Abstract

This research examines the relationship between the conflicting role and the academic well-being of students who are both studying and working. It is widely assumed that students who are both working and studying experience low academic well-being, such as getting low grades, being not confident with academic performance, and feeling removed from college activities. On the other hand, most of them also experience a conflict between the multiple roles they engage in, and this reduces their productivity. Based on the literature, role conflict often occurs in individuals who have difficulty in determining the scale of priorities and responsibilities. Previous research has shown how role conflict was related to the well-being of part-time working students. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to determine whether role conflict of full-time working students is related to their subjective well-being. This study was quantitative with questionnaire data collection technique. The participants in this study were 100 college students in private universities in Jakarta. The data analysis technique used was the Spearman correlation test. The result showed that there was no relation between role conflict of working students and their academic subjective well-being. Theoritical and practical implications are discussed later.

Abstract

Abstract

The present research aimed to test whether community involvement moderates the relationship between sense of coherence (SOC) and driver stress among online ridesharing drivers. The study used a quantitative design to collect data via questionnaires. All 112 participants were male and chose online ridesharing as their primary occupation. Participants were assessed using the Work Sense of Coherence Scale and Driver Stress Scale, a subscale of Driving Behavior Inventory. Community involvement was measured with a close-ended question in the demographic section of the questionnaire, with dichotomous options provided (1 = community participation; 0 = no community participation). Collected data were analyzed using JASP to examine the moderating effect. The results of this study showed that community involvement moderates the relationship between SOC and driver stress in online ridesharing drivers.

Abstract

Abstract

Islam is a exhaustive religion that talks about many facets of daily life, including recreational or leisure activities. Since leisure research has always been regarded primarily through the lens of Western psychology theory, it has grown significantly in Europe and America. There hasn't been any more research done on the benefits of leisure activity participation from an Islamic perspective. This study tries to compare leisure from the viewpoints of psychology and Islam. Comparative research is conducted by reading and analysing carefully from a variety of pertinent sources, including those from Islam and psychology. The findings indicated that psychology and Islam encourage leisure activities that are beneficial for addressing psychological, educational, social, self-relaxation, and physiological demands. While Islam dictates that one's leisure time activities do not contradict with Islamic beliefs in order to create happy people in this world and the hereafter, psychology is more open in many areas.
