Abstract

This study provides a systematic bibliometric review of risk and uncertainty in financial management decision-making, mapping the intellectual structure, collaborative networks, and thematic evolution of this research domain. A quantitative bibliometric approach is employed using 688 articles indexed in the Scopus database. VOSviewer software is applied to conduct co-authorship mapping (authors and countries) and co-occurrence analysis  The analysis reveals that research on risk and uncertainty has expanded significantly, supported by extensive international collaborative networks. Three dominant thematic clusters emerge: risk management and investment decisions, behavioral finance and cognitive biases, and the integration of uncertainty with analytical and technological approaches. The integration of artificial intelligence represents an evolving research hotspot. The findings provide researchers and practitioners with a structured roadmap of the field, identifying high-impact collaboration opportunities and understudied thematic intersections that warrant future empirical investigation. This study offers the first holistic bibliometric review that simultaneously maps the knowledge structure, scientific collaboration patterns, thematic clusters, and future research directions in risk and uncertainty within financial management decision-making.

Abstract

Small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the food service sector frequently prioritize relational harmony over economic rationality when managing supplier relationships, yet the operational and financial consequences of this orientation remain underexplored in the Indonesian context. This study analyzes conflict avoidance behavior and its implications for cost efficiency, product quality, and supplier relationship management at Bopan Cake Samarinda, a micro-scale bakery enterprise. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with the business owner and direct non-participatory observation of daily operational activities. Thematic analysis identified five interlocking behavioral and operational patterns: (1) an avoidance-style conflict management that suppresses quality complaints to preserve supplier harmony; (2) harmony-seeking behavior that generates negative feedback barriers in the supply chain; (3) an independent, quality-driven procurement strategy; (4) perishable goods risk exposure due to organizational silence; and (5) constrained bargaining power offset by wholesale volume tactics. Findings indicate that conflict avoidance simultaneously protects product quality standards and erodes cost efficiency through uncompensated raw material waste. The study contributes an empirical case from East Kalimantan to the broader literature on organizational behavior in MSMEs and proposes an assertive communication model as a cost-neutral improvement pathway for similar small enterprises.

Abstract

This study employs a quantitative bibliometric analysis of 102 Scopus-indexed articles to map the intellectual structure of decision-making in crisis management within the financial management domain. Using VOSviewer for co-authorship, keyword co-occurrence, and text-data analyses, the research reveals reactive publication surges following major financial shocks, fragmented collaboration networks dominated by developed economies, and three thematic clusters reflecting a shift from rational-normative models toward hybrid behavioral-technology frameworks. While technology integration shows promising growth, unresolved contradictions persist between behavioral biases and algorithmic solutions. The findings highlight significant contextual gaps, particularly the under-representation of emerging-market perspectives. Theoretically, the study provides a structured intellectual scaffold that integrates macro-systemic dynamics with micro-level behavioral heterogeneity. Practically, it offers guidance for financial managers in volatile environments, with specific relevance to Indonesia where institutional and cultural factors amplify decision-making challenges. The research underscores the need for context-sensitive hybrid models and stronger South-South collaboration to enhance financial resilience in emerging economies facing recurrent global crises.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development of literature on the integration of behavioral economics into decision-making models through bibliometric analysis, with emphasis on collaboration patterns, thematic evolution, and emerging research frontiers. Data were retrieved from the Scopus database using search queries encompassing behavioral economics, behavioral finance, prospect theory, bounded rationality, and cognitive bias combined with decision-making and financial management terms. A total of 394 articles were analyzed using VOSviewer software, covering co-authorship networks, co-occurrence of keywords, and text-data mapping. The analysis reveals well-established academic collaboration networks spanning multiple countries, with behavioral finance, investment decisions, and prospect theory emerging as central research themes. Co-occurrence mapping further identifies bounded rationality and cognitive bias as foundational constructs driving the integration of behavioral economics into financial decision-making models. These findings guide researchers and practitioners toward high-impact collaboration clusters and underexplored thematic gaps, supporting the design of more behaviorally informed financial decision-making frameworks. This study contributes a systematic bibliometric mapping of an expanding interdisciplinary field, providing the first comprehensive network view of how behavioral economics intersects with decision-making research across diverse geographic and institutional contexts.

Abstract

This study maps the intellectual landscape of decision-making models within the bounded rationality framework, specifically as it applies to financial management research. A systematic bibliometric analysis was conducted on publications retrieved from Scopus and Web of Science, covering the period from the 2000 to 2026 and analyzed using VOSviewer software.Publication trends exhibit a fluctuating yet upward trajectory concentrated in the most recent period, while inter-author and inter-country collaboration networks remain underdeveloped. Keyword co-occurrence analysis identifies bounded rationality as the conceptual core of the field, with visible thematic evolution from formal decision theory toward behavioral finance and artificial intelligence integration.Financial practitioners and policymakers should incorporate behavioral and cognitive constraints into decision-support frameworks, particularly in investment and risk management contexts. This paper contributes a systematic cartography of bounded rationality scholarship in financial management, identifying understudied themes and open directions for future research.

