Abstract

Fall is one of the most common physical problems in the elderly that results in morbidity and mortality in the elderly. One of the risk factors of fall is independence in daily activities. The purpose of this study is to know the relationship of independence level in daily activities with the risk of falling in the elderly at PSTW WerdhaSabai Nan AluihSicincin 2017.The design of this research was descriptive analytic with cross sectional approach. The techning sampling was Propotinal Simple Random Sampling with 52 samples. Data collection used primary with questionnaire Index Katz and morse fall scale .Univariate analysis is shown in frequency distribution and bivariate table by using chi-square test.The results showed that there was a relationship between the level of independence in daily activities with the risk of falling in the elderly in PSTW Sabai Nan AluihSicincin 2017 (p value = 0,019).Based on the results of this study the risk of falling related to the level of independence. Suggestions from this study are expected that the elderly who are at risk to fall can to reduce the independence in living daily activities in order to prevent the occurrence of falls

Abstract

Communication is very important position, especially in terms of educational leadership. The purpose of this research is to describe and obtain information about communication approach and its implementation in education leadership in SD Muhammadiyah Kleco, Kotagede, Yogyakarta. This research was conducted by using qualitative descriptive approach because it needed deep and accurate data and can describe clearly and detail. Subjects of this study were principals, teachers, and employees. Data collection was done by observation and interview. The result of the research shows that the approach of communication in the leadership of education in SD Muhammadiyah Kleco, Kotagede, Yogyakarta, the principal implements the approach of structure and function of organization, human relations approach, communication approach as organizing process, and organization approach as culture. From various leadership communication approaches in the education, leaders are able to master their communication skills and utilize existing resources to overcome limitations and compose and deliver messages that provide guidance, direction, and motivation to others to act.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of organizational communication strategies in improving the quality of educational services in Vocational High Schools (SMK). The study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies with school leaders, teachers, and education personnel. Data were then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results indicate that organizational communication strategies in vocational high schools are implemented through a combination of formal and informal two-way communication. This communication plays a crucial role in strengthening work coordination, enhancing teacher professionalism, streamlining educational services, and encouraging improvements in the quality of learning. However, the implementation of organizational communication strategies still faces obstacles such as differences in individual character, differing perceptions of policies, and the sudden delivery of online information that lacks direct explanation. Solutions implemented include leadership introspection, an adaptive communication approach, strengthening two-way discussion forums, and evaluating the effectiveness of the communication media used. This study concludes that an open, participatory, and well-managed organizational communication strategy is a key factor in improving the quality of educational services in vocational high schools.

