Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Porter’s Generic Strategies, namely cost leadership, differentiation, and focus, in improving school competitiveness through English learning based on Multiple Intelligences Research (MIR). This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design at a private elementary school in East Java. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using an interactive analysis model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the three Porter’s strategies were implemented in an integrated manner within school management and learning practices. The cost leadership strategy was reflected in the efficient management of school resources without reducing the quality of educational services. The differentiation strategy was realized through the application of the MIR approach, which improved students’ participation, motivation, and learning outcomes in English learning. Meanwhile, the focus strategy was directed toward fulfilling the needs of parents who prioritize holistic education and early English mastery. The findings confirm that the integration of management strategies and learning innovation contributes significantly to improving school competitiveness in a sustainable manner amid increasingly competitive educational environments.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the influence of implementing green technology and sustainable materials in the development process of environmentally friendly schools and their impact on the learning environment and educational achievement. This study applies a qualitative Systematic Literature Review methodology. To systematically integrate the scientific literature, narrative synthesis and thematic analysis methods are employed. Based on the analysis results, it can be stated that green technology plays a highly important role in improving energy efficiency and indoor environmental quality, while sustainable materials provide a significant contribution to reducing environmental impacts throughout the building life cycle. The combination of these two elements is capable of enhancing thermal comfort, air quality, and natural lighting, which positively affect students’ ability to concentrate, think critically, and support the creation of a more effective and healthier learning process. In this context, the research emphasizes the importance of an integrated approach in designing school buildings that simultaneously considers green technology and sustainable materials in order to create an environmentally friendly, sustainable educational environment that supports the improvement of students’ learning quality.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of religious education within the family and school environments in instilling Islamic creed and moral values among students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 1 Sukoharjo and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in the digital era. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Informants were selected through purposive sampling, involving Islamic Religious Education teachers, seventh-grade students, and parents. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis applied the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal that religious education within the family is implemented through habituation of worship, parental role modeling, advice, and behavioral supervision. In the school environment, the inculcation of Islamic creed and moral values is carried out through Akidah Akhlak learning, teacher exemplification, and religious activities such as congregational prayers and Qur’anic recitation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of digital flexing culture on students’ learning achievement in the Aqidah Akhlak subject at MTs Negeri 8 Boyolali in the 2025/2026 academic year. This research employed a quantitative approach using simple linear regression analysis. The sample consisted of 33 students selected through purposive sampling from a population of 128 students. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires to measure digital flexing culture and documentation of students’ academic scores. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality test (Shapiro–Wilk), linearity test (ANOVA), and hypothesis testing with SPSS 25. The findings indicate that the level of digital flexing culture is relatively high (mean = 27.3), while students’ learning achievement is also categorized as high (mean = 80.87). However, regression analysis shows that digital flexing culture does not have a significant effect on learning achievement (t = 0.710 < 1.695; Sig. = 0.483 > 0.05), although it has a very weak positive direction (β = 0.095). This study provides empirical evidence that specific digital cultural phenomena, such as flexing behavior, do not directly influence academic achievement in Islamic value-based education, highlighting the stronger role of internal factors such as self-control and moral values.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the representation of female characters in the novel Woman at Point Zero by Nawal El-Saadawi through a feminist perspective using Norman Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis model. The focus of this research lies in how forms of gender injustice, power relations, and the resistance of female characters are represented in the novel’s text. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with a critical discourse analysis approach covering three dimensions, namely text analysis, discursive practice, and socio-cultural practice. The results of the study indicate that the main female character in the novel experiences various forms of oppression, such as subordination, physical and sexual violence, exploitation, and marginalization influenced by patriarchal culture. In the text dimension, the study found the use of diction, dialogues, and narratives that portray male domination over women. In the discursive practice dimension, the novel represents social criticism toward societal constructions that place women in unequal positions. Meanwhile, in the socio-cultural practice dimension, the novel illustrates how patriarchal systems and social power shape gender inequality in women’s lives. The female character in the novel is also portrayed as a figure who resists the hegemony and oppression she experiences.

Abstract

Listening is a fundamental language skill that plays a crucial role in early childhood English acquisition. This study aims to describe the listening ability of children aged 4–5 years through the use of cartoon videos as a learning medium in Batahan Village, North Sumatra. This research employed a qualitative case study design involving three children as participants. Data were collected through observation, interviews with parents, and documentation, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s qualitative data analysis model. The findings reveal that cartoon videos positively influence children’s listening skills, attention, and learning motivation. Children were able to recognize characters, understand basic activities, follow simple instructions, and respond emotionally to the story. However, differences in listening development were observed among the children, indicating that individual characteristics such as attention span and learning style affect learning outcomes. The study concludes that cartoon videos are effective instructional media for developing listening skills in early childhood, particularly when supported by active guidance from teachers and parents.

Abstract

Learning motivation plays a crucial role in determining students’ level of participation and academic success, particularly at the elementary school level. Teachers hold a strategic position in fostering and enhancing students’ motivation through the implementation of effective instructional strategies. This study aims to examine the role of teachers in improving students’ learning motivation at SDN Serpong 2 Tangerang Selatan. The research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, involving elementary school teachers and students as research participants. The collected data were analyzed using qualitative data analysis procedures, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that teachers act as motivators by applying various strategies, such as assigning challenging tasks aligned with students’ abilities, providing encouragement and positive reinforcement, creating a supportive and conducive classroom environment, and offering individual guidance to students who experience learning difficulties. These strategies contribute to increasing students’ interest, enthusiasm, and active involvement in the learning process. Nevertheless, teachers encounter several challenges, including limited instructional time, differences in students’ characteristics and abilities, and the underutilization of innovative learning media.
