Abstract

Introduction: Since COVID-19 2019 became a global pandemic, the blended learning method has gained popularity, including in nursing education. A valid and trustworthy questionnaire is required in Indonesia to measure blended learning satisfaction. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the psychometric properties of Indonesian BLSS, a validated tool from Taiwan, among nursing students. Methods: This study employed a cross-sectional design to assess the validity and reliability of BLSS. The sample included 231 first-year nursing students from a university in Indonesia. The splitting sample method was utilized for exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The BLSS was translated using forward and backward translation. Three experts validated the content, while EFA and CFA investigated the structural validity. Reliability was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha. Results: The content validity index (CVI) of BLSS was 0.975. The mean age of the respondents was 19.26 (0.05), with the majority being female (85.07%). In EFA, one factor was retained based on cumulative variance, a scree plot, and parallel analysis. The CFA also showed one factor as retained. The factor loading of each item was greater than 0.5 both in EFA and CFA. This instrument has an internal consistency of 0.955 according to Cronbach’s alpha. Conclusion: The Indonesian BLSS is good, based on CVI, EFA, CFA and internal consistency analysis, which were used to measure satisfaction with blended learning. By measuring satisfaction following blended learning using BLSS, we hope that the learning process can be regarded as satisfactory and improved among nursing students.

Kata Kunci: Awareness, Hipertensi, Tekanan Darah, IMT, Edukasi, Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ABSTRACT Hypertension as a disease that causes disability globally and nationally needs to be followed up with preventive and disease management efforts. Preventive and disease management are responses taken to strive for the global goal of reducing premature mortality caused by non-communicable diseases. Preventive and management efforts are carried out by providing education about awareness. Awareness includes all efforts made for disease management. Awareness can then have an impact on the ability to control the disease. This activity aims to provide an understanding of self-awareness as an effort to manage and prevent hypertension and hypertension screening. The provision of education is carried out through PkM activities, with counseling methods and practice exercises with target participants being residents of GKJ Kiaracondong Bandung. PkM activities are divided into 3 session and each session has a duration of 25 minutes. Session 1 Emotional awareness, session 2 Practice of relaxation techniques and gymnastics and session 3 Health Check in the form of measuring BMI, blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol. In the PkM activity, 88 participants attended, the majority of participants were > 50 years old, namely 68 (77.3%), had no history of disease as many as 45 (51.1%), had systolic blood pressure conditions in the pre-hypertension category 27 (30.7%), had diastolic blood pressure conditions in the normal category as many as 47 (53.4%), the majority had good cholesterol levels, namely 25 (50%), the majority had BMI in normal conditions, namely 45 (51.1%), and almost all participants (97.6%) answered 80% of the statements correctly related to knowledge about awareness and hypertension. Awareness education and breathing exercise practice proved to be easy to understand and apply for preventive efforts and management of high blood pressure. Continuing education programs targeting people with prediabetes and diabetes are essential interventions that can be implemented in further study to improve public health. Keywords: Community Service, Education, IMT, Blood Pressure, Hypertension, Awareness

However, the description of thirst as a complete dimension in patients with HF is needed to be examined. This study aims to describe thirst in hospitalized patients with HF. This was a descriptive cross-sectional study. A total of 85 patients with HF have completed questionnaires including demographics, disease-related factors, and thirst. Thirst was measure in thirst frequency (three items), thirst quality (seven items), thirst intensity (visual analog score 0-100 mm), and thirst distress (thirst distress scale in heart failure). Thirst was reported every day and almost every day (71.7%), lasting for several hours (32.9%) and the thirstiest time was the whole day (47.1%). Thirst quality was described in discomfort (37.6%) and adverse events (31.8). Thirst intensity was in the mid-level and thirst distress have a mean of 24.72. Abstract

Aims: Older adults are often accompanied by chronic disease which makes nursing care more complex. The experiences of students providing care to older adults can encourage them to gain a deeper understanding, find effective strategies when facing challenges, and realize their own needs as future nurses. This study aimed to determine the experiences of nursing students in carrying out geriatric nursing practice. Methods: This study employed a qualitative study using a narrative research design. The purposive sample consisted of twelve nursing students who had completed 2 weeks of geriatric nursing. The variables explored were experiences of nursing students during geriatric nursing practice. Data collection used in this study was a student’s reflective assignment. The analysis was conducted using a thematic analysis approach. Results: All respondents were willing to participate in the study. Five themes emerged, including family assistance during care, the patient's condition while undergoing treatment, students' feelings and competencies when caring for the elderly, changes in a better understanding of the elderly, and expected goals to be achieved by students. Conclusions: This study focuses on the implementation of care for elderly patients in the hospital, which promotes the need for students to improve their skills in providing nursing care.
