Abstract

The Deli river is the Pioritas I River Basin in North Sumatra, the level of community activity in the Deli river border is high such as settlements, offices, schools and industries, the community has the potential to produce a lot of solid waste in the estuary to the river body so as to make the river polluted, parameters pollution is heavy metal. The purpose of this study is to analyze the Pb content in the Deli River using the AAS tool, from the analysis of the deli river pollution level, the Lead Analysis Result (Pb) obtained from upstream to downstream is an average value of 0.003 ppm, this means that lead pollution (Pb) in the river Deli is still relatively low or has not been polluted by lead heavy metals (Pb) because according to Government Regulation No. 82 of 2001 concerning Water Quality Management and quality pollution control of 0.03 ppm standard water.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mengetahui sebaran spasial mahoni daun lebar di hutan tanaman Cikabayan. Teknik sebaran spasial dimana hal ini berfungsi untuk mengambil data secara spasial dalam ekologi.Pengamatan ini dilakukan dengan membuat plot secara acak dan membuat petak kuadrat 20 x 20 m sebanyak empat plot. Data yangakan diambil dan dianalisisyaitu data jumlah individu mahoni dari tingkat tiang dan pohon. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah indeks disperse dan metode sebaran binomial positif.Berdasarkan pengamantan yang dilakukan mahoni menyebar secara mengelompok dengan menggunakan beberapa indeks seperti indeks binomial positif dan indeks morisita.

Abstract

Keanekaragaman hayati dapat diukur melalui tiga parameter yaitu kekayaan jenis, keanekaragaman jenis dan kemerataan.Untuk mengetahui tingkat sensitivitas tersebut maka dilakukan simulasi perhitungan kekayaan jenis, keanekaragaman dan kemerataan dengan megaplikasikan berbagai metode yang ada untuk megukur keanekaragaman jenis.Pengambilan data untuk perhitungan seluruh indeks dilakukan dengan membuat plot tunggal sedangkan untuk penduga jackknife dan rarefraction dilakukan pembuatan empat plot kuadrat berukuran 20x20 m yang ditempatkan secara acak. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam menentukan ukuran adalah dengan kurva species area.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Non Faktorial. Faktor yang digunakanadalah PK0 100% Tanah + 0% pupuk kandang (ayam dan kambing), PK1 50% Tanah + 50% (25% + 25%) pupuk kandang (ayam dan kambing), dan PK2 25% Tanah + 75% (37,5% + 37,5%) pupuk kandang (ayam dan kambing). Dengan metode tersebut dapat diperoleh 8 ulangan dengan 3 perlakuan, maka diperoleh 24 petakan dengan perpetak ukuran 1x1 meter dan jarak tanam 15 cm/pokokmaka diperoleh perpetak 36 tanaman perpetak dengan pengambilan sampel 15% maka di peroleh 6 tanaman sample untuk pengamatan, maka total sample untuk pengamatan yaitu 144 tanaman dan total keseluruhan tanaman adalah 864 tanaman. Data dianalisis menggunakan sidik ragam (Analisis of variance) dengan uji lanjut Beda Nyata Terkecil (Uji BNT). Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian pupuk kandang (ayam dan kambing) berpengaruh pada pertumbuhan tanaman Mucuna bracteata pada minggu ke 6 sampai ke 8, dan jumlah daun pada tanaman Mucuna bracteata pada MST ke 8 serta berat kering, pada perlakuan PK1 50% Tanah + 50% pupuk kandang (25% pupuk kandang ayam + 25% pupuk kandang kambing). Tetapi untuk panjang akar nilai yang tertingi pada PK0 100% tanah + 0% pupuk kandang (ayam dan kambing) karena tanaman melakukan mekanisme memperpanjang akar untuk mencari unsur hara untuk mencukupi kebutuhannya selama 8 MST, dan pada berat basah tanaman akar nilai yang tertingi pada PK0 100% tanah + 0% pupuk kandang (ayam dan kambing) sebagai akibat dari pertambahan panjang akar tanaman tersebut.

Abstract

Peranan serangga sebagai hama menyebabkan kerugian bagi tanaman budidaya dan manusia. Terutama Setothosea asigna sebagai ulat pemakan daun tanaman kelapa sawit, sehingga pengendalian hama ini penting dilakukan, namun pedoman pengendalian yang selama ini di gunakan hanya berlandaskan pada jumlah larva di batas ambang ekonomi tanpa memperhatikan tipe instar larva Setothosea asigna yang menyerang tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui preferensi pakan stadia larva Setothosea asigna terhadap daun tanaman kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.). Penelitian dilakukan di lahan percobaan Emplasmen PTPN IV unit laras. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu experimental design dan teknik observasi untuk pengambilan objek penelitian. Perlakuan dalam penelitian adalah memberikan pakan daun tanaman kelapa sawit dengan 2 waktu yaitu pukul 07:00 WIB dan pukul 19:00 WIB. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan tingkat konsumsi paling tinggi di pagi hari dan malam hari terdapat pada instar 7 larva S. asigna, dan hasil analisis regresi linear sederhana menunjukkan bahwa, tipe instar berbanding lurus dan berpengaruh secara langsung (positif) terhadap jumlah pakan. Preferensi pakan stadia larva Setothosea asigna terhadap daun tanaman kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) lebih aktif pada malam hari serta tingkat konsumsi pakan yang paling tinggi baik pagi ataupun malam hari terdapat pada instar 7 dan hubungan antara instar stadia larva Setothosea asigna terhadap jumlah pakan daun tanaman kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) baik pada pagi hari ataupun malam hari yaitu berbanding lurus dan berpengaruh secara langsung.

