanai with the application of the guided discovery learning model. This can be proven based on the results of the Independent-Samples T Test results obtained by the value of Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.00, because Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05 then Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected so it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class before learning where the control class has an average value of 87.50 much higher than the control class with the average value is 67.96. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of the guided discovery learning model on the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth grade students at SD Inpres Bontomanai Makassar City

Abstract

This research was qualitative research with a qualitative descriptive approach. It was conducted at Universitas Terbuka in South Sulawesi, with 224 samples spread across the Luwu Regency, Bone Regency, Gowa Regency, and Makassar City—data collection through questionnaires and interviews. The collected quantitative data was then processed using descriptive analysis, while the qualitative data was processed using data reduction, data display, conclusions, or verification. The results of the research conclude that: 1) The market segmentation of prospective UT students is dominated by prospective students aged 21-50, more dominated by women, most of them work in the informal sector, earn less than 5 million rupiah, and the distribution of applicants is generally in all regions level two in South Sulawesi Province; 2) The primary considerations in making a decision or making the choice to enroll at UT are the cheap tuition fees and the distance education model which allows students to study from home, study from the village, and study without having to leave their jobs, or they can work while studying; 3) The marketing strategy that must be developed includes: the marketing mix consists of 7Ps including product, price, promotion, place, people, process and physical evidence; and 4) The special characteristics that become UT's brand image include that the public considers that studying at UT is flexible: Open in the sense that UT accepts prospective new students openly without considering their biological age, diploma age, and unlimited study period and particular time. Long distance means that lectures can be carried out remotely, anytime, and anywhere, independent lectures with guidance from lecturers. Another brand image of UT is that UT can convince, serve, and meet stakeholders' satisfaction levels. Besides that, UT graduates have spread across various.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of emotional intelligence and learning The research variables consist of independent variables, namely emotional intelligence and learning independence, while the dependent variable is the ability to think creatively. The instrument for measuring the independent variables is an emotional intelligence questionnaire consisting of 20 question items developed from 5 indicators, namely recognizing emotions, managing emotions, motivating oneself, recognizing other people's feelings, and building relationships; the self-learning questionnaire consists of 20 question items developed from 5 indicators namely initiative, self-confidence, motivation, discipline, and responsibility; while the dependent variable is measured by a test of 4 questions created from four aspects, namely fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The questionnaire and test fulfill the validity and reliability tests. The data were processed by descriptive and inferential analysis through multiple regression analysis with the SPSS version 23 program. The study's results concluded that emotional intelligence and independent learning simultaneously affect students' creative thinking ability, with an effect is 59.7%. Partially the influence of emotional intelligence on the results of the ability to think creatively is 36.3%, and the impact of independent learning on the ability to think creatively is 9.5%. It means that the higher the emotional intelligence and learning independence students possess; their learning outcomes increase. Thus, to improve students' creative thinking abilities, emotional intelligence and learning independence must be improved first.

Abstract

Learning style is a vital component in improving the quality of learning in physics classes. This study identified the learning styles of pharmacy students in learning physics based on Felder Silverman's Learning Style Index (ILS) through a survey of first-year students. ILS Felder Silverman determines the 4 dimensions of learning style preferences, namely processing (active-reflective), perception (sensing-intuitive), input (visual-verbal), and understanding (sequential-global). Questionnaires were distributed using Google Forms in more than three weeks. The collected data were analyzed descriptively quantitatively through the ILS scoring sheet. The results showed that the preference for Active, Sensing, Visual, and Sequential (ASViS) learning styles was owned by pharmacy students in learning physics. ASViS is dominant at a balanced level, successively: Active (39.27%), Sensing (31.94%), Visual (35.08%) and Sequential (44.50%). The implications of this study illustrate the learning of lecturers in physics classes who should apply various methods by actively involving students through experiments, project-based learning and discussions and occasionally reflect in explaining material. Also apply convergent and divergent learning
