Abstract

This research aims to reveal the inconsistencies of machine translation from the perspective of students who use web-based Google Translate in their Arabic thesis. This research has an impact on translation machine users from Arabic teachers and researchers to be more careful in using Google Translate when translating from Bahasa to Arabic, especially in inconsistent aspects. The researcher used a mixed method with an Explanatory Sequential Design‎ because after distributing questionnaires in collecting quantitative data to collect patterns of inconsistencies that occurred, it was important to explain the initial findings from the quantitative data qualitatively through interviews. ‎Quantitative data is analyzed using simple percentage statistics, then qualitative data is analyzed through four steps, namely data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results of this research found that inconsistencies in web-based Google Translate translation results were found in four patterns. First, Google Translate is very inconsistent in translating terms that have the same meaning (mutarodifat), but the terms that appear in the translation results are often different, even within the same paragraph. Second, inconsistencies very often also occur in the aspects of mufrad, mutsanna and jamak, the Google translation machine cannot differentiate between the singularity and plurality aspects of the object being translated, so translation errors often occur where a singular word that should be translated as mufrad will instead become plural or on the contrary. Third, the translation machine does not recognize the gender of the subject in the translated sentence, so translation inconsistencies in the mudzakkar and mu'annats aspects occur very often. Inconsistencies in the gender aspect, as well as the mufrad, mutsanna, and jamak aspects, have an impact on the fourth error pattern, namely grammatical inconsistencies, namely errors in using the verb (fi'il) in a sentence. Of the four patterns of inconsistency, the term inconsistency is a new thing that has not been revealed much. The grammatical aspect is closely related to aspects of the singular or plural form as well as the masculine or feminine form which is the subject of the translated sentence and needs to be discussed further by other researchers.

Abstract

Abstract The term language society emerged and was developed from the term issued by Fishman (1976) about speech community. In relation to the term language society, this study aims to determine the choice of language among the Arabic language society at Imam Bonjol State Islamic University, Padang, and their attitudes towards their environmental language (Arabic), regional language ​​(Minang), national language ​​(Bahasa). This research is a descriptive study that describes the choice of language by a language society. The results of the study show that: Firstly, the students or the Arabic language society at Imam Bonjol State Islamic University Padang sometimes use Arabic and Minang language in class, but frequently use Bahasa in class. Secondly, the students or the Arabic language society very rarely use Arabic outside the classroom, often using Minang and Bahasa outside the classroom. Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peningkatan penguasaan kosakata bahasa Arab melalui penerapan metode drill yang didukung oleh media kartu bergambar pada siswa kelas VII di MTs Al-Ishlah Sukadam, Natar, Lampung Selatan. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan model Kemmis dan McTaggart, yang terdiri dari dua siklus. Setiap siklus mencakup empat tahapan utama, yaitu: (1) perencanaan, (2) pelaksanaan, (3) observasi, dan (4) refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini melibatkan 23 siswa kelas VII. Data dikumpulkan melalui berbagai metode, termasuk tes, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode drill berbantuan media kartu bergambar berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan penguasaan kosakata bahasa Arab. Hal ini dibuktikan melalui peningkatan nilai rata-rata siswa dari tahap pra-siklus hingga siklus II. Pada tahap pra-siklus, nilai rata-rata siswa sebesar 59, dengan tingkat ketuntasan 26% (6 siswa) dan 74% (17 siswa) belum tuntas. Setelah pelaksanaan siklus I, nilai rata-rata meningkat menjadi 70, dengan 65% siswa (15 orang) mencapai ketuntasan, sementara 35% (8 siswa) masih belum tuntas. Pada siklus II, terjadi peningkatan lebih lanjut dengan rata-rata nilai mencapai 80, serta tingkat ketuntasan meningkat menjadi 86% (20 siswa), sedangkan 14% (3 siswa) masih belum mencapai ketuntasan. Berdasarkan temuan ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode drill berbantuan media kartu bergambar efektif dalam meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata bahasa Arab pada siswa kelas VII di MTs Al-Ishlah Sukadamai, Natar, Lampung Selatan.

