Abstract

Ownership structure and interest rates are important factors affecting a bank's performance. Previous studies have found the effect of ownership structure and interest rates on company performance, but no one has specifically examined differences in Banking performance in ownership structure and interest rates. This study aims to compare the performance of Islamic and conventional banking in ownership structure and interest rates. In study, the author used quantitative methods that emphasize the analysis of numerical data processed using Stata 16. Based on the unstructured data panel, there are 13 Islamic banking and 107 conventional banking, the total banks used as objects are 120 banks with 1110 observations.  The results are local ownership did not affect the performance of Islamic banks, compared to conventional banking on the contrary. Foreign ownership in Islamic banking affects Banking performance, while conventional banking has no effect. Furthermore, government ownership affects the performance of Islamic banks, but does not affect the performance of conventional banking. Based on the results of the study, it can be proven that government and foreign interference in the ownership of Islamic banking plays a role in improving the bank's performance. Whereas conventional banking has performed well under local ownership.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of profitability as proxied by ROE (Return on Equity), and Liquidity as proxied by CR (Current Ratio) and Leverage which is proxied by DER (Debt to Equity Ratio) on Bond Yield (Yield to Maturity) with Rating Bonds as an intervening variable in companies listed on the IDX (Indonesia Stock Exchange) for the 2016-2018 period. The type of research is quantitative research, with secondary data obtained from www.ibpa.co.id, www.pefindo.com, www.idx.go.id. The total sample is 10 companies that issued 61 Islamic bonds in the 2016-2018 period. The data analysis technique used is the path analysis test and data processing using SPSS 22 for windows. Research results Profitability has no effect on bond ratings, while Liquidity and Leverage have an effect on bond ratings. On profitability, liquidity and leverage affect the yield of Islamic bonds. In its mediation, the bond rating does not mediate between profitability and bond yield. Meanwhile, Liquidity and Leverage on Yeild bonds mediate through bond rating.

Abstract

The significant impact of stunting in early childhood affects both physical growth and cognitive development. The prevalence of stunting in Jungkat Village highlights the importance of monitoring growth and development during mid-childhood (ages 6-12), as it is a critical period for cognitive, social, and physical development. The study aims to provide insights into the effectiveness of interventions in addressing stunting by describing the body size and nutritional status of children aged 6-12 in Jungkat Village. A cross-sectional method was employed in four primary schools in Jongkat District. Anthropometric measurements of body height and body weight were used to calculate nutritional status indices, including the body height-to-age index and body mass index. In Jungkat Village, children aged 6-12 show varied growth patterns, including high rates of stunting and obesity, with some stunted children maintaining normal BMI for age, indicating complex interactions between nutrition and growth. In addition, there is no significant sexual dimorphism in growth patterns at this age, but differences in weight are evident, with boys generally heavier after age 7. Environmental, socioeconomic, and behavioral factors may significantly influence these patterns, underscoring the need for integrated health and nutrition interventions that target maternal and early childhood support.

Abstract

Abstract

Environmentally friendly synthesis of barium titanate (BaTiO3) nanoparticles was conducted using natural leaf extracts of Moringa oleifera, Musa spp., Pometia pinnata, and Terminalia catappa as green dopants via the sol-gel method. This study aims to evaluate the influence of different leaf extracts on the optical properties of BaTiO3 characterized by UV-Vis spectroscopy. Each sample exhibited distinct absorption spectra, reflecting variations in phytochemical composition among the extracts. The results showed that Terminalia catappa and Pometia pinnata extracts produced the highest band gap values, 3.36 eV and 3.35 eV respectively, indicating optical activity in the ultraviolet region. Musa spp. extract resulted in a band gap of 2.81 eV, while Moringa oleifera extract yielded the lowest value of 2.59 eV. These differences suggest that the type of plant extract significantly affects the optical characteristics of the synthesized BaTiO3. This research highlights the potential use of local biomass in the development of functional BaTiO3-based materials through green synthesis approaches.

Abstract

Prolonged diabetes mellitus (DM) can lead to microvascular and macrovascular complications. The increased risk of complications is closely associated with uncontrolled blood glucose levels, which can be assessed using the HbA1c parameter. The elevated risk of vascular complications arises due to a prothrombotic state, partly caused by increased platelet activity. Platelet activity can be evaluated through platelet indices, namely Mean Platelet Volume (MPV), Platelet Distribution Widht (PDW), Platelet Large Cell Ratio (P-LCR) and Plateletcrit (PCT). This study aims to analyze the relationship between HbA1c levels and platelet indices (MPV, PDW, P-LCR, PCT) in Type 2 DM patients. The type of research used is an analytical survey with a correlation study approach using secondary data from 107 samples of Type 2 DM patients with inclusion criteria: type 2 DM patients with HbA1c levels ≥ 6.5% and exclusion criteria: patients have not received blood transfusions in the last 3 months, DHF and Anemia taken at Bandung Kiwari Hospital, selected using a purposive sampling technique with a sample size calculated using the Lemeshow formula. HbA1c levels were measured using the HPLC ion-exchange method. While the platelet index was calculated using an automatic hematology device. Statistical analysis was performed using the Spearman correlation test. The results showed a weak positive correlation between HbA1c levels and PCT (correlation coefficient r = 0.197 and p = 0.042), while no significant relationship was found between HbA1c levels and MPV, PDW and P-LCR with (MPV: r = -0.041, p = 0.67; PDW: r = 0.039, p = 0.69; P-LCR: r = -0.009, p = 0.93).
