Abstract

Most of the PKK dasawisma Jambu women in the hamlet of Gabahan RT 05 RW 12 are new residents with a new home environment that is in the stage of structuring new gardens and ornamental plants. And most of them work as housewives who need to get skills that can increase family income. They have never received counseling or training on making organic compost by universities or other institutions. From the results of the interview, several residents wanted counseling and training on the manufacture of organic compound fertilizer as an alternative to increase financial income. For this reason, the Abdimas Team of Biology education study program will give it to the residents of Gabahan village, RT. 05 RW. 12 Jombor about making organic compost. They want counseling with this theme because most of them do not understand how to make organic compost. The purpose of the service is 1. To provide counseling on how to make organic compost. 2. To provide training/skills in packaging organic compost fertilizers.The training was carried out for 3 times. The method used is lectures and questions and answers, as well as practical guidance on how to make and pack organic compost. The target of this counseling and training is to increase the understanding of how to make 20% organic compost among the residents of Gabahan RT. 05 RW. 12 Jombor. From the results of the training on making organic compost for the women members of the Jambu PKK dasawisma Gabahan RT 05 RW 12 Jombor, it can be concluded that there was an increase in understanding of the process of making organic compost from an average score of 56.8 to 85.5 or an increase in understanding of Rp. 33.2%. The results of the compost can be used by women as plant fertilizer, but can also be sold to increase income.

Abstract

Limbah rumah tangga berupa minyak jelantah dan sisa sayur-buah tetap ada setiap hari di hampir setiap rumah tangga di masyarakat mitra. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah memanfaatkan limbah minyak jelantah dan diolah menjadi pengharum ruangan yang ramah lingkungan khususnya oleh masyarakat mitra. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah metode ceramah dan pendampingan praktek langsung. Materi yang disampaikan adalah pengolahan minyak jelantah dan ekoenzim menjadi pengharum ruangan. Observasi awal keadaan mitra terlihat bahwa sebagian besar wanita di Dukuh Bener RT01/04 Kelurahan Tepisari Kecamatan Polokarto merupakan ibu rumah tangga dengan persentase penggunaan minyak goreng yang cukup tinggi tiap bulan. Selain itu, limbah rumah tangga lainnya berupa sisa sayur dan buah jumlahnya banyak per hari dan masyarakat mitra telah mendapatkan pelatihan pembuatan ekoenzim. Kegiatan Pengabdian dilakukan dengan metode ceramah serta praktek langsung. Materi yang disampaikan dapat terserap dengan baik oleh mitra sehingga mitra sudah dapat praktek langsung dalam membuat pengharum ruangan. Hasil posttest menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan ini berhasil mencapai tujuannya yaitu dengan adanya nilai 100 %. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi alternatif pengolahan limbah rumah tangga sekaligus dapat dijadikan sumber pendapatan tambahan masyarakat.

From the results of the training in making organic compost for PKK women in the hamlet of Gabahan RT 05 RW 12 Jombor, it can be concluded that there was an increase in understanding of the process of making organic compost from an average score of 37.5 to 88.45 or an increase in understanding of 122, 4%. The results of the compost can be used by women as plant fertilizer, but can also be sold to increase income.

Abstract

Handsanitizer menjadi barang yang hampir semua orang mempunyainya pada saat pandemik Covid-19 saat ini. Eco-Handsanitizer merupakan salah satu pilihan handsanitizer bagi mereka yang mempunyai kulit sensitif. Salah satu jenis metabolit sekunder yang bersifat antibakteri, antijamur, dan antivirus; alkaloid; pada eco-handsanitizer diuji secara kualitatif menggunakan uji Wagner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa larutan ekoenzim yang berasal dari sisa sayur dengan pengenceran 1:4  dan ditambahkan dengan Aloe vera + 300 IU vitamin E mempunyai aktivitas alkaloid yang stabil dibandingkan perlakuan yang lainnya. Hasil ini diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi ilmiah bahwa eco-handsanitizer dapat dibuat dengan perlakuan ini dengan daya simpan sampai 9 minggu.

Abstract

Pakis merupakan media tanam terbaik untuk anggrek, karena dilindungi maka diperlukan solusi untuk mengurangi atau mengganti media pakis dengan campuran kompos. Pada penelitian ini dipilih kompos kulit kacang tanah dan kompos jerami sebagai campuran media. Selain mengurangi media pokok,  kompos juga dapat berfungsi sebagai pupuk. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui; 1. pengaruh campuran kompos pada media tanam terhadap pertumbuhan seedling anggrek Dendrobium sp 2. jenis kompos dan komposisi campuran, pada media tanam untuk pertumbuhan seedling anggrek Dendrobium sp. Waktu penelitian 2,5 bulan, objek penelitian adalah Dendrobium sp. anggrek berumur 12 bulan, lokasi penelitian di Desa Gabahan, RT 05 RW 12, Jombor Sukoharjo. Rancangan penelitian acak kelompok dengan 5 perlakuan. Perlakuan Penanaman seedling anggrek dengan media pakis dicampur kompos kulit kacang tanah 1/2 bagian (A), media dicampur kompos kulit kacang tanah 1/3 bagian (B), media dicampur kompos jerami 1/2 bagian (C), media dicampur kompos jerami 1/3 bagian (D), dan perlakuan dengan media pakis sebagai kontrol (E).  Variabel yang diamati adalah jumlah daun, panjang daun, luas daun, jumlah batang, serta tinggi tanaman yang diukur 12 minggu setelah penanaman. Analisis data menggunakan Uji Varian (Uji ANOVA/Kruskal Wallis) dilanjutkan dengan Uji DMRT atau Uji Median Mood. Pemberian campuran kompos pada media tanam baik kompos kulit kacang tanah maupun kompos jerami berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan seedling anggrek Dendrobium sp pada variabel panjang daun dan tinggi tanaman. Sedangkan pada variabel jumlah daun, luas daun dan jumlah batang tidak terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan.  Perlakuan campuran kompos B dengan campuran kompos kulit kacang tanah 1/3 bagian memberikan pengaruh paling baik pada variabel pertumbuhan panjang daun, jumlah daun, luas daun, serta jumlah batang. Pengaruh campuran kompos jerami 1/2 maupun 1/3 bagian media terhadap pertumbuhan seedling anggrek kalah bagus dibanding dengan kompos kulit kacang tanah.

