Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of the Quantum teaching-learning model on the learning outcomes of class VII students on the theme of the Universe. The type of this research is Quasy Experiment with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research population is all students of class VII SMPN 13 Serang city. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, which selected class VII G as the control class with Discovery learning and VII H as the experimental class with the Quantum teaching-learning model. Data was collected using a test technique in the form of pretest-posttest to measure cognitive learning outcomes and non-test in a questionnaire to measure affective learning outcomes and observation sheets to measure psychomotor learning outcomes. The collected data were analyzed using a t-test at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed an influence of the Quantum teaching-learning model on the learning outcomes of class VII students at SMPN 13 Serang city. In the control class, the average value of students' cognitive learning outcomes is 45 in the significantly less category, the percentage value of students' effective learning outcomes is 71% in the excellent category, and the percentage value of students' psychomotor learning outcomes is 56% in the less category. In experiment class, the average value of students' cognitive learning outcomes is 55 in the less category, the percentage value of students' effective learning outcomes is 79% in the excellent category, and the percentage value of students' psychomotor learning outcomes is 82% in the perfect category. Finally, the Quantum teaching-learning model influences the learning outcomes of class VII students.

Abstract

Natural disasters can negatively affect life because they cause damage. Therefore, students have to be equipped with knowledge regarding them. One way is to use a student worksheet based on a scientific approach to waves and disasters. This research aimed to measure the validity levels of the student worksheet based on the developed scientific approach. According to Thiagarajan, the research and development method with the 4D development model. However, the development stage was narrowed down by defining, designing, and developing. These steps were done because this research is limited by energy, time, and cost and focused on measuring product validity; as a result, the dissemination stage was not conducted. The instrument used in this research was validation sheets filled out by two expert lecturers and three science teachers. The research results showed that the validity level of the student worksheet based on a scientific approach oriented to critical thinking skills on wave and disaster themes obtained a percentage of 83.62%, with very valid criteria. As a result, the student worksheet based on the scientific approach of the wave and disaster theme can be tested in science learning to foster students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Infographic learning media is one of the intermediaries in the learning process made with graphic design, namely canvas. This media infographic is used to give Canva learning materials to students to achieve a learning goal. This study aims to develop learning media infographics and determine the level of validity. The media used is research and development or Research and Development adapted from the Borg and Gall development model, consisting of three stages, namely Research and Information Collecting, Planning, and Preliminary Form of Product. The research instruments used in this study were interview sheets and validation sheets. This study indicates that the level of validity of the infographic learning media on the theme of the green growth in training critical thinking skills of seventh-grade students obtained an average value of 78.94% with a valid category so that infographic learning media can be used in the learning process.

Abstract

The general physiology course prepares prospective junior high school science teachers to master the content and science process skills. Skills used to acquire or apply science concepts, laws, theories including mental, physical and social skills are called science process skill. Science process skill is the basis for making rational and correct decisions about controversial issues. Science learning, including at the Junior High School level, should ideally not only be memorized knowledge but also a research process using science process skills, so that students are able to gain science knowledge from new phenomena in nature. To improve the students’ science process skills, the learning sets used by lecturers should be implemented effectively, so it is necessary to analyze the needs of learning sets. The research aims to explain the need analysis in the development of mini research-based general physiology learning sets. The research method used is a qualitative study with the data analysis technique of the Miles Huberman Model. This research was conducted in January 2022 at the Science Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, Indonesia. Need analysis of learning sets includes needs in the aspects of students, concepts, assignments, and learning objectives. Needs analysis results are learning sets for general physiology based on mini-research suitable for improving the science process skills of prospective science teachers. Comprehensive and truly needs analysis can apply to the next stage of research and development. It can be concluded that the development of mini research-based general physiology learning sets should be conducted according to the findings of need analysis.
