Abstract

Waste management is one of the crucial issues in sustainable development in Indonesia. Sustainable development in Indonesia, especially at the sub-districts that have limited resources and infrastructure. This study examines the implementation of government communication by the Environment Office in the waste management policy in Dumai Timur Sub-district, Dumai City. Dumai Timur, Dumai City. Through a qualitative approach with case study analysis, this research highlights how government communication strategies play a role in the effectiveness of waste management policy implementation. The results show that effective communication between the government, community, and other stakeholders determines the success of waste management. However, there are various challenges such as limited facilities, low community participation, and coordination barriers between institutions. Strategic recommendations were developed to strengthen government communication, improve resource capacity, and encourage active community participation in waste management. This study makes an important contribution to the development of more responsive and participatory environmental policies at the local level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of cigarette advertising on adolescents' attitudes toward cigarette purchasing decisions and the role of the media in supporting the cigarette industry. Cigarettes have become a serious issue in global health due to their addictive substances that have a detrimental impact on health. Cigarette advertising, particularly through television and social media, is considered to greatly influence adolescents' perceptions of cigarettes as symbols of “coolness” and masculinity. This study employs a qualitative approach through Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and online media observation. The research findings indicate that most adolescents are unaware of the connection between advertising and their decision to purchase cigarettes; however, advertising still exerts an indirect influence on the formation of adolescents' opinions and attitudes. The study also found that weak government regulations and the widespread presence of cigarette advertisements exacerbate this situation. Therefore, strict oversight of advertisements and cigarette distribution, particularly those targeting teenagers, is crucial in efforts to control cigarette consumption in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of interactive marketing communication through live commerce in fostering consumer loyalty in Indonesia, with a specific focus on the Shopee Live platform. Despite the growing popularity of live commerce, limited interaction and a predominantly transactional approach in live broadcasts remain major obstacles to establishing long-term relationships between brands and consumers. Based on a comprehensive literature review, interactivity in live commerce has been shown to enhance consumer engagement and trust, which in turn influences emotional loyalty. However, most previous studies have primarily concentrated on transactional aspects, overlooking the significance of personal relationships in cultivating sustainable consumer loyalty. This research employs a qualitative approach through a systematic literature review to examine the phenomenon of interactivity on Shopee Live and its impact on consumer loyalty in the Indonesian context. The findings indicate that responsive and personalized interactive communication can reduce psychological distance between hosts and consumers, fostering emotional closeness that reinforces trust and consumer loyalty. This study fills a gap in the existing literature by emphasizing the critical role of emotional, social, and cultural dimensions in shaping consumer loyalty, particularly within the Indonesian market. The insights generated from this research offer practical implications for e-commerce businesses, especially Shopee, to leverage interactivity as a strategic marketing communication tool for building long-term relationships and brand loyalty.

Abstract

Riset ini mencari tahu apakah kepuasan pengguna DANA bisa mempengaruhi kualitas layanan prima bagi mahasiswa Politeknik Negeri Medan. Jasa keuangan digital saat ini menjadi semakin penting dalam kehidupan kita, terutama buat mahasiswa, jadi kualitas layanan dan kepuasan pengguna itu penting sekali dalam suatu layanan prima. Metode yang dipakai dalam riset ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan gambaran yang jelas, di mana data di dapatkan melalui kuesioner yang diberikan kepada mahasiswa Politeknik Negeri Medan  yang menggunakan aplikasi DANA. Hasil riset mengatakan bahwa ada pengaruh baik antara kepuasan pengguna dengan tanggapan mahasiswa tentang kualitas layanan, yang dijembatani oleh persepsi soal mutu layanan aplikasi tersebut. Hal ini memberikan petunjuk penting terhadap DANA sebagai jasa keuangan digital agar dapat membuat pengguna semakin puas melalui peningkatan mutu layanan secara terus menerus.

Abstract

Bullying is a serious problem in elementary schools that can affect the mental state and social relationships of students. This service program aims to apply good communication as a way to prevent bullying at Al Fazhira Integrated Islamic Elementary School, especially in the case of a student with special needs who feels excluded because he is a victim of bullying. The methods used include direct observation, discussion with teachers, identification of needs, and conducting interesting and interactive socialization for 5th grade students with the use of films, posters, and discussions. Five aspects of positive communication were introduced, namely openness, empathy, support, positive attitude and equality. The results of this activity showed that students became more aware of the impact of bullying, dared to report if there was an incident, and had a better sense of empathy. The teachers also responded favorably and were willing to incorporate this approach into their teaching and learning activities. It can be concluded that positive communication is effective in creating an inclusive and safe school environment through early detection, reducing power differentials, and empowering victims and witnesses of bullying.