Abstract

Balsam plant is widely known as plants with a myriad of benefits. This plant includes plants that are easily propagated and cared for. However, plant maintenance will be important to ensure the continued growth and development of these plants. One of the environmentally friendly liquid organic fertilizers is ecoenzyme. Ecoenzyme is widely recognized as a multipurpose solution made from fermented sugar with vegetable and or fruit residue. This study aims to determine the effect of ecoenzyme solutions on the growth of Impatiens balsamina L. plants. This study followed a completely randomized design (CRD) with one factor. The data obtained were then analyzed by means of analysis of variance (ANOVA) in a one-factor completely randomized design and followed by the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) with a 95% confidence level. The results showed that on the parameters of leaf and stem length, watering with the addition of ecoenzyme had a significant effect on the growth of balsam plants starting at 30-day after culturing (DAC) and 51-DAC. Anatomical analysis of the root, stem and leaf of balsam plant treated with watering using the addition of ecoenzyme solution showed that there were significant differences with the control. The results of this study are expected to increase knowledge related to the propagation of balsam plants and the use of ecoenzyme as liquid organic fertilizer.

Abstract

Tanaman cabe rawit Capsicum frutescens L. termasuk tanaman hortikultura yang buahnya dimanfaatkan untuk keperluan aneka pangan dan bumbu dapur yang hampir setiap hari dicari oleh masyarakat di kota maupun pedesaan. Oleh karena itu banyak hal yang menarik untuk dikembangkan dari tanaman cabai rawit.  Penelitian ini berfokus pada pertumbuhan cabe rawit mulai dari semai hingga penanaman dengan berbagai perlakuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan 4 perlakuan diantaranya penyiraman dengan ekoenzim, penyiraman dengan rendaman kulit bawang merah, penyiraman dengan rendaman teh dan kontrol. Organogenesis yang diamati yaitu bagian batang dan daun tanaman cabe rawit pada 8 hari setelah tanam (HST) dan 13-HST. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 40 ulangan pada setiap perlakuan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pada panjang batang dan daun terbaik pada 13-HST didapat dengan perlakuan penyiraman larutan ekoenzim. Morfologi akar pada 50-HST menunjukkan adanya persamaan pada semua perlakuan. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan bermanfaat menambah informasi ilmiah terkait perbanyakan tanaman cabe.

Abstract

Water quality must be maintained so that it remains beneficial to humans and other living things, as a means of improving public health. The requirements for clean water quality have been regulated in Permenkes No. 416 of 1990 concerning Requirements and Supervision of Water Quality. The purpose of this study was to analyze water quality with hardness and pH parameters for water hygiene and sanitation used by the people of Semin village, Semin district, Gunungkidul district. The test results showed that the highest hardness level was found in sample C3 which was 228.86 mg/L and the lowest hardness level was found in sample A2 which was 89.55 mg/L. The highest pH test results were found in sample D3, which was 8.1, while the lowest pH level was found in sample A2, which was 6.5. Based on the test results, water from drilled wells in Semin village, Semin sub-district, Gunungkidul regency, is still suitable for use for hygiene and sanitation purposes.

Abstract

Food has an expiration date. To make food have a longer shelf life, food manufacturers use preservatives as a solution. There are preservatives that are safe to use and prohibited from being used. One of the chemical preservatives prohibited from being used in food is formalin. Formalin is usually added to processed meat and fish foods. The purpose of this study was to detect the presence of formaldehyde as a preservative in consumption fish sold in several markets in Surakarta. The method used in this study is experimental. As an indicator in this study, natural ingredients were used, namely dragon fruit peel extract. This research is expected to be a solution and an alternative in detecting formaldehyde content and an effort to choose healthy consumption fish without containing harmful chemicals. The results of this study found fish containing formaldehyde, namely shark, salmon, tilapia, mackerel, and flying fish. If consumed in the long term, formalin can cause damage to kidney function, liver and cause cancer.

Abstract

Cassava (Manihot esculenta crantz) is a type of tuber which has a carbohydrate content of 34% and can be processed as an alternative staple. One of which is mocaf flour (Modified Cassava Flour) which is flour derived from cassava and modified by lactic acid bacteria fermentation. Mocaf flour can be used to make bread, noodles and cakes. One of the efforts to utilize cassava into mocaf flour into processed products has been carried out by the Sumber Makmur Women Farmers Group (KWT). The purpose of this research is to improve the skills of KWT Sumber Makmur members of Tepisari Village in producing mocaf flour independently so they can create processed food products from mocaf flour that are of higher quality and variety. This research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with the results obtained from making Mocaf Cookies which will be discussed and observed, namely swelling power, taste, aroma and texture. The results obtained from the process of making mocaf flour with tape yeast can produce good quality mocaf flour and processing mocaf cookies has produced cookies with sufficient expansion power, savory taste, distinctive aroma and crunchy texture. The use of cassava into mocaf flour at KWT Sumber Makmur, it is able to provide increased insight into the process of making mocaf flour. As well as the development of KWT mocaf cookies processed products that have high selling value.