Abstract

This study examines the intellectual structure and evolution of research on the relationship between decisionmaking styles and organizational performance within the human resource management (HRM) domain, identifying thematic clusters, collaborative networks, and emerging research gaps. A systematic bibliometric analysis was conducted using publication data retrieved from Scopus and the Web of Science Core Collection, spanning the 1990s to the present. VOSviewer was employed to map co-authorship networks, country collaboration patterns, and keyword co-occurrence structures. The analysis reveals that authorship collaboration is clustered into two primary groups, with Hamzah Elrehail functioning as a key bridging node. The United States and the United Kingdom dominate the global collaboration network. Keyword co-occurrence analysis confirms that decision-making styles are closely linked to organizational performance, mediated by strategic, technological, and behavioral factors including artificial intelligence, knowledge management, and intellectual capital. Organizations are advised to adopt flexible, context-sensitive decision-making approaches that combine rational, intuitive, and adaptive styles rather than relying on a single mode, thereby enhancing long-term organizational performance. This study provides a comprehensive bibliometric mapping of two decades of research at the intersection of decision-making styles and organizational performance, identifying underexplored areas including cross-cultural and longitudinal studies, and offers a structured foundation for future empirical work in this domain.

Abstract

This study examines the intellectual trajectory and thematic evolution of Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) research in decision-making, with particular emphasis on financial management and risk management contexts, using a bibliometric approach.  Quantitative bibliometric analysis was conducted using 483 scientific articles retrieved from the Scopus database, processed through VOSviewer software to map publication trends, author and country collaboration networks, and evolving research themes through co-authorship and co-occurrence analyses. AHP remains a prevalent and methodologically versatile tool in multi-criteria decision-making, with dominant scholarly contributions from China, the United States, and India. Thematically, the literature clusters around risk assessment, multi-criteria decision making, and decision support systems, while emerging trends indicate increasing integration with fuzzy logic and Geographic Information System (GIS) technologies.  Practitioners and policymakers in financial management and risk-intensive sectors can draw on AHP-based frameworks to structure complex, multi-criteria evaluations more systematically. This study provides a comprehensive bibliometric mapping of AHP research in management and finance, revealing fragmentation in global collaboration networks and identifying underexplored intersections between AHP and emerging digital technologies as productive directions for future research.

Abstract

Ethics in decision-making has become a fundamental aspect of financial management, as decision-makers frequently navigate dilemmas between achieving financial objectives and upholding moral values such as transparency, fairness, and social responsibility. Originating from business ethics scholarship, this concept emphasizes that financial decisions should not rely solely on economic rationality but must also incorporate ethical principles to prevent conflicts of interest and misuse of authority. n practice, ethics influences fund allocation, financial reporting, risk management, and corporate governance. Violations of ethical principles may precipitate corporate scandals and significantly erode public trust in organizations. Over time, discourse on ethics in decision-making has evolved through the integration of behavioral perspectives, corporate governance frameworks, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) for detecting potential ethical biases. However, systematic studies that comprehensively map the intellectual development of this field remain relatively limited. Therefore, this study applies a bibliometric analysis approach to identify publication trends, research collaboration patterns, and emerging thematic clusters in ethics in decision-making scholarship, drawing on 400 peer-reviewed articles sourced from the Scopus database covering the 2000s to the present.

Abstract

This study examines the intellectual evolution, knowledge structure, and global research trends of data-driven decision-making (DDDM) as applied to financial management, providing a systematic mapping of the field from its origins through its contemporary frontiers. A quantitative bibliometric analysis was conducted using publication data retrieved from Scopus spanning from the 2000s to the present. The dataset was analyzed using VOSviewer software, applying co-authorship, co-occurrence, and citation mapping techniques. The results reveal a significant upward trajectory in publications over the study period, reflecting the growing salience of DDDM in academic discourse. Collaborative research networks are dense and predominantly anchored by the United States, though emerging economies are increasingly participating. Core thematic clusters center on big data, machine learning, and predictive analytics, while the most recent trends signal a convergence toward the Internet of Things and digital twin technologies. Critical concerns around data security, ethics, and regulatory compliance are identified as cross-cutting challenges.Financial managers and policymakers can leverage these findings to identify underexplored research niches and anticipate the next generation of analytical tools required for sustainable financial decision-making. This study offers the first comprehensive bibliometric mapping of DDDM specifically situated at the nexus of financial management and advanced analytics, extending prior reviews by incorporating temporal overlay analysis and identifying the IoT-digital twin frontier as the emerging research horizon.
