Abstract

The transformation of the digital communication landscape has presented the phenomenon of information disorder that has the potential to construct symbolic violence, especially among Indonesian adolescents as active users of social media. This research aims to analyze how digital communication patterns in the form of information disorder shape and perpetuate symbolic violence, as well as its impact on the communication behavior and social interaction of Indonesian adolescents. Through a narrative literature review approach, this research integrates findings from various academic sources, focusing on the dynamics of digital communication, manifestations of symbolic violence, and interaction patterns on social media. The analysis reveals that information disorder has created new communication patterns that can systematically trigger and perpetuate various forms of symbolic violence in the digital space. The complexity of interactions between digital communication patterns, sociocultural contexts, and the characteristics of social media platforms influences adolescents' vulnerability to this phenomenon. The identified impacts reveal significant changes in adolescents' communication patterns and social interactions, including transformations in how they construct meaning, establish identity, and form social relations in digital spaces. The study also identified that effective communication strategies in impact mitigation should integrate digital literacy with Media and Information Literacy (MIL), supported by participatory communication and community empowerment approaches. The findings make a significant contribution to the development of a more effective communication model in protecting the digital well-being of Indonesian youth.

Abstract

Effective communication between public institutions and the media fosters transparency, accountability, and trust. However, limited empirical research has explored how press releases' structure, delivery, and credibility affect journalists’ satisfaction, particularly within local police institutions. This study examines the effectiveness of press release presentations by the Public Relations Division of the Bone Police Department in enhancing journalists’ information satisfaction. Using a quantitative approach, the study surveyed 26 officially registered journalists affiliated with the unit. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression. The findings reveal a statistically significant positive correlation between press release effectiveness and journalists’ satisfaction (R² = 0.840, p < 0.05). Key influencing factors include message clarity, source credibility, and digital communication platforms. This study contributes to institutional communication literature by highlighting the strategic role of media relations in shaping the perceived value of public information. It provides practical insights for public sector agencies to refine their communication strategies and build stronger relationships with the media, particularly in regions where accurate and timely information is critical. These findings underscore the importance of professional and credible press releases in improving the flow of public information.

Abstract

Information literacy is defined as the ability to access publications, understand, and critically evaluate media content. The competence level of community in information literacy encompasses the regulation of message interpretation passing through online media. Therefore, this study aims to determine the information literacy competence of the Aceh people in curtailing COVID-19 hoax. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire, involving 1078 respondents who were in 5 study locations, namely Banda Aceh, West Aceh, Central Aceh, and North Aceh, and Langsa. The results showed that 836 (77.55%) respondents understood hoax as intentional fake news, while 576 (53.43%) indicated that it is inaccurate information. A total of 559 (51.86%) respondents were sometimes able to distinguish between hoax and true information. Furthermore, most respondents suggested that there is a need for socialization or education in the community to prevent the spread of hoax. By promoting information literacy, self-control over the publication received is carried out optimally, which is a solution to prevent cases of circulating hoax. Furthermore, information literacy is an effective method in dealing with false publications by introducing the characteristics of fake news, verification procedures, and following up on issues that are likely to fall into the hoax category. The research method uses quantitative methods with an explanatory research approach. The research data source is primary data, with a population of 132 MSMEs collected under the auspices of the Rahmatan Lil Alamin Nganjuk Islamic Boarding School. The sampling technique uses the slovin formula and a sample of 100 SMEs is obtained. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. Data analysis uses instrument testing, model development through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and hypothesis testing. The results of the study show that using IT training is able to mediate the effect of intra collaboration and supply chain management on the market performance of MSMEs. MSMEs will experience an increase in market performance if the intra collaboration of each MSME group has high commitment, supply chain management is well managed, especially payment patterns that are communicated to provide convenience to fellow MSMEs, as well as using IT training that supports collaboration and the MSME supply chain.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of the Regional Government Information System (SIPD) implementation in the General Affairs Section of the Regional Secretariat of North Minahasa Regency. SIPD, mandated by Permendagri No. 70/2019, aims to improve transparency, accountability, and efficiency in regional governance by integrating planning, budgeting, execution, reporting, and asset management processes. The primary objectives are to assess the operational performance of SIPD, identify factors inhibiting its effectiveness, and propose strategic recommendations for improvement. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with key informants, including the Regional Secretary, Head of the General Affairs Section, Budget Treasurer, and SIPD Operators, direct observation of SIPD usage, and document analysis of SIPD reports and related regulatory frameworks. Data were analyzed following Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, encompassing data reduction, presentation, and verification through triangulation. Findings reveal that SIPD has substantially streamlined administrative and financial processes, enabling real-time access to budgetary data, reducing manual paperwork, and enhancing decision-making. However, constraints such as limited human resource capacity, intermittent infrastructural support, incomplete data integration, and resistance to change hinder optimal performance. Challenges arise from inadequate training, inconsistent internet connectivity, and unclear standard operating procedures. The study concludes that while SIPD holds significant potential for modernizing local governance, its efficacy is undermined by technical, human, and organizational barriers. Recommendations include targeted capacity-building programs, infrastructural upgrades, refinement of data protocols, and stronger leadership commitment to foster a culture of digital transformation. These measures are expected to enhance SIPD’s functionality, thereby elevating public service quality and accountability in North Minahasa Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of the Personnel Information System (SIMPEG) application in North Minahasa Regency, focusing on three main aspects: human resource (HR) management, facilities and infrastructure, and budget support. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that although SIMPEG has been implemented quite well, there are several significant obstacles. First, from the HR side, there was a competency gap in operating the SIMPEG advanced module, as well as resistance from employees who still rely on manual systems. Second, facilities and infrastructure, such as network infrastructure and hardware, that are starting to become obsolete hamper system performance. Third, less flexible budget support causes delays in infrastructure rejuvenation and HR training. Based on these findings, this study recommends increasing HR capacity through continuous training and certification, improving IT infrastructure, and optimizing budget allocation to support system sustainability. With these steps, it is hoped that SIMPEG can function more effectively in supporting transparent and efficient personnel governance in North Minahasa Regency.