Abstract

Daily activities are all activities carried out by animals daily starting from the morning out of the nest until late in the evening and back again to the nest. This study aims to determine the activity pattern of sambar deer (Rusa unicolor). This observation was carried out at the Ragunan zoo which was carried out in 3 stages, namely morning, afternoon and evening. This study observed the patterns of time use and space use observed in sambar deer with 5 age class categories, namely adult males, adult females, young males and young females. The results of the research obtained from the activity of the sambar deer in the morning, namely the allocation of time for daily activities in the morning for each different age class, the allocation of time for feeding, moving, and resting activities during the daytime period for each individual age class of the deer is different and the time allocation for daily activities in the afternoon for each age class is different. Most of the sambar deer in Ragunan prefer to be in the grass below the stands for their activities. Time allocation (time budget) for sambar deer in age class and sex is influenced by the time of activity (morning-afternoon-evening).

This research aims to determined the effect of application and dosage levels Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) on the growth of Mucuna bracteata seedlings.This research was carried out in Jl. Agenda, Sei Putih Barat Subdstrict, Medan District from March to May 2020 using experimental method with non-factorial Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications and seven levels of POME treatment: (L0) Control/do not use POME, (L1) 25 ml/l solution, (L2) 50 ml/l solution, (L3) 75 ml/l solution, (L4) 100 ml/l solution, (L5) 125 ml/l solution, (L6) 150 ml/l solution. The research data were analyzed using analysis of variance and a further test Tuckey using software SAS version 9.1.3 at 5% level. The result of research indicates that application POME on the growth of Mucuna bracteata seedlings significantly effect on canopy fresh trendiland shoot dry weight. While on the root fresh weight, root dry weight, root shoot ratio, number of root nodules, and life percentage not significantly effect. The conclusion of this research is application POME (L6) 150 ml/l solution is the treatment that give the highest on shoot fresh weight 9,69 g, shoot dry weight 1,88 g, and number of  root nodules 20,58.

Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).In an effort to implement zero waste management in oil palm plantations, bunch ash which is a waste product from palm oil mills can be used as fertilizer for oil palm plants. This study aims to determine the growth of oil palm seedlings after being given different doses of dung from chicken and bunch ash fertilizer. This study used an experimental method with a factorial randomized block design (RBD). The first factor is chicken manure which consists of 4 levels, namely: Control (P0), 70 gr (P1), 140 gr (P2), 210 gr (P3) and the second factor is oil palm basket ash fertilizer which consists of 4 levels namely: Control (A0), 13 gr (A1), 26 gr (A2), 39 gr (A3). The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance (Analysis of Variance) with a significant 5%. If it has a significant effect, continue with the Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Based on the results of the data analysis, it was found that the treatment of chicken manure did not have a significant effect on plant growth (shoot wet weight, shoot dry weight, root wet weight, root dry weight and root length), and the interaction did not significantly affect the growth of oil palm seedlings in pre nursery. Although some of the parameters tested did not show any statistical effect, the physical growth of oil palm seedlings produced seeds that still met the seed growth standards in the pre-nursery.

Abstract

Introduction: This study aims to determine the growth response of Mucuna bracteata cuttings to the concentration and duration of soaking shallot extract. Materials and Methods: This study used a factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two factors, namely: shallot extract concentration (P) consists of 4 levels, include P0= untreated, P1= 10 ml, P2= 20 ml, P3= 30 ml, meanwhile the soaking time (Q) consists of 4 levels, such as Q0= momentarily dipping, Q1= 15 minutes, Q2= 30 minutes, Q3= 45 minutes. The data was processed by ANOVA and if significant, then further tested with Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the rate of 5%. Results: The concentration of shallot extract, soaking time and their interaction had a very significant effect on the survival percentage of Mucuna bracteata D.C. cuttings. The highest survival percentage of cuttings of Mucuna bracteata on the effect of shallot extract concentration and soaking time was obtained in the P0Q0, P0Q1, and P3Q2 treatments after the lid was opened at 4 weeks after planting. In the number of leaves also had significant effect in the interaction of two factors
