Abstract

Textbooks are essential learning resources that play an important role in supporting the teaching and learning process in schools. Effective management and utilization of textbooks require the leadership of the head librarian to ensure that their availability and use meet the needs of teachers and students. This study aims to analyze the leadership role of the head librarian in the management and utilization of textbooks and to identify the obstacles and efforts implemented at SMK Negeri 4 Kota Jambi. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving the principal, head librarian, library staff, teachers, and students. The findings revealed that the head librarian plays a significant role in planning textbook needs, coordinating procurement, managing inventories, supervising library services, and organizing borrowing systems. In terms of utilization, the head librarian encourages the use of textbooks as learning resources through lending services and collaboration with teachers. The obstacles identified include the limited number of textbooks, damaged book conditions, and inadequate coordination in procurement processes. Efforts undertaken include implementing a rotating borrowing system, maintaining book collections, and strengthening coordination with school stakeholders.

Abstract

This study investigates the Language Art Exhibition as an invisible curriculum in Arabic language acquisition at PMDG Putri Campus 1. Using a qualitative case study approach, the study explores how artistic performances such as drama, poetry recitation (qirā'ah al-syi'r), singing (ghinā'), and news reading (qirā'ah al-akhbār) function as implicit pedagogical mechanisms supporting communicative competence. Data were collected through participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation analysis involving santriyah, Language Advisory Council (LAC) administrators, Arabic supervisors, and pesantren leaders. The findings reveal that the Language Art Exhibition creates a performative language environment encouraging spontaneous Arabic usage, emotional engagement, vocabulary retention, pronunciation accuracy, and speaking confidence. The study further demonstrates that repetitive artistic performances, institutional language culture, peer interaction, and bilingual discipline collectively construct a sustainable language ecosystem facilitating Arabic acquisition through habituation and immersion. The novelty lies in conceptualizing performative invisible curriculum as a framework explaining how artistic activities function pedagogically in pesantren.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of implementing the Acting Principal (Plt) system on the performance of school principals in conducting monitoring and evaluation at SDN 4 Sesetan. This research is motivated by the importance of leadership stability in schools to support the effectiveness of school-based management (SBM), particularly in the function of monitoring and evaluating school programs. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and documentation techniques with the research subjects being the acting principal (Plt) and teachers at SDN 4 Sesetan. The data were analyzed through stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions descriptively. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the Plt system affects the execution of monitoring and evaluation at the school. The replacement of the school principal four times within a year has caused the implementation of monitoring to lack a structured schedule, program evaluation not to be conducted routinely, and the documentation of evaluation results to remain limited. In addition, the leadership changes that occur in a short period affect coordination among school members and the continuity of school programs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of knowledge and perception based on the Theory of Planned Behavior on the interest in saving in Islamic banks, with religiosity as a moderating variable among students of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business at IAIN Kerinci. This research employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design to test the proposed hypotheses. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 students as research respondents. The data used in this study were primary data analyzed using the Partial Least Square (PLS) method with the assistance of SmartPLS version 4.0. The data analysis included outer model testing consisting of convergent validity, discriminant validity, and composite reliability, as well as inner model testing using the R-Square value. The results indicate that knowledge has a positive and significant effect on the interest in saving in Islamic banks. Meanwhile, perception does not significantly affect saving interest. Furthermore, religiosity is able to moderate the effect of knowledge on saving interest positively and significantly, but religiosity is unable to moderate the effect of perception on saving interest in Islamic banks.

Abstract

The rapid growth of digital technology has transformed public relations practices in elementary education institutions. Elementary schools no longer rely solely on conventional communication methods but increasingly utilize digital media such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and websites to establish relationships with parents and communities. This study aims to: (1) analyze digital communication strategy patterns implemented in elementary schools through Electronic Public Relations (E-PR); (2) identify the gap between dialogic communication concepts and field practices; and (3) formulate strategic recommendations for school public relations managers. This research employed a qualitative approach using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method based on the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Data were collected from national and international scholarly articles published between 2021 and 2025 and accessible through Google Scholar, Scopus, DOAJ, and SINTA databases. The findings reveal that E-PR implementation in elementary schools is dominated by the use of WhatsApp and social media platforms for operational communication and school promotion activities. However, the implementation of dialogic communication principles such as mutuality, empathy, and openness to dialogue remains relatively weak. The primary obstacles include limited digital human resources, inadequate budgets, and low levels of digital literacy among some parents. This study proposes strengthening the dialogic communication model through the principles of accessibility and sustainability in the context of elementary schools in developing countries.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of the Arabic Discussion Forum as a medium for developing communicative competence among santriwati at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Putri 1. Employing a qualitative case study design, the research explores how discussion-based activities contribute to students' Arabic communicative development within the pesantren language environment. Data were collected through participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis involving santriwati, language supervisors, and dormitory coordinators. The findings reveal that the Arabic Discussion Forum significantly contributes to the development of linguistic, sociolinguistic, discourse, and strategic competence. The forum provides authentic communicative situations that encourage students to negotiate meaning, express opinions, organize arguments, and interact spontaneously in Arabic. Furthermore, the forum enhances students' confidence, reduces speaking anxiety, and strengthens willingness to communicate actively. The effectiveness of the forum is strongly supported by the pesantren's Arabic-speaking environment, which integrates formal instruction with daily communicative interaction.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of stakeholders in supporting education financing planning based on School-Based Management (SBM) principles at the elementary school level, with a focus on the challenges encountered and their implications for sustaining education quality improvement. A descriptive qualitative approach with a single case study design was conducted at SD Negeri 7 Sesetan, Denpasar. Data were collected through passive participatory observation and semi-structured interviews with eight informants, comprising the principal, teachers, school committee members, and parent representatives. Data analysis employed Miles and Huberman's model. The findings reveal that stakeholders contribute significantly in three key areas: participatory budget planning through school committee involvement in RKAS preparation, supervision and transparency of fund utilization, and community contributions in program implementation. However, stakeholder involvement remains largely formal due to limited stakeholder capacity, absent standard operational procedures for committee functions, and insufficient communication forums. Unlike prior studies focused on secondary school financing, this study specifically explores stakeholder participation dynamics at the elementary level and proposes a collaborative participatory model to build inclusive and sustainable financing governance that supports continuous education quality improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of transformational leadership in fostering work engagement and improving employee performance in educational institutions. The phenomena examined stem from low employee work engagement, weak organizational communication, and suboptimal leadership in enhancing employee productivity and work effectiveness. This study employs a qualitative approach using a case study design to deeply understand the experiences, interactions, and meanings that emerge within the educational organizational environment. The research subjects include the head of the institution, teachers, administrative staff, and employees. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation. Data validity was achieved through triangulation of sources and methods, while data analysis utilized the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that transformational leadership plays a crucial role in fostering employee work engagement through inspirational communication, work motivation, exemplary behavior, and a humanistic interpersonal approach. Employee work engagement is reflected in increased loyalty, discipline, responsibility, cooperation, and work productivity within the organization. Furthermore, a supportive organizational culture and harmonious social relationships between leaders and employees are key factors in enhancing the effectiveness of educational institutions.
