Abstract

The development of information technology has encouraged various business sectors to digitize their service processes, including the laundry sector. However, Holly Jolly Laundry still uses a manual transaction recording system that has the potential to cause service delays, recording errors, and difficulties in managing customer data. This condition has an impact on low operational efficiency and decreased customer satisfaction levels. Based on these problems, this study aims to design and develop a web-based laundry transaction information system equipped with a self-service feature that allows customers to place orders independently while reducing the potential for recording errors by the admin. The system development method used is Rapid Application Development (RAD), which emphasizes the speed of prototyping and active user involvement in every stage of development, including requirements planning, user design, construction, and cutover. The results show that the developed system is able to accelerate the ordering process, improve the accuracy of transaction recording, and facilitate the admin in managing service data in a more structured and efficient manner. In addition, the self-service feature allows customers to input data directly, thereby reducing the admin's workload and minimizing input errors. Thus, the resulting information system is proven to improve operational efficiency, transaction data accuracy, and service quality at Holly Jolly Laundry.

Abstract

In the era of digital transformation, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are increasingly encouraged to adopt operational digitalization to strengthen internal processes. This study aims to design and preliminarily evaluate an Agile Scrum-based operational information system intended to support internal efficiency in culinary MSMEs, particularly in transaction recording, processing speed, and inventory traceability. Prior to development, manual workflows showed slow transaction entry, inconsistent handwritten stock notes, and limited visibility for daily reconciliation—conditions used as qualitative baseline indicators for assessing potential efficiency improvements. The system was developed through three Agile Scrum sprints, with requirements gathered via observation and semi-structured interviews, modeled using Unified Modeling Language (UML), and evaluated through black-box functional testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Black-box testing verified that core functions executed as intended, while early UAT feedback from five internal users produced an average satisfaction score of 86% on a Likert scale, indicating positive perceptions of usability, responsiveness, and reporting clarity. These findings represent preliminary perceptual evidence rather than demonstrated operational improvement, as no quantitative measurements—such as before–after transaction time, error rates, or reconciliation accuracy—were collected. Accordingly, the study does not claim proven efficiency gains but proposes an initial design that can be refined and empirically validated through future performance-based evaluations. The study contributes by positioning internal record-keeping digitalization as a practical entry point for MSME operational strengthening and by illustrating Scrum’s contextual applicability in resource-constrained business environments.

Abstract

Breast cancer is one of the most significant global health issues. Machine learning approaches offer the potential to accurately analyze clinical data and aid in early diagnosis. However, conventional machine learning models are often limited in their ability to model complex nonlinear relationships in medical data, which can reduce predictive accuracy. This study employs a deep learning architecture because of its ability to model such relationships. Specifically, the TabNet model was chosen because it is designed for tabular data and offers better interpretability. The public Wisconsin Diagnostic Breast Cancer (WDBC) dataset, which has 30 features and an imbalanced class distribution, was used in this study. Feature selection was necessary to handle the high-dimensional data, and SMOTE-ENN was used for class balancing. Two feature selection methods, Chi-Square and Information Gain, were compared to determine the most effective approach. Hyperparameter optimization was performed using Optuna and validated with stratified k-fold cross-validation to ensure optimal performance. The results of the experiment demonstrate that feature selection and optimization significantly improve performance. The base model with Chi-Square feature selection achieved an accuracy rate of 64.91%. Meanwhile, the Chi-Square model with Optuna optimization increased accuracy to 98.25%. This is 3.51% higher than the accuracy of 94.74% achieved by the optimized model without feature selection. In the final comparison, both methods demonstrated distinct advantages: Chi-Square (75% features) excelled in achieving 100% precision and more efficient computation time. Information Gain (75% features), on the other hand, was the only method to achieve 100% recall, which is crucial for minimizing false negatives. These results demonstrate that the optimal method depends on the context. Information Gain is best for maximum diagnostic sensitivity, and Chi-Square is best for performance balance and efficiency.