Abstract

The success or failure of the world of education in achieving educational goals depends on the quality of teacher performance. Suboptimal teacher performance is influenced by professional ability, adequate compensation support, and high work motivation. This study aims to identify the direct and indirect effects of competence and compensation on teacher performance through work motivation as an intermediary variable. The research method used was quantitative with a population of 55 people, while the sampling technique applied was total sampling. Data collection methods included observation, interviews, questionnaires, and literature reviews. Data were analyzed with SEM-PLS using the SmartPLS 4 application. The results of the study showed that competence had a positive effect but was not able to directly improve teacher performance. However, competence was proven to be able to significantly increase teacher work motivation. In addition, compensation had a positive and significant effect on teacher performance and work motivation. Work motivation was also shown to have a positive and significant effect on improving teacher performance. The results of the study further showed that work motivation was able to mediate the influence of competence and compensation on teacher performance, making motivation an important factor in optimally improving the quality of teacher performance.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine how student management was able to serve as a media for improving the quality and achievement of Islamic shcool. Proper and effective management of students allowed for measurable educational outcome within the institution. Student management involves systematic effort to organize students from their initial admission until graduation, including activities such as planning, coaching, and evaluation. Furthermore, the objective of this research was to analyze student management at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Mubarak Marisa, Pohuwato. Then, this study employed a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach, focusing on understanding real-life phenomena within the school environment. In addition, technique data collections were used in this research through observation, interview, and documentation. In conclusion, the research findings stated that Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Mubarak Marisa, Pohuwato was established 18 years ago, has successfully developed excellent students through effective student management processes encompassing planning, student development, and evaluation activities.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the representation of Minangkabau culture in the Novel Harta Pusaka Cinta by Desni Intan Suri by using the perspective of postmodernism. The focus of the study includes eclecticism, parody, pastiche, irony, and camp. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected using two main techniques, namely: (1) reading technique, namely by reading the novel repeatedly while looking at words, phrases, clauses, or sentences that reflect elements of Minangkabau culture; and (2) note-taking technique, namely recording the identified data for further analysis. The data analysis process is carried out through the stages of identification, classification, description, and interpretation. The results showed that the elements of postmodernism in Minangkabau culture reflected in the novel include: eclecticism, which is illustrated through the character's behavior towards the shift of Minangkabau culture due to the influence of outside culture; parody, which appears in the form of conveying Minangkabau culture with humorous nuances; pastiche, which appears in the character's actions that reflect a longing for past cultural values; irony, which is present through events that are contrary to expectations; and camp, which shows the blurring of identity. Through the perspective of postmodernism, the characters in the novel illustrate a response to the dynamics of the times.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of the principal’s leadership role in improving educational quality through effective school management. The purpose of this study is to describe the role of the principal in the implementation of school-based management at SD Negeri 1 Ketewel. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation and interviews and analyzed using an interactive analysis model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the principal is able to perform roles as a leader, manager, motivator, and evaluator effectively. This is reflected in the management of human resources based on individual potential, continuous motivation for teachers, and ongoing evaluation practices. These efforts have contributed to the improvement of school quality and increased public trust. Therefore, the principal’s leadership plays a significant role in successful school management.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of the strategic management of the Religious Innovation Class program on the religious competence of students at SMP N 1 Salaman using a quantitative approach. The type of research used is survey research because it is adjusted to the research objective of examining the effect of the independent variable, the influence of the strategic management of the Religious Innovation Class program, on the students' competence at SMP. The population consists of 60 students, using a saturated sampling technique where the entire population is taken as the sample. Data collection techniques in this study used questionnaires, documentation, and interviews, with instrument testing using validity and reliability tests. The data analysis technique uses prerequisite tests which include: classical assumption tests (normality, linearity, and heteroscedasticity), hypothesis testing using non-parametric analysis (Wilcoxon test). The results of the classical assumption test analysis show that the normality test is normally distributed if the value (p) > 0 ,05, namely (2) > 0.05), the linearity test results showed that it was not linear when (0.001 ≥ 0.05), the Wilcoxon hypothesis test results showed that (0.000 < 0.05), thus H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of stakeholders through human resource management in improving school quality at SD No. 2 Tumbak Bayuh. It focuses on the planning, implementation, and evaluation of human resource management, as well as stakeholder involvement in improving school quality. This study employed a descriptive mixed-method approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, SWOT-based observations, and questionnaires distributed to 10 teachers and educational staff. Qualitative data were analyzed through reduction, display, and conclusion drawing, while quantitative data used descriptive statistics (mean, median, mode, and standard deviation). The findings show that human resource management has been implemented based on the school’s vision and mission and supported by leadership and internal programs. Observation results indicate a good category (score 88), while questionnaire results show a mean of 89.5, also categorized as good. However, challenges remain, including limited professional development, inconsistent evaluation follow-up, and suboptimal stakeholder involvement. This study highlights the integration of stakeholder roles in human resource management, providing a comprehensive qualitative and quantitative perspective on improving school quality.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the use of the Education Management Information System (EMIS) at the Darul Amin Islamic Boarding School in Palangka Raya based on single-database indicators as well as the efficiency, effectiveness, and synergy of educational data management. The study employed a quantitative evaluative approach, with data collected via a questionnaire administered to 26 respondents comprising educators and administrative staff. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 27 through Pearson’s validity test, Cronbach’s Alpha reliability test, and descriptive analysis. The results indicate that all instrument items are valid with significance levels below 0.05 and a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.943, indicating very high reliability. The average score for the single database indicator was 3.7, while the scores for the efficiency, effectiveness, and synergy indicators were 3.713. The results indicate that EMIS is capable of supporting integrated data management, improving administrative quality, accelerating data reporting, and strengthening coordination among educational units. The study concluded that the use of EMIS falls into the “very good” category, although improvements are still needed in the areas of human resources and technological infrastructure.