Abstract

ملخص البحث: هدف هذا البحث إلى توظيف وسيلة غطاء زجاجة الصندوق السحري (Magic Box Bottle Cap) في تعليم المفردات العربية لدى طلاب الصف السابع "أ" في مدرسة الإخلاص المتوسطة الإسلامية بمنطقة تانجونج بينتانج، و تقييم مدى فاعلية هذه الوسيلة لترقية استيعاب المفردات . يندرج هذا البحث ضمن منهج البحث الإجرائي الصفي، وقد شمل طلاب الصف السابع "أ" في مدرسة الإخلاص المتوسطة الإسلامية بمنطقة تانجونج بينتانج كعينة للدراسة، بتوظيف أدوات تشمل الاختبار القبلي والاختبار البعدي. أما تقنيات جمع البيانات فقد تمثلت في الملاحظة، والمقابلة، والتوثيق، مع اعتماد نوعي البيانات الكمية والنوعية معًا. أظهرت نتائج البحث: 1) بعد توظيف وسيلة غطاء زجاجة الصندوق السحري توزّع على ثلاث فئات: الفئة المتوسطة شملت 7 طلاب (بنسبة 28٪)، والفئة العالية ضمّت 15 طالبًا (60٪)، بينما كان هناك 3 طلاب (12٪) في الفئة العالية جدًا. 2) شهدت نتائج الطلاب تحسنًا مستمرًا عبر دورتين تدريبيتين، حيث ارتفعت نسبة إتقان المفردات في اللغة العربية تدريجيًا، ويُعزى هذا التحسن إلى توظيف هذه الوسيلة. أما نسب الإتقان فقد بلغت 63٪ في المرحلة التمهيدية، ثم ارتفعت إلى 65٪ في الدورة الأولى، وصولًا إلى 82٪ في الدورة الثانية، مما يدل على تحسن ملحوظ في نتائج التعلم. الكلمات الأساسية : غطاء زجاجة الصندوق السحري ، استيعاب المفردات، وسيلة التعليم. Abstract: This research aimed to employ the Magic Box Bottle Cap media in teaching students Arabic vocabulary of Grade 7A at Al-Ikhlas Islamic Middle School in Tanjung Bintang, as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of this media in teaching the Arabic Vocabulary. This research falls within the classroom action research methodology, and included students of this school as a sample for the study, using tools including a pre-test and post-test. The data collection techniques were observation, interview, and documentation, with the adoption of both quantitative and qualitative data. The results of the research showed that students' performance was distributed into three categories: The medium category included 7 students (28%), the high category included 15 students (60%), and there were 3 students (12%) in the very high category. The students' results showed a continuous improvement over two training sessions, as the percentage of vocabulary mastery in Arabic gradually increased, and this improvement was attributed to the use of this method. Mastery rates reached 63% in the introductory phase, then increased to 65% in the first course, and reached 82% in the second course, indicating a significant improvement in learning outcomes. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan media Tutup Botol Kotak Ajaib dalam pengajaran kosakata Arab bagi siswa kelas 7A di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Ikhlas di Tanjung Bintang, serta mengevaluasi efektivitas media tersebut dalam pengajaran kosakata Arab. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi penelitian tindakan kelas, dengan sampel siswa sekolah tersebut, dan menggunakan alat ukur berupa pre-test dan post-test. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, dengan penggunaan data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prestasi siswa terbagi menjadi tiga kategori: Kategori sedang mencakup 7 siswa (28%), kategori tinggi mencakup 15 siswa (60%), dan 3 siswa (12%) berada di kategori sangat tinggi. Hasil siswa menunjukkan peningkatan berkelanjutan selama dua siklus pelatihan, karena persentase penguasaan kosakata dalam bahasa Arab secara bertahap meningkat, dan peningkatan ini dikaitkan dengan penggunaan metode ini. Tingkat penguasaan mencapai 63% pada fase pengenalan, kemudian meningkat menjadi 65% pada kursus pertama, dan mencapai 82% pada kursus kedua, menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam hasil belajar.
