Abstract

This research analyzes the growth of research on financial management in the age of globalization using Scopus from the years 2000 to 2024. There is an evident growth in the number of publications in congressed performance data and the results show the years after 2017 are especially due to worldwide digital shocks and the increased emphasis on sustainable development. Using science-mapping techniques, the analysis identifies the major concepts of globalization and finance and the emerging subthemes of the green finance, risk management, innovation, and supply-chain finance, as well as the post-COVID transformations. The changes within the subfields and the governance and digital and environmental changes are illustrated in the co-occurrence and word cloud structures of documents. Data from co-citation clustering point to the primary knowledge base of the subfield to be institutional theory, network society and global production systems in the literature, and critical political economy. The sheer volume of the knowledge shows the interdisciplinary and expanding contour of research on the crossing of globalization and the management of finance. The study has resulted in a synthesized knowledge of the most notable contributions, and the more comprehensive thematic areas and untapped areas, which is beneficial to academia, to practice, and to governance, and finance on a global scale.

Abstract

This study conducts a bibliometric analysis of intrahousehold financial management research, drawing on 135 journal articles indexed in Scopus. Using VOSviewer, the analysis maps co-authorship networks, country collaborations, and keyword co-occurrence patterns to reveal the intellectual and social structure of the field. Results show a concentrated co-authorship network led by a small group of researchers, primarily from Japanese institutions, and a country collaboration pattern centered on the United States with strong links to Japan and several developing countries. Keyword analysis identifies gender as the central organizing concept, connected to four distinct thematic clusters focused on resource allocation, bargaining processes, decision-making and financial literacy, and broader social outcomes such as poverty and gender equality. These findings indicate that contemporary scholarship emphasizes gender disparities and bargaining power within households, particularly in developing contexts, while behavioral and psychological dimensions remain less integrated. The study highlights opportunities to broaden theoretical perspectives and geographic scope to achieve more comprehensive understandings of household financial practices.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of capital intensity on the financial stability of energy sector companies in Indonesia from 2019 to 2023, using cash ratio and debt-to-equity ratio as stability indicators, while controlling for firm size and profitability (ROA). Employing a Random Effects Model on panel data from 40 publicly listed energy firms, the analysis reveals that capital intensity does not significantly affect financial stability. In contrast, profitability significantly enhances liquidity and reduces leverage, while firm size influences only solvency. These findings suggest that profitability is a stronger determinant of financial stability than capital intensity, particularly in the context of external volatility such as commodity price fluctuations. The study provides insights for energy firms to prioritize profitability to bolster financial resilience and recommends further exploration of external factors influencing sector dynamics.

Abstract

This study examines how sustainable financial management practices (SFMP) influence firm value in environmentally responsible companies in Indonesia using a phenomenological qualitative approach. The research explores managers’ lived experiences in implementing green capital budgeting, green financing, and green investment, and how these practices shape long-term value creation. Data were gathered through in-depth semi-structured interviews with finance managers, sustainability officers, and key decision-makers, supported by document analysis and limited observations. The findings show that sustainability is embedded in financial decision-making, where investment evaluations consider environmental impact, regulatory compliance, and long-term ecological benefits. Green financing appears as both a structural challenge and a strategic facilitator. While strict ESG requirements demand extensive documentation and verification, they also provide lower capital costs and serve as external validation of sustainability commitments. The study further reveals that green investments are viewed as essential for reducing regulatory and environmental risks, enhancing corporate reputation, and attracting ESG-oriented investors. A cultural shift is evident within firms, characterized by cross-department collaboration, transparency, and a managerial mindset oriented toward sustainability in financial decisions. These changes reinforce governance structures and support institutionalization of sustainability across business functions.Overall, SFMP are perceived to enhance firm value by improving reputation, lowering long-term risks, strengthening investor confidence, and increasing organizational resilience in dynamic regulatory environments. The study concludes that sustainability-driven financial practices play a transformative role in shaping corporate strategy, governance, and market positioning.
