Abstract

This study focuses on "Analysis of Students' Cognitive Abilities on Global Warming Materials in Stabat Preparatory High School". The purpose of the research is to find out the understanding of Biology learning in the cognitive realm in the XIC Science class of Stabat Preparatory High School. Descriptive research method with the form of survey study research, with a population of grade XI students. Data collection tools for interviews, questionnaires, test questions and documents. The results of the study show that from the results of the test questions faced to students, it can be seen that there are 16 students who have cognitive abilities that are included in the good category and there are 5 students who are included in the sufficient category. Based on these results from the 21 samples taken, it can be said that the cognitive abilities of students in Biology learning are quite good. And if the percentage of 84.33% of students who understand well and 17.76% of students understand adequately the test questions that are being done.

Abstract

Current environmental problems, both global and national, are largely caused by human behavior, therefore environmental problems can be minimized by instilling a sense of environmental care. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between environmental knowledge and environmental care attitudes. The population and sample in this study were 77 students of the Social Studies Education Study Program at STKIP Al Maksum, class of 2022 and 2023. The instruments used were environmental knowledge test questions and an environmental care attitude questionnaire. Based on the results of the study, the results obtained on the variable of environmental knowledge level of students of the Social Studies Education Study Program at STKIP Al Maksum were included in the High category as many as 46 (60%) respondents, then 31 (40%) respondents were included in the medium category and no respondents were included in the low category. On the environmental care attitude variable, students of the Social Studies Education Study Program were included in the high category as many as 49 (64%) respondents, then 28 (36%) respondents were included in the good category and no respondents were included in the bad category. The results of the study indicate that the closeness of the relationship between knowledge and environmental care attitudes is in the very high category with a correlation coefficient value of 0.985. In addition, a significance value of 0.000 is obtained which is smaller than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05) so H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means there is a significant and positive relationship between environmental knowledge and the formation of environmental care attitudes of students in the Social Studies Education Study Program.

Abstract

Beberapa penelitian yang terbaru, banyak pelajar yang termasuk dalam kategori kecanduan memakai handphone terutama penggunaan media sosial. Semakin meningkat dengan derajat kecanduan paling ringan maupun paling berat. Dengan pesatnya perkembangan teknologi dan internet saat ini telah memudahkan kita dalam melakukan interaksi atau komunikasi sesama manusia, namun perkembangan internet yang cepat tidak hanya membawa dampak positif namun juga membawa dampak negatif seperti Cyber Sex, Bullying, dan Brainwash Terrorisme. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh tim pengabdi yang dilaporkan dalam penelitian ini fokus pada sosialisasi pembatasan media sosial kepada pelajar. Media sosial dipilih karena resiko dan bahayanya lebih besar untuk pelajar karena sifat komunitas online tidak interaksi secara langsung dan anonim. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah partisipasi aktif. Kegiatan ini menyarankan beberapa hal untuk para siswa yaitu mendorong keterbukaan para siswa terhadap media sosial apa saja yang mereka gunakan, berhati-hati terhadap data-data pribadi ketika berada dalam media sosial.

Abstract

The presence of a palm oil mill in Alur Gadung Village, Sawit Seberang District, Langkat Regency, impacts both the environment and the socio-economic lives of the local community. This study employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. Data were gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation involving residents living near the mill. The findings indicate that the community experiences positive impacts, such as job opportunities, increased income, and the growth of small businesses. Conversely, residents also complain about smoke, odors, dust, and black ash, which degrade air quality and compromise their health and comfort. The community urges the company to improve waste management and reduce environmental pollution. Collaboration among the company, the government, and the community is essential to ensure that economic benefits go hand in hand with environmental preservation and public health.

Abstract

Consumptive behavior among adolescents in the digital era has developed into an increasingly significant problem, along with the widespread use of social media, the rapid growth of e-commerce platforms, and the ease of digital transaction systems that collectively shape the consumption patterns of the younger generation. This condition deserves serious attention because it has the potential to affect character formation, the level of independence in financial management, and the psychosocial welfare of adolescents. This study aims to examine the influence of consumptive behavior on adolescents in the digital era by focusing on three main factors, namely the intensity of social media use, the level of self-control, and financial literacy. The approach used is quantitative with an explanatory survey design. Data collection was carried out through the distribution of structured questionnaires to adolescents who actively use digital media, then analyzed using validity tests, reliability tests, and multiple linear regression techniques. The results of the study show that the intensity of social media use has a positive and significant influence on adolescents' consumptive behavior. Self-control has been shown to have a significant negative effect, indicating that the better the adolescent's ability to control themselves, the lower the tendency to consummate behavior is shown. Financial literacy has a relatively weaker influence than the other two variables

Abstract

Local wisdom serves as the primary foundation of national identity, currently facing significant challenges amidst the rapid flow of globalization. This research aims to examine the importance of preserving local traditional values as a survival strategy in an increasingly anonymous and uniform modern era. Employing a qualitative approach with a literature study method, data were gathered from various scientific literatures, books, and relevant documents, which were then analyzed descriptively. The results indicate that local wisdom functions as a moral "anchor" and a cultural immune system capable of filtering external influences and strengthening social cohesion through values such as mutual cooperation (gotong royong) and deliberation (musyawarah). However, real challenges were identified, including a shift in social interaction due to technological dominance and a sense of cultural inferiority. This study concludes that cultural preservation must not be rigid; rather, it should be achieved through the integration of local values in education (ethnopedagogy) and tradition rebranding strategies within the creative economy sector. Through synergy between education, families, and society, the younger generation is expected to grow into global citizens who remain firmly rooted in Indonesian cultural heritage without being left behind by modern progress.