Abstract

This study investigates the intersection between digital regulatory communication and youth participation in Indonesia’s evolving digital economy. As the nation approaches its demographic bonus era (2030–2040), young people have become key drivers of digital innovation, entrepreneurship, and creative economy growth. However, their potential remains constrained by a regulatory environment that is fragmented, reactive, and inadequately adaptive to the dynamic nature of digital transformation. Using a qualitative juridical-normative and conceptual approach, this research critically analyzes the alignment between existing legal frameworks—such as the Electronic Information and Transactions Law, the Youth Law, the Job Creation Law, and the Creative Economy Regulation—and the practical realities of youth-driven digital innovation. Findings reveal a persistent structural gap between regulatory intentions and implementation, marked by legal ambiguity, administrative rigidity, and limited youth participation in policymaking processes. These conditions weaken institutional trust and hinder the inclusiveness of Indonesia’s digital transformation agenda. The study identifies that the dominance of control-oriented regulation (rule-based approach) often restricts innovation freedom, while the absence of adaptive mechanisms—such as regulatory sandboxes and co-regulation frameworks—reduces opportunities for legal experimentation and creative growth among young innovators. This research contributes theoretically by integrating youth empowerment theory, digital governance theory, and socio-legal perspectives to conceptualize adaptive digital regulation as a facilitative rather than restrictive instrument. Practically, it proposes a participatory regulatory communication model emphasizing inclusivity, policy harmonization, and digital legal literacy as prerequisites for sustainable youth engagement. The study concludes that achieving Indonesia’s “Golden Vision 2045” requires a shift from security-oriented to empowerment-based regulation—where law functions not merely as control, but as a communicative, enabling, and transformative medium for youth-led digital innovation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji peran media sosial dalam membangun identitas organisasi BadanEksekutif Mahasiswa (BEM) di Politeknik Negeri Medan di era digital yang telah mengubah polakomunikasi organisasi. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, data diperoleh melalui wawancaramendalam dengan Menteri Dalam Negeri BEM yang memiliki pengalaman langsung dalam pengelolaanmedia sosial organisasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan BEM menerapkan strategi multi-platform meliputiInstagram sebagai tulang punggung komunikasi visual dan interaksi dua arah, TikTok untuk konten santaimengikuti tren, dan YouTube sebagai arsip digital konten edukatif. Strategi konten berfokus padapenyampaian informasi relevan, kepekaan terhadap isu sosial, dan penciptaan engagement melalui openingmenarik. Konsistensi identitas dijaga melalui perubahan tema bulanan yang membuat konten dinamisnamun tetap recognizable. Pengelolaan dilakukan tim terstruktur dengan pembagian tugas jelas antara timdesain dan kreatif. BEM terus berinovasi mengadopsi berbagai format konten sambil mempertahankan nilaiinti organisasi. Penelitian menyimpulkan media sosial bukan sekadar alat penyebaran informasi, melainkaninstrumen strategis membangun identitas kolektif, meningkatkan engagement mahasiswa, danmemposisikan BEM sebagai organisasi profesional, relevan, dan dekat dengan mahasiswa

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of internal communication strategies on employee engagement and to identify the most effective communication approaches in enhancing employee involvement. The research employed a literature review method by examining journal articles, conference proceedings, and academic books published between 2019 and 2025. Literature sources were obtained from Google Scholar, Scopus, ResearchGate, and DOAJ, and were selected based on topic relevance, full-text availability, and alignment with the research focus. Data were analyzed using content analysis through thematic categorization. The findings indicate that internal communication strategies have a significant impact on employee engagement across three dimensions: cognitive, emotional, and behavioral. Three strategies were found to be the most effective: (1) digital channel–based communication that improves information access and accelerates feedback, (2) leadership-based communication that strengthens trust and emotional support, and (3) participatory two-way communication that fosters a sense of belonging and psychological ownership. Engagement formation occurs through role clarity, reinforced trust, and increased participation. In conclusion, internal communication serves as an organizational strategy that enhances employee motivation, loyalty, and contribution. Organizations must design communication patterns that are transparent, interactive, and participatory to optimize engagement.

Abstract

Perkembangan media digital telah memperluas arus informasi dan menciptakan kondisi informationoverload yang memengaruhi kemampuan publik dalam menilai kredibilitas pesan. Situasi inisemakin diperburuk oleh meningkatnya penyebaran hoaks, misinformasi, dan disinformasi melaluimedia sosial, situs tidak terverifikasi, dan berbagai platform daring. Melimpahnya informasi yangtidak tersaring membuat publik semakin rentan terhadap manipulasi serta menurunkan tingkatkepercayaan terhadap institusi. Dalam kondisi tersebut, praktisi Public Relations (PR) dituntut untukmembangun trust architecture, yaitu kerangka strategis yang dirancang untuk menumbuhkan,menjaga, dan memulihkan kepercayaan publik.Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis elemen-elemen utama dalam trust architecture pada praktikPR digital serta meninjau strategi yang dapat digunakan organisasi untuk menjaga kredibilitas.Metode penelitian menggunakan studi literatur dengan menelaah jurnal, buku, dan laporan yangberkaitan dengan digital trust dan manajemen komunikasi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwakepercayaan publik dapat diperkuat melalui transparansi informasi, konsistensi pesan di seluruhkanal komunikasi, komunikasi berbasis bukti, serta keterlibatan digital yang autentik.Selain itu, kemampuan organisasi dalam merespons isu secara cepat, menjaga etika komunikasi, danmengelola reputasi secara berkelanjutan turut membangun fondasi kepercayaan yang stabil. Trustarchitecture menjadi elemen penting untuk meminimalkan penyebaran hoaks, mempertahankankredibilitas, dan membangun hubungan jangka panjang dengan publik di tengah lingkungan digitalyang sarat distorsi informasi. Oleh karena itu, strategi PR yang berfokus pada kepercayaan semakinmenjadi kebutuhan utama bagi organisasi di era digital saat ini.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh Customer Engagement di TikTok dan Electronic Word of Mouth (e-WOM) terhadap loyalitas pelanggan pada brand Momoyo. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode asosiatif, melibatkan 75 responden berusia 15–25 tahun yang mengisi kuesioner online. Hasil analisis regresi linier berganda menunjukkan bahwa Customer Engagement dan e-WOM berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap loyalitas pelanggan. Model penelitian menjelaskan 62,6% variasi loyalitas, dengan Customer Engagement sebagai faktor paling dominan. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa interaksi aktif dan e-WOM positif di TikTok berperan penting dalam meningkatkan loyalitas pelanggan terhadap Momoyo.
