Abstract

The advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) has brought significant changes to higher education, including the process of completing final course assignments. This study aims to analyze the patterns of AI utilization by Mechanical Engineering Education students at Universitas Negeri Gorontalo in completing their final course assignments and to identify the emerging ethical challenges. Employing a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, data were collected through triangulation techniques, including interviews, observations, and analysis of students' assignment documents. The findings reveal that students utilize AI as a multifunctional tool to enhance academic efficiency. However, its use can trigger cognitive offloading, which poses the risk of diminishing students' critical thinking and creativity, particularly in engineering fields that require strong analytical skills. Moreover, the absence of clear institutional policies regarding the boundaries of AI usage compels students to establish their own ethical standards, often influenced by academic pressure and workload. These findings highlight the importance of developing ethical guidelines for AI use and strengthening digital literacy within the campus environment. It is recommended that higher education institutions design curricula that foster critical and ethical understanding of technology, as well as encourage academic tasks based on analysis and originality. In this way, AI can serve as a strategic partner in responsibly supporting the development of students' competencies. The study emphasizes the need for critical and ethical AI literacy within the curriculum to ensure responsible use of technology without compromising students' integrity and core competencies. ABSTRAKPerkembangan kecerdasan buatan (AI) telah membawa perubahan signifikan dalam dunia pendidikan tinggi, termasuk dalam proses penyelesaian tugas akhir matakuliah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mennganalisis pola pemanfaatan AI oleh mahasiswa Pendidikan Teknik Mesin Universitas Negeri Gorontalo dalam penyelesaian tugas akhir mata kuliah, serta mengidentifikasi tantangan etika yang muncul. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi, data dikumpulkan melalui Teknik triangulasi yang mencakup wawancara, observasi, dan analisis dokumen tugas mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan  mahasiswa memanfaatkan AI sebagai alat bantu multifungsi untuk meningkatkan efisiensi kerja akademik. Namun, pemanfaatannya menjadikan pemicu cognitive offloading berisiko menurunkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreativitas mahasiswa, khususnya dalam bidang teknik yang menuntut kemampuan analitis tinggi. Selain itu, belum adanya kebijakan institusional yang jelas mengenai batasan penggunaan AI mendorong mahasiswa untuk menetapkan standar etika secara pribadi, yang kerap kali dipengaruhi oleh tekanan akademik dan beban tugas. Temuan ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya penyusunan kebijakan etis penggunaan AI serta penguatan literasi digital di lingkungan kampus. Disarankan agar institusi pendidikan tinggi merancang kurikulum yang menanamkan pemahaman kritis dan etis tentang teknologi, serta mendorong tugas akademik yang berbasis analisis dan orisinalitas. Dengan demikian, AI dapat berperan sebagai mitra strategis dalam mendukung pengembangan kompetensi mahasiswa secara bertanggung jawab. Rekomendasi ditekankan pada pengembangan literasi AI yang kritis dan etis dalam kurikulum untuk memastikan teknologi dimanfaatkan secara bertanggung jawab tanpa mengorbankan integritas dan kompetensi inti mahasiswa.

Abstract

Environmental issues and sustainable education motivated this research. This study aims to determine the relationship between green skill knowledge and attitudes among students in the Industrial Engineering department. A correlational research design was employed to examine the relationship between variables. The study population consisted of 368 Industrial Engineering students, comprising 143 students from the Mechanical Engineering Education program and 225 students from the Industrial Engineering program. The sample size was determined using the Taro Yamane formula, and simple random sampling was utilized as the sampling technique. Data analysis involved normality testing using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and linearity assessment using the Spearman Rank Test. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test yielded a significance value (sig.) of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating that the data were not normally distributed. Consequently, nonparametric statistical analysis, specifically Spearman's rank-order correlation (Spearman's rho), was applied. The Spearman's rho analysis resulted in a significance value (sig.) of 0.048 (p < 0.05). This finding indicates a statistically significant relationship between the knowledge variable and the attitude variable. ABSTRAKIsu lingkungan serta pendidikan yang berkelanjutan menjadi alasan peneliti dalam melaksanakan penelitian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pengetahuan dan sikap green skill mahasiswa jurusan teknik industri. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian korelasi, yang berfungsi untuk melihat hubungan antar variabel. Adapun populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu mahasiswa jurusan teknik industri sejumlah 368 mahasiswa yang terdiri dari 143 mahasiswa prodi Pendidikan Teknik Mesin dan 225 mahasiswa prodi Teknik Industri. Penentuan banyak sampel menggunakan formula Taro Yamane. Teknik sampling yang digunakan yaitu simple random sampling. Analisis data terdiri dari uji normalitas dengan teknik kolmogorov smirnov dan uji linearitas menggunakan Uji Spearman Rank. Berdasarkan hasil analisis uji normalitas, diperoleh nilai sig. Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test sebesar 0.000 < 0.05, sehingga dapat disimpulkan data tidak berdistribusi normal. Oleh karena itu, analisis menggunakan statistik nonparametrik, dalam hal ini menggunakan spearman rank. Berdasarkan hasil analisis Spearman Rank, diperoleh nilai sig.  Spearman's rho sebesar 0.048 < 0.05, sehingga dapat disimpulkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara variabel pengetahuan dan variabel sikap.

