Abstract

This study aims to describe human resource management at the El-Hayaah Library of MAN 1 Pekanbaru, focusing on four main aspects: planning, recruitment and selection, training and development, and performance evaluation of librarians. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, with data collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that librarian planning is carried out contextually by considering institutional needs and internal competencies. The recruitment and selection process is directed toward meeting qualifications and librarian involvement in literacy programs, although it has not yet adopted an open system. Training and development are conducted gradually through internal activities and external training, particularly in improving information technology competencies. Performance evaluation is still conducted informally but considers discipline, work responsibility, and contributions to literacy programs. The study concludes that HR management at the library has been implemented adaptively and effectively, although it still requires a more structured, professional system based on national standards

Abstract

Objective: Teenagers in Blumbungan village show a tendency towards deviant behavior such as illegal racing, promiscuity, and the adoption of a hedonistic lifestyle influenced by Western culture. Through cultural da'wah with intensive involvement of village kyai which is participatory and contextual, village kyai play an active role in building religious awareness of teenagers. This article aims to analyze the contribution of village kyai in strengthening the religiosity of teenagers in Blumbungan Village, Pamekasan, Madura. Method: This study uses an interpretive qualitative method with a case study approach. The determination of informants was carried out using a snowball sampling technique, where the researcher follows recommendations from one informant to another who are considered relevant and understand the research context. There are five informants in this study with details, three kyai and two from local teenagers. The theory of cultural da'wah as an analytical tool in this study which relies on the delivery of Islamic values ​​by paying attention to the social context, customs, and local culture that live in the community. Results: The study shows that the contribution of village kyai is not limited to religious functions, but also serves as a social companion who guides adolescents through direct involvement in religious activities, such as tajhizul mayit (remembrance of the deceased), regular religious studies, and other collective religious activities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model in improving the argumentative writing skills of Phase F A2 students at SMA Negeri 5 Kota Jambi. The study was motivated by students’ low ability to formulate thesis statements, construct logical arguments, and apply appropriate linguistic features. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a mixed-method approach conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 35 students, and data were collected through observation, writing tests, interviews, and documentation. The findings revealed that classical learning mastery in Cycle I reached 45.7% and increased to 97,1% in Cycle II after instructional improvements were implemented through intensive guidance and the use of student worksheets (LKPD). In addition, students’ participation and self-confidence in the learning process also improved. These findings indicate that the Jigsaw model is effective in enhancing argumentative writing skills while promoting collaborative and student-centered learning.

Abstract

This experimental study aims to analyze the influence of school principal leadership and learning climate on the competitiveness of non-formal education (NFE) institutions offering equivalency programs in Mataram City. The study employs a quantitative approach with an experimental design. Data were collected through a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, with respondents consisting of 56 teachers and educational staff as well as 56 students from 8 NFE units (1 SKB and 7 PKBM) in Mataram City. Data analysis used multiple linear regression. The results showed that, simultaneously, school principal leadership and learning climate significantly influenced the competitiveness of NFE institutions with a calculated F-value of 20.744 and a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.01), contributing 43.9%. Partially, school principal leadership has a positive and significant effect on competitiveness (β = 0.668; p = 0.000), while the learning climate does not have a significant effect (β = -0.028; p = 0.793). The findings of this study reveal that in the context of non-formal education units in Mataram City, school principal leadership is the primary driver of competitiveness, while a learning climate that is already good and relatively homogeneous does not directly serve as a significant differentiator.

Abstract

This study examines the limitations of physical archive storage facilities and their implications for archives management in various institutions. Archives play a crucial role as a source of information, evidence, and organizational memory, supporting smooth administration. However, in practice, many institutions still face limitations in space and storage facilities, as well as suboptimal archives management. This study employed a qualitative method with a literature study approach through analysis of various relevant literature sources. The results indicate that limited storage facilities lead to archive accumulation, disorganization in organization, difficulty in document retrieval, and an increased risk of damage and loss. The main contributing factors include budget constraints, low priority of archives management, increasing archive volume, and suboptimal digitization. The implications of these conditions result in decreased work effectiveness, service quality, and organizational accountability. Therefore, improvements are needed through the provision of adequate facilities and infrastructure, the implementation of a systematic classification system, increased human resource competency, and the optimization of digital technology in archives management