Abstract

Intrinsic motivation is an important factor that encourages students to learn and develop independently, without relying on external factors. In the context of vocational education, especially at the Vocational High School (SMK) level, intrinsic motivation greatly determines the readiness and commitment of students as prospective professional teachers. One factor that is believed to play a role in shaping this motivation is the role of academic supervisors. This study aims to analyze the influence of the role of academic supervisors on the intrinsic motivation of prospective teacher students in the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program, Gorontalo State University (UNG). The approach used is quantitative with a survey method. The population in this study were all students in semesters 2, 4, and 6, with samples determined through purposive sampling techniques. The research instrument was a questionnaire compiled based on indicators of the role of academic supervisors and indicators of intrinsic motivation. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques and simple linear regression tests. The results of the statistical analysis showed that both the role of academic supervisors (mean = 3.95) and students' intrinsic motivation (mean = 4.09) were in the high category. The results of the regression test showed a positive and significant influence between the role of academic supervisors on students' intrinsic motivation with an R² value of 0.530, and a significance value of academic guidance = 0.000 or <0.05, meaning that academic guidance has a significant effect on increasing students' intrinsic motivation. This finding confirms that academic guidance plays a strategic role in shaping the psychological readiness and professional orientation of prospective vocational teacher students. Therefore, increasing the capacity of lecturers in terms of strengthening self-efficacy and developing a reflective guidance approach is an important step that is recommended. ABSTRAK Motivasi intrinsik merupakan faktor penting yang mendorong mahasiswa untuk belajar dan berkembang secara mandiri, tanpa ketergantungan pada faktor eksternal. Dalam konteks pendidikan vokasi, khususnya pada jenjang Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK), motivasi intrinsik sangat menentukan kesiapan dan komitmen mahasiswa sebagai calon guru profesional. Salah satu faktor yang diyakini berperan dalam membentuk motivasi ini adalah peran dosen pembimbing akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh peran dosen pembimbing akademik terhadap motivasi intrinsik mahasiswa calon guru di Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Mesin, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo (UNG). Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa semester 2, 4, dan 6, dengan sampel yang ditentukan melalui teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner yang disusun berdasarkan indikator-indikator dari peran dosen pembimbing akademik dan indikator-indikator motivasi intrinsik. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik statistik deskriptif dan uji regresi linear sederhana. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa baik peran dosen pembimbing akademik (rerata = 3,95) maupun motivasi intrinsik mahasiswa (rerata = 4,09) berada pada kategori tinggi. Hasil uji regresi menunjukkan adanya pengaruh positif dan signifikan antara peran dosen pembimbing akademik terhadap motivasi intrinsik mahasiswa dengan nilai R² = 0,530, dan nilai signifikasi pembimbingan akademik = 0,000 atau < 0,05 artinya pembimbingan akademik berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap peningkatan motivasi intrinsik mahasiswa. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa pembimbingan akademik memainkan peran strategis dalam membentuk kesiapan psikologis dan orientasi profesional mahasiswa calon guru vokasi. Oleh karena itu, peningkatan kapasitas dosen dalam aspek penguatan self-efficacy dan pengembangan pendekatan pembimbingan yang reflektif menjadi langkah penting yang direkomendasikan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran animasi pada materi sistem pengisian baterai dalam mata kuliah teknik kelistrikan otomotif guna meningkatkan efektivitas dan pemahaman peserta didik di Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Mesin Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. Masalah yang diidentifikasi dalam pembelajaran konvensional mencakup keterbatasan modul dan video daring yang kurang interaktif serta ketergantungan pada koneksi internet. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Hasil validasi oleh ahli desain, ahli media, dan ahli materi menunjukkan bahwa media animasi yang dikembangkan sangat layak digunakan, dengan persentase kelayakan di atas 90%. Uji kepraktisan dan kemenarikan oleh mahasiswa menunjukkan hasil sangat praktis (92,58%) dan sangat menarik (91,42%). Hasil ini membuktikan bahwa media pembelajaran animasi dapat menjadi solusi inovatif dalam menjelaskan materi teknis secara visual, meningkatkan motivasi belajar, dan memudahkan pemahaman konsep sistem pengisian baterai. Oleh karena itu, pengembangan media ini penting untuk meningkatkan mutu pembelajaran teknik otomotif secara menyeluruh.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis persepsi mahasiswa terhadap penerapan Project Based Learning (PjBL) dalam pembelajaran CNC menggunakan CNC Mini di Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Mesin Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan mixed methods. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 20 mahasiswa yang terbagi dalam 4 kelompok. Instrumen penelitian meliputi lembar observasi partisipasi aktif, kuesioner persepsi PjBL (19 item), dan pedoman wawancara. Analisis data kuantitatif menggunakan statistik deskriptif, sedangkan data kualitatif dianalisis secara tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) kesulitan tertinggi mahasiswa adalah mengatasi error pada G-Code dengan skor 68; (2) manfaat tertinggi yang dirasakan adalah peningkatan pemahaman konsep dasar CNC dengan skor 86; dan (3) kontribusi dan kolaborasi kelompok berjalan baik dengan skor rata-rata 77,6. Temuan kualitatif mengidentifikasi lima tema utama: kendala teknis peralatan, keterbatasan waktu, kebutuhan penyesuaian modul, perawatan mesin, dan dinamika pembagian tugas. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa PjBL dengan CNC Mini efektif meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan kesiapan kerja mahasiswa meskipun terdapat tantangan teknis yang perlu diatasi.

Abstract

The background of this study is triggered by many problems in the working world and One of them is the large number of vocational graduates that become unemployed and This study aims to analyzing performance of employees based on their working time, potential, and quality of their almamater.  This study uses ex post facto method with quantitative approach, while for the research desain using a factorial design. The results showed performance employees with high working period 83,35 higher than moderate working periode 82,48 and low working periode 81,26; performance employees with high potential 83,89 higher than moderate potential 82,00 and low potential 81,18; and performance with quality of their almamater/non accreditation A 83,00 higher than accreditation A 82,15

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) research in the context of vocational education. The study employs content analysis, evaluating vocational education journals sourced from the Sinta database. The research findings indicate that AI research in vocational education remains limited. Its applications in vocational education include the development of information systems and websites, learning media, improvements in the learning process, learning strategies, and assessment methods.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is driving transformation in education, requiring adjustments to the curriculum. This study uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to examine the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based curricula at the global and Indonesian levels, focusing on competencies, teaching approaches, and implementation challenges. Data were obtained from reputable journals, conference proceedings, and academic reports between 2021 and 2025. The results show that Artificial Intelligence (AI) enhances personalized, adaptive, and interactive learning, as well as develops 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, and digital literacy. Key challenges include limitations in teacher competency, infrastructure, access gaps, and ethical and privacy issues. Effective implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) requires teacher training, technology equity, and clear ethical guidelines. These findings confirm the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based curricula to create adaptive education that is relevant to future demands, while also serving as a guide for policymakers and educators.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Vocational High Schools (SMK) in responding to the challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). A total of sixteen relevant sources published between 2020 and 2023 were analyzed to obtain a comprehensive understanding of teacher readiness, digital infrastructure, project-based learning (PjBL), and the alignment between schools and the industrial sector (DUDI). The findings show that although the Merdeka Curriculum is conceptually aligned with 21st-century competencies—particularly digital literacy, creativity, and problem solving—its implementation in SMKs remains constrained by limited teacher competence, inadequate technological facilities, and weak industrial partnerships. Project-Based Learning has been introduced but has not consistently resulted in authentic, industry-oriented projects. Furthermore, digital literacy among students and the digital readiness of schools are still at moderate levels, affecting the effectiveness of technology-based learning. The study concludes that strengthening teacher capacity, improving digital infrastructure, enhancing collaboration with industry, and ensuring deeper integration of PjBL are crucial for optimizing the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. These efforts are necessary to prepare vocational students to compete and adapt in the dynamic landscape of Industry 4.0.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically examine how the Curriculum course contributes to developing students’ global competencies in the digital era. Through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, this study analyzes various scholarly articles from Google Scholar (2021–2025), research reports, and academic publications relevant to curriculum integration, global competence development, and the demands of 21st-century higher education. The review findings indicate that the Curriculum course not only provides conceptual understanding of curriculum design, implementation, and evaluation, but also encourages students to develop critical thinking skills, digital literacy, cross-cultural collaboration, and global problem-solving abilities. The use of educational technology and innovative learning models further strengthens the development of global competencies by providing more interactive and contextual learning experiences, making the Curriculum course an increasingly important and evolving strategy in the digital era.