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and explain the effect of teachers’ pedagogical competence on students’ communication skills and performance at SMK Negeri 1 Jambi City. The study was motivated by the importance of communication skills and student performance as essential non-technical competencies required in the workplace, particularly in vocational education. However, students’ communication skills and performance are still not optimal, highlighting the need for effective pedagogical competence among teachers. This study employed a quantitative approach using an explanatory research method. The population consisted of 1,846 students, and a sample of 187 respondents was selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4 software. The results indicate that teachers’ pedagogical competence has a positive and significant effect on students’ communication skills (p-value = 0.000 < 0.05; T-statistic = 12.430 > 1.96) and student performance (p-value = 0.000 < 0.05; T-statistic = 6.483 > 1.96). Teachers’ pedagogical competence also contributes to communication skills (R² = 0.509) and student performance (R² = 0.338). These findings emphasize that improving teachers’ pedagogical competence plays an important role in enhancing students’ communication skills, performance, and readiness to enter the workforce.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of appreciation-based transformational leadership in strengthening teachers’ intrinsic motivation and promoting learning innovation in Early Childhood Education (ECE) institutions. The study focuses on the role of school principals in creating a supportive work environment, recognizing teachers’ contributions, and providing opportunities for professional creativity and participation. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research informants consisted of the school principal and teachers who were purposively selected based on their direct involvement in leadership practices and classroom learning activities. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation, technique triangulation, and member checking. The findings indicate that low teacher motivation and limited learning innovation are associated with a lack of appreciation, the dominance of administrative-oriented leadership, and limited teacher involvement in school development. The implementation of appreciation-based transformational leadership enhanced teachers’ self-confidence, work engagement, professional collaboration, and willingness to develop more creative learning practices.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of School-Based Management (SBM) in improving the quality of education at SD Negeri 14 Padangsambian, viewed from the aspects of resource management, principal leadership, community participation, as well as curriculum and school program management. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, with the principal as the main informant, and were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which includes data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the implementation of SBM has been carried out in various aspects, such as learning processes, management of facilities and infrastructure, and collaboration with external parties, supported by participatory principal leadership and stakeholder involvement, which contribute to improving the quality of learning. However, its implementation has not been fully optimal due to several constraints, such as the suboptimal execution of programs and the limited adjustment of some teachers to established procedures. The novelty of this study lies in its contextual analysis of SBM implementation at the elementary school level, emphasizing the relationship between participatory leadership, community participation, and the effectiveness of school programs in sustainably improving the quality of education.

Abstract

Teacher professional competence constitutes a fundamental determinant of instructional quality across all phases of learning—from planning and implementation to evaluation. Collegial supervision rooted in a developmental framework presents a contextually grounded and democratic avenue for advancing teacher professionalism. This study investigated the implementation of developmental-based collegial supervision at SMAN 15 Padang, examining its effects on instructional competence and identifying the factors that either facilitate or constrain its execution. A qualitative approach employing a case study design was adopted. Data were gathered through participatory observation, in-depth semi-structured interviews, and document review, subsequently validated using source and technique triangulation. Analysis followed the interactive model proposed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldana (2014). Findings reveal that collegial supervision was carried out through five systematic stages: peer pairing formation, professional development mapping, technical preparation, a three-phase observation cycle, and documentation of outcomes. The collaborative approach emerged as the most frequently applied. Positive outcomes included enhanced pedagogical competence, the cultivation of professional reflection habits, encouragement of instructional innovation, and the establishment of a professional learning community. Enablers included transformational school leadership, a collegial institutional climate, and structural support systems; constraints encompassed cultural resistance among some teachers, limited constructive feedback skills, and excessive workload.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality of services provided to students and to identify various obstacles encountered in school service management in 2025. In addition, this research examines strategies to overcome challenges in educational service management in order to improve the quality of student services at SMP Tarbiyatul Ummah Cibunigeulis Bungursari, Tasikmalaya City. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. The findings indicate that the school’s commitment to providing affordable and high-quality education is reflected in various programs, such as free education, religious activities, extracurricular programs, and financial assistance for students in need. However, the school still faces several challenges, including limited funding, incomplete facilities and infrastructure (such as science laboratories, language laboratories, sports facilities, and traditional arts equipment), as well as issues related to students’ motivation, discipline, and participation. This study specifically highlights the management of educational services in improving the quality of student services during the 2025–2026 period by considering existing limitations. The findings provide a comprehensive and naturalistic understanding of the phenomenon of educational service management and offer practical implications for enhancing student satisfaction and overall educational quality in similar institutional settings.
